Food was yum. Atmosphere was strange as everyone in there was staring at us. We are a Samoan Maori blended family, but we're looked at like we came from Mars! Maybe it was coz we just came from church and Hubby/daughter had island dress ware on? Anyway...Don't care.

Friendly quiet atmosphere. Great food and generous wine serves. It's a YES from us. Awesome service from really friendly and welcoming staff. Kaha nui, great effort team. Thanks for your mahi, much appreciated.

Bar staff where friendly. Restaurant was shocking, bad service a terrible food - fish off and thick soggy batter and oyster Kilpatrick the oysters where cooked and hot and off .wen I complained the 3 men were very rude

Food good and great atmosphere

Yeah, not quite the same since the restaurant changed hands. Very pleasant outlook though and great value!

We were made very welcome by the manager of the club. Because we had a couple of drinks and the atmosphere was brilliant, we thought we would have a light meal. My husband ordered oysters Kilpatrick, I ordered scallops in a creamy champagne sauce. We ended up leaving 90% of our meal. The oysters were the worst oysters Kilpatrick he has ever had (and he is generally kind about his food opinions). I couldn't eat mine, as it was a full bowl of yellow cream soup with the rubbery scallops floating in it. I can't even say it remotely resembled the cream reduction champagne sauce I expected. The rest of the meals we saw going out looked fantastic, like the burgers, fish and chips etc and everyone looked happy eating them. I would just advise being very careful what you order from the menu. We are not fussy, special people, we were just thrown by the meal. We are happy with average. We are out of towners and not members so thank you very much for your hospitality.

A truly great venue, right on the river. Well appointed club, with a very big following in Whaka. Hosts some very prestigious boat fishing tournaments.

OMG the View is unforgettable. Bar and restuarant are well laid out and clean. Staff seem pleasant. Then by far the best part is the food fresh, reasonable sized, hav to b for price, I reccomend the fish

Nice family environment regional selections of beverages with excellent pricing. There has recently been a change in the shifts so commentary on the standard and quality of the meals has not been tested

Friendly staff great food

Excellent place to refuel for a meal or a bite to eat. Choices are many and varied. Big screen to whatch a game or meet up with other members. Lots of history on the walls for past and present fishing records.

The place is always great. Awesome lunch there today. Very yummy Kit.

Me and my boy got free coffees here when we dropped in one Wednesday afternoon. Also I heard legendary rockers FLING TEDDY are playing there New Year's Eve 2020 it's going to go OFF!

Just had the Satay chicken burger... Bloody yum and quick and affordable.. Well done Skippers.. A couple of cold beers and a picture of a view up and down the river.

I was here on the 3rd of March 2020 and I had The cooks pork. With spinach and plum sauce. I quite enjoyed it I hope I can have it again when I visit from Australia

Had a relaxing time with friends. Really enjoyed it.

Meals are excellent for the price point. Drinks are well overpriced, especially given the budget setting. Would be 5 stars if the 3 starters we ordered weren't on 2 plates, with a side of attitude from the kitchen girl. For a group booking, seated across 3 tables - plating it as two was most unhelpful.
