I love Sustainability Trust and am lucky to live within walking distsnce. I am collecting batteries at my work to take there, and have taken some small electrical items. There are small fees for these services but it's so much better than putting them in land fill. Have just found out they take old pots and pans for free!

Great showroom and retail. Helpful and relaxed staff. Off-street parking. Coffee cart out front. LIbrary of how to books. Great destination. Go there: recycle your stuff, buy some green items, and educate yourself. 😀

Excellent service, very pleased with the installation. I got it done for free because I applied last year when it was free, they kept to their word I had it done last Friday.

Wilderkids is a great holiday programme, my kids love it. Is great they get out into the outdoors as much as possible!

Good things: informative displays, lots of helpful volunteers, free electric vehicle charging. Also, they can recycle batteries, light bulbs and any kind of appliance (computers, TVs, etc).
The downside is that it's really expensive. Although in Auckland there are computer recycling companies that will take your stuff for nothing, in Wellington you'll have to pay and it's quite expensive. We were charged over $90 for two computers, a hard drive,, some light bulbs and some batteries. Mobile phone recycling is free, however.

Karl came and visited us at home and gave us a thorough list of the various options we have to increase the Sustainability of insulation and warmth of the house. He was very helpful and guided us through the various options and we are looking forward to having a warmer and dryer home.
