M. R.Food was yum. Atmosphere was strange as everyone in there was staring at us. We are a Samoan Maori blended family, but we're looked at like we came from Mars! Maybe it was coz we just came from church and Hubby/daughter had island dress ware on? Anyway...Don't care.

K. F.We were made very welcome by the manager of the club. Because we had a couple of drinks and the atmosphere was brilliant, we thought we would have a light meal.
My husband ordered oysters Kilpatrick, I ordered scallops in a creamy champagne sauce.
We ended up leaving 90% of our meal. The oysters were the worst oysters Kilpatrick he has ever had (and he is generally kind about his food opinions). I couldn't eat mine, as it was a full bowl of yellow cream soup with the rubbery scallops floating in it. I can't even say it remotely resembled the cream reduction champagne sauce I expected.
The rest of the meals we saw going out looked fantastic, like the burgers, fish and chips etc and everyone looked happy eating them. I would just advise being very careful what you order from the menu.
We are not fussy, special people, we were just thrown by the meal. We are happy with average.
We are out of towners and not members so thank you very much for your hospitality.
J.A truly great venue, right on the river. Well appointed club, with a very big following in Whaka. Hosts some very prestigious boat fishing tournaments.

S.Meals are excellent for the price point. Drinks are well overpriced, especially given the budget setting. Would be 5 stars if the 3 starters we ordered weren't on 2 plates, with a side of attitude from the kitchen girl. For a group booking, seated across 3 tables - plating it as two was most unhelpful.
