r.I got my woundful amazing little fur babie my cat from here 20 years ago. She has been with me the whole 20 years she was my angel. I have disabilities and i have to stay at home every day and she was with me all day. She sadly got put to sleep last week but i wonted to thank all the lovly people that gave me my wounderful little babie she made my world the best ever and she was a one in a million.
J.My partner and I adopted our cat from there and the staff were so kind and helpful at every step during the adoption process. Our cat came to us healthy and well looked after, and thanks to their on-site shop we also feel well set up to give our new family member the best care.
J.We found a very sick hedgehog in our garden. We took him inside and put him in a large container with a warm hot water bottle, cat food and water and rang the SPCA for advice. They sent out Nick in the SPCA ambulance who was so kind and caring…. It meant so much to us. He spent time explaining how sick the hedgehog was and took the hedgehog away and later let us know the hedgehog had died which we really appreciated. It meant a lot to us to know the hedgehog wasn’t suffering anymore. We have made a donation to SPCA and appreciate their kindness and support 😔
M.We adopted a kitten and the staff were fa ntastic. Genuinely caring, helpful and we went away with a new family member! Also great value.

This is where I got my Russian Blue!! An elderly cat that was about to be put down - but my 2 year old son (back in 2003) and this cat got along immediately. And they became brothers till the earthquake in 2010 - sadly my cat passed away and life never feel the same.
We hope that this SPCA will continue helping everybody create awesome memories.
God blessed them all.

T.We took some pet food out and the staff were lovely and showed us around. Lots of gorgeous unusual rabbits (wish we'd taken more rabbit food, but they seemed happy with the cat and dog food). Soon it will be kitten and puppy season so they're always in need of puppy and kitten food. Great idea for the holidays

L.We were holidaying at terrace downs. A beautiful little black cat friended us while at our holiday home. All other residents were not in residence so my son and I went door to door to see if anyone owned her. We put her in the garage for night with a comfy bed as didn’t want her staying the night in 1degree temperature. Not knowing who owned her but not wanting to encourage her incase she was loved somewhere else. I quickly fell in love with her as did my fiancé and son. However we live in Auckland and wasn’t an option to get her home. So we called the spca. They told me (as it was lockdown level 4 nation wide) that they could only come rescue if an animal was endangered or critically needed care. Well they came and collected the little smooch from a lodge that very nicely said they’ed hold her till spca got there as we had to drive back to Akld next day. I was devastated to leave her. She captured our hearts. I hope that she has found a lovely family that will fall in love with her as we did. Thank you ladies at SPCA Christchurch for putting my mind at ease and coming to save her. She will make a beautiful pet. She was with us 2 days and even when we put her outside she didn’t leave us. So remote I think she was abandoned. You run an amazing service. Loved you for a short time little girl. I hope you have a happy loving life. 💋

K.Adopted two kittens from SPCA at the end of lockdown. A huge fan of the service they provide and that they vaccinate and desex animals prior to adopting them out. The adoption process itself was very easy and the staff are absolutely lovely, the fee charged was very reasonable considering what is involved. My kittens are ten months old now and are so friendly and smoochy. Could not imagine life without them now. Highly recommend adopting from the SPCA.
E.Clean, tidy, well-stocked with things you need, friendly and helpful staff. Long way from a bus stop so wear good shoes for walking if you rely on the bus... Really handy to nee motorway tho, excellent!

K.Easy to get to and plenty of car parks when I was there. The path to the top was easy enough to walk and the lookout at the top was good - shame it was a dusty day for photos for me, but I'm sure the views are great normally!
F.These guys do a great job taking care of the lost, forgotten or mistreated animals in our society. Found a lovely wee rabbit and the took him and hopefully will find a home for the wee fella. If your looking at adopting why not pay these guys a visit and give a home to someone who truly needs it

C.Adopted a rabbit from here, and she was already toilet trained, microchipped, vaccinated, and very clearly taken care of well. I can't believe how cheap the adoption charge was with all of that taken care of! Will definitely be adopting next bunny here. If you're considering getting an animal, please consider going to the SPCA first before any petshops as they are always super full and really need the room! If the animal has been there for a while, they will be friendly, guarantee it.

K.Fantastic staff. I found myself a kitty here and she was well trained by the staff here before she was able to come home with me. I was given all the information I needed in order to look after my kitty the best I can.

Reception were too busy at the time, so only viewed puppies in their pen
We left but returned once we called our contact from Kuri.
On our return we were then able to see the puppies outside their pens and we're given a thorough explanation as to their breeding and personalities by very helpful staff member
So would highly recommend others to adopt from SPCA, as they are thorough and only want the best homes for the animals they have for adoption

R.Visited a lot of SPCAs all over the world including our own SPCA. I must say that CHCH SPCA is by far the cleanest and well thought off in terms of animals well being and structure. The staff there were very professional and you can see the passion in them. They took time to explain to us and my lil one. The lil one enjoyed his time there.
