P. U.If I am looking for a good hearty feed at great prices, local club bars and restaurants are always my go to.
And this one....woah! Amazing!
I was catching up with a cousin who I hadn't seen for some time, and she mentioned that she was a member here so off we go!
We all started with Coffee, and this was perfect, the coffee was delicious and came to our table very quicky.
We then ordered our food, and as you can imagine, the food had a very oceanic flair! And it looked amazing.
There is a delicious array of seafood options, and I had to try a few of them so I ordered the Seafood Chowder and a piece of Fresh Fish which was Terakihi. The other diners ordered the Beef Cheeks, the grilled fish and chips and a HamBurger.
My chowder was perfect (with the obligatory slice of garlic bread on the side!) It was loaded with fresh seafood, and was a good consistency and a deep, rich flavour.
The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly, melting under the fork, and accompanied with a delicious mash and some fresh vegetables.
The fish was so fresh, you could tell that it was caught that day, had a great flavour and texture.
Thank you to the entire team for an amazing afternoon meal!

P. S.Love the staff and the food here, awesome meals for the price. Unfortunately I felt you're not made welcome by the Fishing Club (restaurant is inside) If non members, I never renewed my club membership as I didn't enjoy the club atmosphere BUT the restaurant is amazing 🤩

We had a wonderful experience at the Fishing Club today. Absolutely swamped with a surprise cruise ship of 2,800 people landing without warning and the team were outstanding. 6 stars to the kitchen team for sending out great quality meals when buried in demanding tourists.
Thank you for a great experience, you guys certainly made Gidborne memorable for us.

There are a few of us that are not impressed with that guy. Stay there Maryanne because you are clear precise and do that job well. The final thing I want to say is it's time for me to win the draw because I haven't won since I joined like 10yrs ago lol. Keep up the good work team. You are awesome.

G. “. M.I've been to a few of Gisborne's apparent "finest" and nothing comes close to the meals here. It does what it says on the tin. It is a club so no table service and that is fine. Simply means there are no expectations. The staff were very pleasant, the food, good kiwi tucker. The atmosphere was also good. I had the best steak I've ever had in Gisborne here tonight. Save your money, head here first.

Although i believe our tchrs organised Dj, singer, candles, balloons & MC the ambience & venue were divine.
One bummer the toilets are cramped with poor circulation of air for the amount of people that were there.
