Edgewater Automotive are excellent! They helped me out the same day I called. I was just passing through town when my car broke down, they took a look at my car and got all the parts to repair it very quickly. Really appreciate the efficiency and quality of work. The staff are super helpful and friendly too.

Great mechanics, good honest pricing and great workmanship. Team are easy to deal with and provide such a high level of service that I have not experienced elsewhere in Christchurch. Don't think about going anywhere else, just call these guys!

I took my car in for the plan b service and they noticed my front brakes were very worn. The brakes were able to be replaced that day and price was very reasonable. It was a rainy day and they kindly dropped me home while I waited. A great team to work with happy to have this place as my local garage and will definitely go back Rach

Friendly and fast service. However, I guess the price are quite expensive especially for the labour. It was $90+ per labour. But they are transparent for letting us know that one of the problems (identified during WOF) are interconnected so they don’t fix unnecessarily. They also let us know where to get our tyres changed if we wan’t affordable tyres, so that’s a bonus point.

Have dealt with the guys here a couple times, have been great. A late notice bookings was a bonus for me. Very detailed and professional with their work. Explained everything and made it easy, very honest. Have referenced a couple friends here too.

I know this garage is the best place to go. Been on and off for 3 years with this wonderful service. They just not helping-out for the sake of money but they really make sure your car is ready for road again and customer is satisfied. Very friendly and LEGIT! worth everything. Thanks for fixing my windscreen wiper on Saturday and few WOF in the past. Highly recommended guys!

Nothing is ever a problem with these guys, such a pleasure to deal with and is very hands on when it comes to communication. I'm certain they gave my Mrs a break on the bill with the last repair! Awesome business to have in our neighbourhood.

Legit work, would recommend, got my WOF done for hyundai coupe 1998. First WOF failed on brakes, tyres and exhaust leak. Preety much expecting that to happen, so asked them to get it fixed. Felt like charged bit high on price but seems like its not that much too complain about if the work is done at very good standard level. Drive back home and could see some other issues such as water pump, handle lock has also been fixed. Like that extra bit of service so rating 5 for that. Hope to get the rear tires and brakes job done soon. Thank you for making my ride safe keep up that standard work and good customer service. 😊

Have been going to edgeware for many years now and they never fail to produce a great service. Wayne and will are always honest, fair and very easy to deal with plus the mechanics are great with workman ship second to none. Georgia the office lady is also very friendly and informative. I always know my vehicle is in the very best hands with the team at edgeware. Highly recommend to all!

Took the car to service and wOF. Good service but got charged more expensive than other mechanics. Two tyres with Wof and service cost almost $700. Previous mechanics 4 tyres and had same service for less than 600..

Very friendly and honest. Just had my WOF done and would highly recommend this place. Talked me through what needs to be done to my car before my next inspection. 20 minutes I was in and out and only $30 dollars for first time WOF inspection. I'll definitely be going back.

Brilliant team of mechanics at Edgeware Automotive, honest regarding work required on my vehicle. Only did what was required to repair issue, which you don't always find at other garages. Will be going to Edgeware Automotive for any future work on my car, and recommend to all friends and family!

I usually avoid mechanics at all cost because I'm stubborn and frugal, and my dad always liked teaching me how to do the repairs myself. However being in a different country without his help and in need of a WOF, I was referred to edgeware. Not only are they pleasant and friendly, they were honest and reasonable. They asked for minor repairs to pass the WOF and I took care what I could and they repaired the tough stuff. They did not try to squeeze out every dollar I have like previous mechanics - and even applied a coupon to cost of my Inspection without me showing them one. I was impressed with their service and respect how they carry out their business, I have and would recommend them to anyone!

Great first experience with getting a WOF in New Zealand. Honest mechanics are what most people are looking for, and I believe the guys at Edgeware Automative were very honest in letting me know what needed to be done to the car. Quick, friendly, and most importantly honest. Would recommend this place to people looking for a mechanic around the Christchurch area.

Having moved to the city I needed a new place to do my WOF. They found few things, all of which were expected (windscreen wipers, headlight bulb and leaking power steering fluid), and gave me a quote, but didn't have time to make the repairs at that time. So I booked my car back in a couple of days later. Like the other reviewer I discovered that quote given wasn't a firm quote when I picked up my car, but in this case it was about 20% cheaper than expected for the work specified in the quote. They had also replaced my break pads (they had not mentioned they were going to do this - I am guessing they only noticed when they did the service). And the total cost including the brake pads came to almost exactly what they quoted for the work minus the brake pads. Pro tip: there is a voucher on their website for cheaper WOF or service if you a new customer.

I recently brought my 97 Subaru Legacy in for a WOF. They called me back and told me that I needed a new wheel bearing (which I was already aware of). I have changed one of these wheel bearings out myself in the past, and so I know what a big job they can potentially be. The quote they provided me was about half of what I new it could cost, and when I went in to pick up my car, the actual costs were less than half of their quote. Excellent!! They could have easily just replaced the whole bearing and charged me full price, but they were honest and just did what needed to be done. I will be a returning customer in the future. Thanks guys.
