Re: Bowes Job - Rebuttal This client took seven months to make a decision. During that period the market changed and there was a mini building boom. The delay in decision meant that instead of building in the Summer period we had to build in the Winter. Site had a spring and water turned the build platform into a bog Four months of continuous rain One month of intermittent rain Five months of wet weather Site had to be trenched to allow water to run off but did not alter the bog that was created with wet clay Build 28 kilometres from office, Thames Coast Road. Road restricted to one way traffic two and a half months. Shortest travel time 1 hour. Longest travel time 2 and ¾ hours one way. Deficit 160 man hours in travel delays on this job. Meeting with client 7th of September 2017 listed maintenance items. Without obligation and without prejudice we offered to insulate and line their double garage without charge as goodwill. The client agreed and we felt this was compensation. The client employed floor coverers that botched a meter by two meter floor fill. The floor coverers also broke two ranch slider windows overriding our advice not to deal with that company. This was the clients responsibility not ours. This was obviously a bad experience for both parties but we can’t help people that have hidden agendas. Marshall Hutt
