I was in the South Island on holiday when car issues started. Wayne readily diagnosed the issue, used his contacts the the replacement parts, which are in very limited supply and got them skillfully fitted. His reputation as the best person to looking after European cars is well want. He also also took the time to point out a few upcoming issues that I should get dealt to once back home. All that and I still made it too my ferry home. I can't recommend him enough. Thanks Wayne.

On Christmas Eve, we were having major car troubles, and although Altech Car Clinic was officially closed for the Christmas holiday, Wayne was kind enough to open up shop to see us. The vehicle was too dangerous to keep driving, so over the holidays, he even found a part in Australia and got it fixed in record time as soon as the part was available! Not only that, but on the day of the breakdown (when he had guests shortly arriving to his home for Christmas Eve), still drove us over 30 mins to meet my partner's parents to collect us since we didn't have a vehicle. He certainly saved us on the day, and his kindness, professionalism, and unbelievable promptness to complete the job did not go unnoticed. I would highly highly recommend his service to anyone. This kind of customer service truly rarely exists these days. Couldn't thank you enough Wayne!!

Wayne was recommended to me by a fellow Mercedes owner after I complained about what I felt was poor service from another local Dealership. (My engine light was on and they kept telling me they couldn't find the fault)!!!!! On contacting Wayne I was instantly impressed by his knowledge and obvious love of European vehicles. My car was booked in on Monday and a diagnosis was carried out. Wayne explained the issues to me and the approx. cost. Parts were ordered, fitted and my car was ready to be picked up the next day. There were no hidden surprises and my car is running better than it has for the past 3 years. I have no hesitation in recommending Altech Car Clinic to any European car owner. Thankyou very much Wayne I'll be back.

Im so happy i found Wayne to work on my Merc. Wasn't happy with another local company who didn't really care that much about my vehicle. Wayne really cared and did everything to make sure my vehicle and i were happy. Lots of information and nothing done until i was aware of what needed doing. Wayne Hutchinson I got to know this man when my Wife owned a Mercedes no one in Blenheim could fix the problem and was highly recommended by AA here in Marlborough,one quick phone call to Wayne after checking it out the parts were ordered and the repairs were underwayI can highly recommend this man in his honesty knowledge he is fully qualified in high performance vehicles Ferrari BMWs Mercedes all sorts,Auto Electrician Diesel Mechanic this man is a one stop workshop in fact you have to see it for yourself you could eat off the floor. My old toy car broke down in the middle of nowhere and wouldn't start. I called AA for towing and Wayne for advice. Within a few minutes Wayne turned up, streamlined the towing process with AA and gave me a lift home! This saved me a lot of time and energy. Wayne then fixed the car within a few days. Thanks again Wayne. Highly recommended.

Wayne is first rate to deal with, reasonable rates (not city prices) has extensive knowledge all all vehicles European and exotic. Loan vehicles are available. Take a trip to Marlborough leave your car with Wayne and enjoy the Sounds, Nelson etc.

Wayne has gone above and beyond what I expected...my 2003 Mercedes Benz e320 had always been serviced by a Mercedes Benz dealership and what I got from Altech Car Clinic is by far in access of anything I've experience before. the communication is spot on. the completed repairs and service work is perfect. the price is very fair and I as I drove away, my car felt and sounded like it did 9 years earlier when I bought it. Just had Wayne put new head bolts into my E 63, and give it a service. The car has never sounded sweeter and is running smoother than ever before. I strongly recommend Wayne for all European car work. I had imported a Porsche Cayenne from the UK and had Wayne clean it for any salt damage and service. He cleaned the car and sprayed on a coating to reseal and carried out a complete service of the vehicle. I was very impressed how professional the job was am totally happy with how the car looks (underside) and how well it purrs. Having had the manufacturer over the years service my cars I know now using Wayne that the Altech car service is superior, quicker and cheaper. Thank you Wayne.

What a relief to find such a knowledgeable and experienced mechanic with such a well-equipped workshop. Wayne is very able and willing to work on anything from a bog standard Toyota Corolla to a Maserati. Wayne's service, knowledge, expertise and friendly demeanor are par none. We took our car to Wayne at Altech Car Clinic on Monday. Given the price of the electronic and mechanical parts required to be imported for our ageing European car we had decided with some trepidation to write the car off. However 2 days later Wayne, knowing our situation rang and said “if you are still interested come and get your car, it’s all fixed and ready to go.” With his knowledge and network of contacts he was able to secure all the parts from another younger, same model car. My wife and I are impressed with this big bloke with a huge heart. His efforts to make sure we could keep the car was amazing. If you’re lucky enough to breakdown then contact this bloke at his immaculate workshop. (Another gob smacked experience). Thanks again Wayne. Regards Bill

During a relocation drive from Christchurch to Northland we experienced a break down not long after we set off. After searching the net we found Altech and had the car towed there (risky as we had no prior knowledge of their work/reputation). Upon hearing our story, Wayne and Andy were amazing, they prioritised finding the root cause of our car troubles, ordered the part quickly so it was delivered overnight, got up at the crack of dawn to collect the part so they could get the car back together with minimal disruption to our travel plans. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to this awesome team! They were professional, empathetic, reasonably priced and went above and beyond what was expected to provide us with the best customer servie. The only down side for us is that they are not our local mechanic!! Absolutely 110% recommend this team to everyone who has a European car, they are legends!!

What I love about the service is that there are no surprises. He advised us when we were last serviced that the disks were at their limit and at the next juncture that they would need replacing, he also new what the cost would be so we knew what to expect. He is very knowledgeable and when you watch him work you appreciate that he is very competent and really time efficient. No hunting for tools they all have a place and are in their place. My poor VW Passat was running so poorly and having all sorts of issues. I left it with Wayne and 2 days later picked it up and wow! Running like an absolute dream. I was really impressed with the speed and quality of the work he did and the price was alot better than I was expecting. I can highly recommend Altech for awesome service, communication and pricing. Wow! Wayne at Altech is the one guy you want to turn up when you break down, and then have him fix your car and service your car. He stopped on the side of the road to offer me a hand after my X5 dropped its v-belt. He arranged transport of 5 bikes I was carrying as the towee couldn't retrieve the car till the next day. He put me up in his house for the night. He fixed the v-belt. Then he fixed the idler pulley when that went. Then he serviced it. The service of the auto-trans made it run like a different car. If you have a nice car and like to look after it - treat the car and yourself to Altech's services. Best auto shop experience I've had.

The service provided was professional, timely and comprehensive. Their communication with my situation was perfect, explained in simple terms (for someone who is not mechanically minded) what the issue was and providing me with the full fault report within an hour. I was also given options on how to fix the issue and what they recommend for the outcome I wanted. all round being transparent & understanding. I will not be going elsewhere and would highly highly recommend! They did a great job!

We took our Fiat Ducato to Wayne after a friend recommended him. Wow! He went well and above what we expected. His knowledge is out of this word and his workmanship is impeccable. He said he would do an assessment before he touched it so we knew what to expect and that’s exactly what he did. He kept in touch and told us what he was doing all the way along. He said the van would be out of service for about 2-3 weeks. We got her back yesterday just on two weeks and the delay was courier not Wayne. His knowledge of foreign cars is amazing. Wow Wayne is just not a mechanic he is a magician 😊 I took my Audi in for a cambelt and water pump replacement and he picked up that my car had a major safety problem and he sorted it out with the dealer I bought it from to get the problem sorted. Wayne is very knowledgeable on all makes and models and is price competitive, why would you go anywhere else ? This is the third European car he’s worked on for me and nothings a problem, very hardworking and honest guy A ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Car is running better than ever !

It was via word of mouth that I found out about Altech Cars. I made contact with Wayne via the internet and he was prompt with his reply and the follow up of its service & repair work. Wow, what a privilage to have found out about Wayne at Altech Car Clinic. I was really happy and nicely overwhelmed when he really went that extra mile, he gave me several options of what could be done with my Mercedes S500. He did all the work in very good time, supplied my with a nice low K Audi A4 I had over the 3 days he had my car and when i got back he had exceeded my expections and kept the costs down. I hear he is also the go to Motor Technician for the big name dealerships, if they have any issues that they cannot solve in their own hi tech workshops they send the vehicles to Altec. We are so lucky to have him and his business here in Marlborough, especially if you own a European Car. Thanks again Altech

If you have a European car in Marlborough this is the only place I would recommend. Up front honest advice, and a level of care and expertise that is well worth your custom.

Our car is running like a dream after the first decent service it has ever had. Wayne knows what he's talking about! He is honest and communicates clearly so there are no unexpected costs and his passion is evident. I wouldn't bother taking out car to anyone else. Professionalism at its best!

Wayne fixed my car, finding an inferior previous repair on my Merc, replacing parts and back on the road again! Absolute pleasure dealing with a man who knows his stuff and excellent customer service. Highly recommend Wayne when you want no bull, expert advice and repair with a great result.

Great knowledge and experience is offered at Altech. Problems identified fast and repaired fast to save excessive spending. Altech Car Clinic have world class equipment and a great workshop that is always in Great condition so you can see from that your vehicle will be respected in the same way. Uses Correct oils in European vehicles where most garages out here don't which causes systems to clog up with carbon etc. Highly recommended.

Wayne has been my mechanic now since 2003 when I dragged my old POS Ford Fairmont in to be rescued. Since then he's made his way through our Toyota Prado, Chrysler 300, Holden Commodore S/W to our current Kia Optima and Honda Civic. In all this time his service and advice have been superb. This guy knows engines and car systems from back-to-front. Everything from stationary naval-class diesel generators to hybrid and electric cars. He has continually retrained in places like Germany with Mercedes Benz and has spent big money on the systems needed to service everything, from a Toyota Vitz to a Bugatti Veyron (seriously - ask him for photos). There would be very few, if any, car issues that he would not understand at first glance and nothing he can't fix. He's the guy that car outfits bring their problems to when they've failed to solve them. He'll tell you the costs up front and how to keep your car in good shape. He does not skimp on oils or other materials as your bog-standard car-service department does. A man who loves his work and it shows. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I took my Jeep to Wayne for its 200,000 klm service, I got back a completely different vehicle absolutely an amazing difference, it is quieter, more responsive, more powerful, smoother , it is running the best it ever has since I've owned it. We have a VW Beetle Cabriolet. It sat at Topp Motors for a month and nothing happened - no contact, no action, no car! This is the first time I've been to a workshop without the FEELING of having been hit of the head!!! My old VW R5 Touareg with quarter of million kms was actually running really well (I thought) until Wayne did his magic, now I have 200hp back under the bonnet, what an unbelievable difference, being an retired A-Grade mechanic myself - I Have never met anyone in the industry with such confidences & ability!!! Highly recommended place to go for all your mechanical needs, Wayne has worked on several of our cars now and each one has came back much better than before, he is now known as the mechanical guru as he’s worked on not only on our bmws but also the Holden’s as well. Couldn’t fault anything!!

Wayne sorted out all my problems! I'd had an ongoing oil leak caused by a bad repair done by another workshop. Altech went above and beyond to fix my issue - and cost effectively, too. They really know their stuff.

Wayne is very experienced and wants to do the best job he can. He also knows his stuff with the older cars (mid 90s and pre OBD2) Very focussed on customer satisfaction.

Heard about this place via word of mouth, emailed, got a text saying call, easy as booked me in, gave me a courtesy car, phoned me in a couple of hours with a full run down, got the parts in overnight, boom car ready next day, knows his stuff, cars never run so good, definitely recommend, not going anywhere else now.
