We didn't go in here, but we stood under shelter from rain to take pic's & watch the light show on Harbour Bridge...

It's a beautiful place to hangout with friends, or a special someone, and see the pretty lights displayed from the Auckland Harbour Bridge. You can also talk a stroll on the boardwalk too. Best views at night of the city and AUCKLAND Skytower.

Lovely function location. Amazing main course (buffet) Main criticisms: the desserts were not the best & milk for tea could only be used from the coffee machine. Frothy milk in tea is awful, and an insult to tea drinkers. This can be easily rectified through the provision of fresh milk especially as the servers were not about to ask for it. Some of the toilets were out of order which was odd. The security staff at the door were friendly.

It was really a relaxed atmosphere, sat outside and had a good view . Food was good and the staff was friendly. Best of all, you are not crammed in nor are you hassled by people coming and going. A great place to discuss have meetings, and some good laughs.

Hadn't been for years so nice to lunch there today and see it still has the same nautical charm about it. Nice food, service and view too.

Got invited on a company event for a sailing race course with Elliot 7 and one of my most thrilling activity as I'm not into sailing or done other water activities apart from swimming in pools and beach. Felt very privileged to be inside this building and saw all the memorabilia of NZ sailing. Had drinks and nibbles in their bar area and also bought souvenir - shorts and shirt with RNZYS emblem which are so cool. The old building with quite outdated interior is not a downside of the rich history the building houses. There is a great view from the first floor of the outside surroundings of the marina and harbour.

Really a good place to spend at night

Superb club - in the traditional sense. A few well-worn corners that give away the Squadron's true purpose. A superb lay out that aptly lays out the Squadron's history on Auckland's waters. A dining room with enough life to be comfortable, but plenty of privacy to ensure one feels special dining among their party. Seafood dishes are delicious, and lamb and steak ensure everyone is happy. There's even fish and chips for the kids. A good wine and beer selection makes for a good transition between the dining room and separate bar - both with extraordinary views across the harbour. The centrepiece though: the America's Cup. Go here and enjoy a unique experience to really make for a special evening.

Food was good gastro pub fare in the upstairs bar but the service was a little slow. You can't beat the location though. Absolutely stunning and we can see the Americas Cup as well.

A nice place to spent time. Beautiful scenary, ambience and very peaceful.

What an awesome experience. Our group (of 18) had a private room for dinner. Service couldn't be faltered... even had name cards at the table! Super impressed. This all contributed to make the night really special. Thank you RNZYS!!

Great spot at one of the most famous yacht clubs in the world. Views of the bridge are stunning especially when the lights are on and More FM is synchronizing its music to the Vector light show. (See pictures). People must be accompanied by a member to get a drink or meal. Plenty of parking on the wharf.

Was amazing venue great food beautiful views

A medium size venue for functions and events. Amazing views of the city skyline or the harbour bridge. There are two levels - both have bars. The service was great. You can also view the trophies displayed on the first floor. Quite a collection!

It was great to witness an amazing member service at the Royal NZ Yatch Squadron. I being a member of a reciprocal club in the UK enjoyed the member benefits with some amazing food & service. The views to the sea are just stunning

Really enjoyed our lunch. Prices were reasonable. Was super clean with friendly staff. Great for cooperate functions.

We had a work conference here in the upstairs room. The staff and facilities were outstanding and I can genuinely say we will be going back for another work event soon.

Special place, you can see the American cup, party, eat and enjoy the views, all in one place. Plenty of trophies and all the major prizes from multiple events can be seen there too. Many venues suitable for different group sizes. Excellent food and service on top of all of that too. Well recommended indeed, must see to believe.

Fantastic evening farewell celebrations to a very special CEO. The food delicious made to feel very welcome and the view spectacular.

Attended a 2 day off-site business meeting here. Great venue - amazing history and atmosphere. Seeing 'The Cup' up close was amazing. Great outlooks from the upstairs room looking over the harbour to the bridge.

Well it is the royal nz yacht squadron so it's full of tradition and heritage. Wonderful photos of classic yachts and a trophy cabinet including the Americas cup. Good bar with a reasonable wine list and very good food. Excellent burgers. And a nice mix of members and guests. Great spot to view the harbour .

Loved the view and saw trophies

Fantastic place to improve your sailing skills or if you're new to sailing. I highly recommend the RNZYS if keen on learning sailing at any level. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Best view of Harbour from this place

You can see the hype is coming because of the America's cup but there's still parking if you plan to have a look at some luxurious motor launches and and a great view of the harbour Bridge and the harbour

Visiting on a Crystal cruise, we just had to see the America's Cup even though it was parked in the wrong country. We had a very laid back lunch on the terrace overlooking the water and then found our way upstairs to the trophy room. We had pictures taken with the trophy in San Francisco but wanted to add to our collection. I kept my hands to myself and got a great picture. My wife jumped the rope barrier and put her hand on the trophy.....not a good move. Alarm bells, sirens, people running...anyone would think we were trying to steal it back for the U.S. Fortunately, the club members were very good natured about it and no harm done. We appreciated their hospitality.

We had a pre Christmas lunch in there with my boy's mentor who had his name on the special list in the building. What a beautiful view, food and service. We love the Yatch history of NZ. Perfect for private fuction. Love it!!

The RNYS was awesome. The food was great. The view is breath taking.We absolutely enjoyed our ARG Christmas party there.

Function room is spacious with enough tables and chairs if you want to sit. Great dance floor area. Bar has good selection of beer and wine.

Great staff and atmosphere

I came here for a seminar last week. The location and facilities were great and there was a nice view out over Auckland Harbour. I arrived to Auckland CBD by ferry and used a Lime scooter for the last few km rather than catch an Uber through busy morning traffic.

Good stuff. Members have a full experience through out the year. Had a event there and it was amazing

Came here for a Christmas party. Amazing food, staff at the bar need to up there game though. She wouldn't serve one of my husbands colleagues and stated that he's had too much. Well excuse me, who made you judge of who can and can't drink. You even served alcohol to a minor as well, shame on you! What happen to asking for ID? Or has that gone out the window this year? She should be fired!

Great club with a distinguished history and of course home of the Americas Cup. A very active Club you can crew if you can't afford a boat the have an awesome social calendar with events and races plus the usual club restaurant and bar. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is a New Zealand yacht club, and the club behind New Zealand's America's Cup campaigns, under the guises of New Zealand Challenge and Team New Zealand. It held the America's Cup from 1995 until 2003, becoming in 2000 the first non-American holder to successfully defend the trophy. After Team New Zealand's victory in the 2017 event, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron are the current holders of the America's Cup. The club was established in 1871 in Auckland with the name of the "Auckland Yacht Club". Its name was changed to "Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron" when it was granted royal patronage in 1902. The patron of the Squadron is Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.It is located in Westhaven Marina, Auckland, close to the Auckland Harbour Bridge facing on to the Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf.

Great members bar, with a deck up high looking out over the harbor. Drinks were a bit pricey. Nice to see the America's Cup up close. Rest of the rooms look like they were decorated in the 1960's - so the 4 stars is really just for the deck in the bar.
