These guys have been keeping me moving with my business for several years now. I love how I get a reminder email when my wof and service are due. I drop one of our work cars in at a time so we don't have our fleet off the road. I highly recommend these guys And the awesome design of the stickers on the back window they gave me is actually pretty amazing also

I went in with a puncture in my tire and the young man came out as he seen it was flat. He jacked my car up on the spot. Took the tire inside and repaired it and less time than my lunch break this was good especially when I assumed I would have to buy a new tyre. Christmas is hard enough let alone having to buy a tire. Thank you for being honest with me and letting me know I didn't need a new one

Very friendly and professional place. Owner is a passionate car enthusiast so it was nice chat while waiting for my WoF. They did a thorough job of inspecting everything and at the end of it, I had trust in them to take care of my car. Would recommend!

This was the best wof I have ever had I know nothing about cars but John talked me through everything and made feel alot better knowing that my car would be safe on the road. The owner was funny and seen I was upset and came to talk to me and said he had been there with cars for many years and that he would sort things out for me 20 minutes later I'm on the road back to work Thanks to the guys from GiG

Always prompt and efficient. WOF check picked up an oil leak that required a very close examination by the AA to confirm. Could easily have been missed.

The staff are trustworthy, honest and reliable. They are nice welcoming and smiling trying to explain everything they do. They don’t make money deceiving the customers. They told me exactly what they intend to do and the prices clearly which were reasonable prices. Communication is nice, ready to help if they can. I remember Mark and Riki were helpful but all the staff are nice. They finished the car in time. I recommend everyone to go there and please ask them any question, they will explain. I think me and all my friends and family will go again and again. And please staff keep on this nice way and I think your workshop will be more and more famous, successful and helping more and more customers.

Couldn't thanks this team enough. Missed getting wof due to lockdown. They squeezed me in so I could get to work early tomorrow.morning. Needed 2 new tyres and they worked late to fit them. All with smiles and real customer support. So supportive in this trying time.

I have had several WOFs here along with a car check and a tune up and I have been pleased with their service every time. They are trustworthy if you're not super knowledgeable about cars and will always give you a great price. All of the services have been completed efficiently. I highly recommend GiG Automotive.

Mark and his team a professional automotive repair technicians. The workshop while small (and very busy) has all the equipment required to repair most modern vehicles and older ones too. Staff are very friendly and helpful

EDIT: The next time I came in to get my repairs done, it only took 25 minutes which is extremely fast. The mechanic apologized directly to me, which I appreciate and gave me a wee discount with the repairs. I paid $50 instead of $58. The lady receptionist is very likeable too. So I raised my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. I would probably go again if I don't have to deal with the guy receptionist (he's the one who seemed extremely unprofessional). By far, the WORST experience I’ve had from an auto shop. I waited a full day for WOF + service and repairs. At the end of the day, the repair wasn't done anyway!? They seem very unprofessional and I felt like I've wasted my time. Details as follows: I had WOF + service booked at 9:30 am. I dropped off my car on the dot. I received a call at 11:45 am saying I would need to get repairs done so it can pass WOF (wiper blade replacement + tire puncture) so I agreed. I was waiting all afternoon as I knew they were closing at 5:00 pm. I worked from home that day to ensure I can pick it up as soon as it’s ready. I got a call at 5:28 pm asking if I can pick up my car ASAP since it’s ready. Upon arrival, the receptionist called the mechanic to confirm if repairs have been done on my car (note he waited for me to arrive). To my (and the receptionist’s) surprise, it hasn’t been done yet. I was gutted but I had no choice but to pick up the car since I needed it for work the next day. :( I have yet to bring it back for WOF (2 days from the time I’m writing this), so they can finally get the repairs done which SHOULD NOT take long. I will update my review after finishing the WOF.

Outstanding professionalism and service. Took my car for a WoF, while waiting there was a gentleman kicking up a fuss and refusing to pay as his vehicle did not pass inspection. Proceed to yell at the reception man for 15 minutes and not once did he raise his voice back or show any hostility towards the gentleman. Once he left my car went through the WoF in a very respectable 30mins. Great team, will be going back in 6 months.

Been a great service in here. Thanks to Ate Imelda for her hospitality. I have been taking my car here since my first servicing and wof, the mechanic were honest in which he will show you things needed for the next service and what needs to be done to keep your car safe and last longer. Fast and reliable, came in at 2:30pm and told me it will be done in an hour and it did.

Very good customer service and very good dealing with the issue of my vehicle. Provided me with a loan car and allowed me to have it until the work on my car was done. This is not the first time I have been to GIG automotive with a vehicle issue. Both time's I have been left satisfied. Price's are very reasonable and the service they provide is great. Recommended place to go, especially for pricing. As they definitely pay accordingly.

Took my Subaru in for a WOF , failed on shock which I was suspecting , ordered and installed new shocks on both sides so the geometry was balanced , the parts came within an hour and was installed within a few hours , gave me a decent discount and didn't charge as much as I was expecting , offered the wifi password and had a coffee machine for free , they do zip payment there and the guys had awesome people skills and explained everything in a easy to understand way, so far the best mechanic I've been to for awhile , highly recommend them , one negative is limited access as it's on the main one way road besides that amazing.

This morning, I came to GIG Automotive T/A On the Go for my car repair appointment, expecting that I would have to walk my 14 years old Jack Russel around the block for couple hours, when it’s 6 degrees outside. I was surprised when the staff was kindly and very courteous allow us to stay inside, as well as offering me some hot drinks and provide water for my dog, while my car was repaired. They give me an honest evaluation and they seems like they don’t try to up sell me. Thanks to GIG Automotive for making this experience not too painful for me and my four-legged friend. If you need your car repaired and you don’t want to be taken advantage of at the dealer, this is the place. I would highly recommend GIG Automotive to anyone as they do great work at a very fair price.

I had a great experience. Booked my car in (the day before), and had my car serviced along with a WOF within an hour! The lovely receptionist called me when the car was ready... well within the time given. I thought the combo deal (Service + Filter + WOF) was very economical and fair. Thanks ‘On The Go!’! What an amazing team after having a blowout quickly servicing and fixing my tire Jake was amazing an actually notice something else wrong with my car and went above and beyond to fix the issue so quickly in promptly allowing me to get back on the road told me a couple of other things that I can do to maintain my vehicle to save me money unusual for a mechanic these guys are not money hungry but are there to please people and make the cars safe on the road thank you guys again I will recommend you too many more people

I drove my Toyota Wish 2006 for 9 days from Christchurch to Picton, then from Wellington and around North Island. and reached Cape Reinga. Then drove back to Christchurch. We broke down on a Saturday night passing through Christchurch. The next morning we called as they were one of very few mechanics open and even though they were fully booked for the day they managed to find time and source parts for us and we were on the road by lunchtime. They were gracious, helpful, clear and kind, on top of being accomodating and cheap and I couldn’t recommend these good people highly enough.

I've been used GIG for many years, there are all Awesome! To people who didnt pass the wof, sorry for that, in my advice, you dont need repair in GiG store, just fix it on your way and go back, GIG will not charge you again for wof. And they cares about your life so failed your wof, hope everyones understand.

Arrived here after having some issues with a rental car. Imelda was on hand to professionally address the issue on hand. She gave us a great price for the replacement of the tyres.
