I accidentally visited Pit Stop several years ago and have continued to return. I have found them to be honest and trustworthy when looking after my cars. Always trying to ensure I get the performance parts needed at a reasonable price. Matt is always friendly, helpful and willing to share his expert knowledge.

Called in opportunistically after failing WOF. My lights and bumper needed some attention. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were accomodating and squeezed my job in on a busy Saturday morning there and then. Excellent job was done with excellent customer care. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you.

Tell you what as you get older, simple things make you happy. For me, being told that my car is fit and healthy is definitely one of those. Had my extensive service today and gotta say, it was a quick, smooth, and professional service from pitstop! I was served by Matt which I believed the head mechanic in that place. He explained some of the stuffs I need to do for my car in the near future and he avoided jargons that make a non-car guy confused. All in all, had a great experience with them and I finally found a mechanic workshop I can trust for car services in the future. Solid place!

Called them as we needed to fix a seatbelt to pass the WoF. I was advised who they usually get their seatbelts fixed with as they have to send them away and that it may be best to just go straight to them. Really appreciated this advice and it ended up costing us less than half of what the MotorWorks garage quoted us

I love these guys, and have been taking my Volvo here for the last 3x years. Service is always friendly, and they know my car details whenever I call. Any large repairs, they give me an overview before proceeding, and often give me a couple of different options. I've never had any issues with them, and their service level is awesome, thanks Matt!

Can not say enough about Matt...great informative service, excellent quotes, fast appointments and fix in luckily slip time...I'm not going to any other mechanic from here on...

Great service thanks guys. Was very up fromt about the process involved with determining why my Brake Pads were malfunctioning and the likely cost of service. Gave me regular updates on what was going on and what would be required. Didn't shop around so cant say much about whether they were more expensive than any other workshops, but the ultimate price seemed fair and was what he had quoted at the start.

I've used Pit Stop Fitzgerald Ave several times now for smaller odd jobs and found them to be honest and very knowledgeable with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose faults quickly and competently. Service is top notch and the place is well managed. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

I went with problems with my rear suspension. The tires where rubbing against the car. They fixed the issue for cheaper than initially expected and did some extra things that they didn't need to do like fixed my mudflaps, cleaned the tires and pumped them up. Thry got it all done in a couple of hours Very impressed. The guy I was talking to was very Stretford with what needed doing and the cost which was exactly what I wanted.

We had a prepurchase inspection done on our new car, it was the only place in Christchurch available the day we needed it done. They got it done at short notice with a very quick turn around, and transparent easy to understand feedback regarding the vehicle.

We had a flat battery across the road and they were quick to help, bringing across a portable battery to help get the car started. Thanks so much for helping to get us back on our way!

The hybrid rescue service was awesome - in 5min we were rescued and had the battery replaced within 30min! Didn’t impact my work day at all :)

Prompt attention, job done quickly and a stop light replaced free.

Cannot fault the boys here. They weren't happy with a WOF incorrectly completed by VTNZ so took it back to have further information direct from the mechanic but was inconclusive. The boys at pitstop kept me up to date with thier every movement, didn't agree with VTNZ and completed thier own WOF. Pitstop also failed and resolve issues that were passed by VTNZ which in my mind, let me sleep at peace knowing it was the brakes. Thanks a million again and will definitely be returning.

Staff in Fizerald Avenue Pitstop is very helpful. Matt is the person who is there to help you and understand what we expect from them. And if we talk about caring of a vehicle. They know there job very well.... 100% recommendation from my side

Great workmanship and easy to deal with

Reply to recent review from Heidi.... actual vehicle report as follows...: pre-purchase inspection on nissan elgrand noting sellers price of $7175, anticipating a good result for this price...road tested well but brake performance test on rolling-road gave terrible performance readings would be instant wof failure. Front brake imbalance of 8-22% rear foot brake 32% and handbrake not working at all on l/head side..(maximum wof imbalance of 20%) front suspension dangerously worn and noisy,knocking.rear shockabsorbers worn, exhaust rust and leaking from muffler and extensive engine oil leaks.. recommending not to purchase,vehicle in dangerous condition.previous inspection on same model earlier that day was positive and a sale price of only $6000... seller not honest at all on this occasion.buyer beware

Worked through a bunch of problems and came up with good solutions. Really easy to deal with because of the good communication. They even took my car to the paint and panal place for its next bit of work. Cheers

They did a very thorough and comprehensive WOF on a dodgy car. Explained to a woman in terms she could understand perfectly. Very nice guys to deal with
