H. G.Took a load of cats in...staff came out to help. One lovely gal cleaned out the travel case for me. Didnt have to have the smell on my return journey...most appreciated

A. J.We adopted 3year old female cat missy she was very shy but has blossom so much, with our other cat moochie male tabby he loves her so much. Only down side is make sure microchip has correct address and information in book has weight etc, we took our cat in to vet for check up 2 weeks later and still had old owner address on microchip.
D. R.Great for a cheap trip with the kids. The feline area is fab! Lovely clean area and I can tell thecats lap it up! No cages!!!!! 5 stars. And they helped me with my dying duckling without hesitation. Great organization.

Cat and kitten rooms allow you to sit and interact with them. All details of the felines available are up on the wall - along with some fun facts.
Small animal area isn't as easy to interact with the animals - rabbits and guinea pigs - when I visited. They are situated between the dog runs a little out of the way. The enclosures appear to have been custom built by the local MenzShed.
The dogs are happy to say Hi through the chain link fences, their details attached to their indoor kennels. There are pet items for purchase at reception.
A. U.Thank you for rescuing the kitten I adopted 3 years ago! She was called Magic before I renamed her, and I can see why. She's a timid girl with a bent/broken tail and extra toes on all paws. She was so tiny and frail to begin with and due to her bad start in life she developed a few illnesses shortly after I adopted her, but she fought and now she's a little adventurer with a huge personality, the fluffiest belly, and sooo much to say. She's the light of my life! The staff here are all wonderful and the animals are well looked after.
O. D.Very good cause went to drop of a cat bed that our cats didn't use and there was no questions asked in and out within 10 seconds
C. J.We had to get rid of our two kittens. Which we hated doing The spca really helped they told us what was happening and when they finally got adopted and let us know they had gone to a good home
K.I love it there. I love animals. Especially cats and kittens and puppies. I wouldn't mind working here. Even though I have no experience in working with animals, animal welfare and animal rescue. But I do hate animal cruelty. Something I take very very seriously. I will not stand by and let any animal owner be nasty and cruel to their animals. A woman who lives in Christchurch murdered her innocent bunny rabbits because she didn't want them to be rehomed which is class as animal cruelty. And a miniature horse down in Dunedin in the Dunedin suburb of Waitati died of 41 stab wounds injuries after it was stabbed 41 times. So I would love to work here with the animals. Very very much as I said I love animals and I am so against cruelty to animals and animal cruelty. One thing I will not tolerate.
V. H.I befriended a stray kitten. I took her to the SPCA Palmerston North to hopefully rehome her. The people there said she was beautiful and should have no trouble rehoming her. Thank you as I could not keep her.
