Went for the buffet. Good range of food with gluten free options too. Pancake machine, and soft serve ice cream maker. I'll be going back.

Always good to be in an area with a positive atmosphere. The sound for the rugby commentary is now quite good. I wonder though, if the lights above the big screen were turned off, the screen would not look quite so 'washed out' and be seen more easier, further back. I'm in my late 60s yes, neither eyesight nor hearing is not as it should be. I really appreciate the services laid on by the Club, your staff are polite and helpful. Somewhere where things are done correctly. Keep up the wonderful service you provide.

Attended a birthday party on a Sunday night. Was very busy but loads of yummy food (buffet) and dining area was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Well set out had no major problems getting from table to buffet in a wheelchair.

Stunning modern club in Christchurch. The serving staff are friendly and welcoming even though we arrived at a very hectic, busy time for them. The club is new, with lovely clean rooms and well equipped games rooms. There is a good restaurant, and the club has catering facilities for family and other events. Easy access and plenty of parking space. I was impressed.

Was at a function at Embers. The meats were to die for, the ribs were so flavourful and smoky and the beef was juicy and tender. I think I might prefer this Argentinian barbecue over a popular barbecue place on Cashel.

The Papanui have a great food that is so great that it’s very filling food. I have worked here for a year and they are the best employers I ever had and the head chef is the best boss I have is so nice even once let me eat at buffet for free because he was pleased with my work even though would of paid for it because so great, filling food and it was a great diner. I would highly recommend eating here and the buffet because there is much filling great food to choose from. And gym is great and worth joining. And hasHigh quality workout equipment that is great for anyone who wants to stay healthy. So yes I highly recommend that people eat at this Papanui Club especially the buffet and I also recommend for those that are interested in joining a gym to join Papanui Club gym.

Beautiful newish building with a modern layout which is very attractive. Huge carpark which is well lit at night. Great atmosphere with usually lots of people enjoying themselves. Prices for food are very reasonable, especially the all you can eat self serve selection. Good quality food too. Kept clean by efficient and friendly staff .Has gaming room and bar as well as outdoor dining area with heaters. Recommended.

Had a farewell for a good friend that passed away. A good place for us all to meet up a raise a glass of two for an old friend.

Went a couple of times while visiting the city with a friend who is a member and had a great time. You have to be a member of this club (or one of the associates) to be able to dine or drink here. The food was good. When there is a sports game on the place can become very busy. Earlier in the evenings there is more of an older crowd but there are some great raffles. The younger crowd come in later on.

Small hiccup with the logistics and also communication, but they were very good in the end and even adapted when we had to go to level 2. Would recommend signing up there too as its well worth the $30

Came in for my brothers birthday on Sunday and was absolutely amazed with the service. Food was average, had the three course carvery. The meat was fabulous but the potatoes were a bit dry. Staff were outstanding for such a young team of individuals the level of professionalism held left me gobsmacked. Sam and Natalia both stood out, after a small issue with one of our orders they sorted the matter without any issues. Both very friendly and helpful. Will be back soon !!

I am not a member ! But after taking my fiance and daughter to dinner at the buffet I would join in a heartbeat if we lived closer to papanui the buffet was AMAZING great choices of food everything cooked to perfection! Staff were lovely also we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience and have recommended anyone who hasn't been to give it a try ! I could only suggest that the guy who stands by the cavery not stand and stare while you're getting your food even though it was a buffet it made me feel like I was grabbing too much food when I looked up and had him staring straight at me lol All in all 10/10

We had our wedding reception at the Papanui Club Embers restaurant on Friday 21st October 2016. The staff (special thanks to Eileen Strickland) were fantastic to work with, have great communication, always so approachable and professional throughout the planning process. The night went off without a hitch, the atmosphere in the restaurant were fantastic (warm and cosy), the wedding cake was pretty, and food was divine. All our guest were very happy and kept on telling us what a great venue, good food and a wonderful night they had. Thanks Papanui Club, we’ll certainly remember this amazing night for life, and would definitely recommend Embers to anyone who's planning a small wedding like us (~50 guests).

Great space for everyone going in a group or traveling as a family. Pool tables are free to use but are slightly cramped. A combination of both music and multiple games being produced on screens can cause confusion on what sound came from where. Large building with many spaces there is sure to be something for everyone.

Have noticed over the past six months that the food quality is not what it used to be. Disappointed in the carvey which used to be very tasty with cauliflower, broccoli and carrots in cheese sauce not now available. Staff very unfriendly and no manners. My summer job is a tour driver around the South Island, I get to stay in some of the best hotels and eat at some of the best rated resturants with my passengers. The buffet meals at the Papanui Club are on par, if not better than the Skyline Gondola or the Hermitidge. Those 2 are the bench mark buffet restaurants. I cannot fault the food at the club.

Went for lunch for first time this year. New buffet set-up for $26, with greater range of food, in all areas. Started with lovely Creme of vegetable soup. Fresh salmon and lovely range of salads for entree. Then main of Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, and great range of side dishes. Apple and pear crumble and ice'cream for dessert. Stonkered! Simple and fast bar meals of course to buy alcohol you must either be a member or have someone else sign you in. Lovely staff and very nice surroundings.

Tables take ages to clean of dishes but tables never wiped clean with spray or cloth. Staff not friendly and don't smile. When first opened very busy as curious guests but has since dwindled especially Sundays. Bring back music outside when warm and sunny. If raining hold inside. Had 2 meals that we couldn't eat and spoke to head lady. A full refund was given for one meal. We have not eaten there since as Harewood Tavern has wondèrful lunches for $15 and cant be faulted. We will continue to support the Club but only with drinks at this stage. Most reviews pre October 2016.

Friday 20/05/2016 time 18:15 Had the 3 cores roast :-( it was a very stingy serving of the roast beef and the small bit of chicken was very dry. The taller one of the two lady's dressed in the chefs outfits serving was very un friendly and rude. Not what we are use to at this club. 🙁
