I pulled some muscles very deep in my back - I had tried hot yoga, physio, and stretching at home. Nothing was able to get to the muscle. However after 3 acupuncture sessions my back pain is significantly better. The needles really get into the deep muscle tissues to help relax the muscle and promote healing. Cupping also helped to relax my muscles. Very knowledgable practitioner, would definitely recommend.

I have seen Norman twice for cupping and acupuncture and have had great results. I had tried many other options such as Physio, osteopathy, Chiropractic and not had much success in relieving my mid/upper back pain. After both sessions my back felt great, I know I will have to have a few more sessions for long term pain relief, but it will definitely be worth it. My sincere gratitude to Norman for treating my chronic neck, shoulder and lower back pain with his cupping and acupuncture therapy. I had been suffering from these conditions for more than 2 years and I had spent considerable amount of money on Ortho consultations, Xray, MRI scanning, several physiotherapy sessions, and so many Arcoxia tablets. My lower back pain had become so severe that neither I was able to sit for 30 minutes continuously in office nor I could do a 10 minutes walk, let alone walking up the stairs. That’s when one of my friends recommended me to try acupuncture therapy at Norman’s clinic. He explained both acupuncture and cupping therapies and how they could help alleviate my shoulder and lower back pain. However, he was honest to say that I may, given my chronic condition, require several sessions. Furthermore, he had also advised me that the nature of these therapies is such that it might cause mild to moderate pain during the treatment. He was extremely careful and made me feel comfortable during the treatment. He has been treating me for a month now and it has brought 90% relief and I feel lot more better now. I found Norman’s treatments to be much more helpful than any painkillers. Norman is a skilled acupuncturist and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who is having similar issues as mine.

I am having pinched nerve in my both hands wrist. I had 5 session with Hand Therapist but still there was no recovery/response so I thought to give a try with Acupuncturist. I had a neck pinched nerve.I have tried Western medicine and I have had very small improvements so I have decided to give it a go with Chinese medicine. I have been seeing Norman periodically in the last 2 months and I can say that I’m almost 90% recovered. I still have a couple of weeks to go. The neck pinched nerve responded very well to cupping and acupuncture which released the tightness in the muscle and decreased the inflammation. I recently sustained an injury to my left hip that was so incredibly painful. I had gone to see a physiotherapist for 4-5 sessions with no relief and towards the last few sessions, it seemed like the physio had given up and was not providing me with any direct treatment, only informing me about exercises to strengthen my core. I have seen many acupuncturist before, but he is the best! If you live in Auckland, you're lucky. Please go to see Norman and his father, and you will feel better. As soon as I arrived in Auckland (the day there was a fire around the Sky Tree), I immediately had strong allergy symptoms - I still don't know what my body reacted to.I had to sleep in bed for 3 days straight - and still not feeling good at all. I found his clinic by googling, and decided to try. He responded to my email right away, and I could get an appointment on the next day. After the acupuncture session, I immediately felt the effects - my brain was less foggy, my nose became less stuffy, and it also stopped sneezing. I was also happy that I stopped feeling cold after the session. I went back to his clinic a week later for the second acupuncture session. I have had ongoing and debilitating back pain for the last 5 months. An X-Ray showed degenerative disc disease (DDD) with a compression of disc at L5-S1. I tried everything, physiotherapist, chiropractor and osteopath. I then made an appointment with Norman from Auckland City Acupuncture & Herb Clinic, and although at first I was a little apprehensive regarding the needles, and having to lie down for a long time I kept at it, and after a couple of sessions felt very reassured by Norman’s presence and persistence. From early on I was impressed with how the needles helped in reducing my back spasms, and how it made my body feel more relaxed afterwards. The more I relaxed over the upcoming sessions, the better the sessions became. Norman is very caring and does not give up, he is very interested in getting to the cause of the problem and will go out of his way to help research and give extra advice. His kindness and empathy made the absolute world of difference, especially early on when I did not really know what was happening to me. Knowing someone was genuinely very interested in improving my health helped me get through the debilitating back symptoms, and the subsequent emotional impact of a chronic health issue. Kindness goes a long way! I have had many sessions with Norman over the past few months, and Norman is really turning things around for me, the last few sessions have seen remarkable improvements. Just a few weeks ago I was using the aid of a walking stick for help getting on and off chairs, and for extra support when standing. I have since stopped using it, and can now walk close to normal pace. I am still on the road to recovery and although my pain is not perfect, because of Norman my pain levels are now 70-80% improved. I did at one point try a host of very strong pain killers, which honestly barely helped, and gave me unwanted symptoms, I have since discovered that allowing your own body to work as a pain killer via acupuncture is a much safer alternative where possible. Over the last couple of weeks, I got sent by a specialist to get an MRI. It has been discovered that I have L5-S1 DDD & disc compression and type 1 Modic bone changes in the vertebral endplates. The bone issue has made me a bit of a difficult case for acupuncture, but Norman never gave up on me. I wholeheartedly recommend you try for yourself, be patient and keep with it, it has worked for me, and I will keep going for maintenance. Christina

I had problems with both my knees. When I started my acupuncture sessions with Norman in the beginning of April, I couldn't walk down the stairs normally. I had to go down one step at a time, my right knee was so much in pain. With three acupuncture sessions and the herb patches, I can now walk the stairs down without any pain. Norman is very keen to make the correct diagnosis and asks a lot of questions before the sessions which is excellent. He does not presume or guess, his acupuncture needles have to go exactly to the points where the pain is. Acupuncture treatments take time to work, but I got very good results only after 3 sessions.

Norman provides a holistic assessment of your health issues. Once he understands that the treatment is targeted to address your symptoms under a multi-pronged approach. His treatment can alleviate symptoms such as GERD/Acid Reflux, bloating and other gastro-intestinal issues, and is effective for such ailments. Acupuncture is also effective for stress and other emotional issues. I found Norman to be much more helpful than gastrointestinal specialists - given his knowledge of diet and lifestyle recommendations. Norman also provides great customer service and has impeccable manners. I would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend Norman for any health related issues given that he is a highly skilled acupuncturist.

I visited Norman for a shoulder injury sustained training jiu jitsu. First off, at $15 for ACC treatment, the price was awesome. After having issues with my back on and off for years i booked in initially for acupuncture and then moved onto cupping which i had never tried before. WOW, the results are amazing, i have found a massive reduction in my pain and an over all improvement, I dont even need the painkillers i was taking twice daily anymore. Norman has been excellent in introducing me to the world of both acupuncture and cupping, which he has used in treating my chronic neck pain and associated headaches. I went to him after trying physio and osteo treatment over a number of years and after my GP basically said there was nothing that could be done, apart from painkillers. He explained very carefully what he was doing every step of the way and his treatments over the last few months have brought considerable relief. People, such as the previous reviewer, AJPearce, should understand that neck and back conditions are difficult to treat and that treatments such as cupping do leave bruising which lasts for a good week. Such conditions also require many treatments, and yes they can cause some pain but that is in the nature of the treatment, as Norman would have explained. I would also like to point out that, contrary to AJPearce's claims (which appear libelous), Norman is most certainly a registered practitioner. Finally putting him in the same category as a prostitute is a nasty, personal and unwarranted attack which just leaves the reader wondering what sort of minor ailment he was having treated. I can wholeheartedly recommend Norman as an acupuncturist.

I hit my steering wheel and suffered from both chest pain (rib sprain) and whiplash (neck sprain) after I was involved in a car accident 2 weeks ago. I was bitten by some sort of insect and had more than 70 herpes and blisters on my body, after I went to hospital and took the loratadine and antibiotic, the herpes were still daily increasing and quite itch. Jack is very professional. I was in a serious situation about my eczema. After a week of treatment, I started to get better and recovered. The chinese medicine that he used for me is precise and quite useful. I think Chinese Medincine is somehow in a more natural way for healing my eczema. It was because I used the steroid before. He was great with me, after couple session of acupuncture, my back pain was gone and then the rest of the session was more focus on my stomach problem, plus the herbal medicine he gave me.
