Little different. Had to wait outside. Lining up outside. The car park is right near where you enter the building. That combined with a line of people waiting outside. Something needs to be sorted there so it's safer for those entering or waiting for whatever reason. Other then that the staff seemed friendly enough. And if you register online...so much faster.

Pity about the general layout, which is a bit confusing. However, very friendly and professional staff made up for that. I had to visit twice (failed wof first time) and the team was coping well with the silly Christmas rush on both days. Thanks for the good advice too which helped me to revisit next day with issues sorted :-)

Mrs. Maree deserves a good recognition.. One of the finest driving instructors, knows to handle each and every person to person. She helped me to get my full License and never felt like taking a test it was like a cool ride.

It was great for me, as I timed when there was open window. I also prepared my application in advance by going online and downloading what I needed. The only issue with VTNZ , is that most applications require a lot of paperwork by the service people behind desks. It takes a long time and if there is a queue then you better be prepared to be patient And I won't go in about getting your car tested and warranted. Unless you have a well serviced new car don't go there.....

Mrs. Maree received me with a positive smile, keept my nerves low, asking me about any language issue and guided me to stay calm like a psychiatrist to do the test properly. She is extremely professional and has excellent customer service. She is the best VTNZ instructor NZ. I recommend her for award for excellent customer service. I passed my full License after 3 tests in various centers.All tests i failed due to nervesnousness. Please ignore rumors saying that it's lowest pass rate in NZ. They are best in NZ and Mrs. Maree deserves a Noble Price for excellent customer service Omar

Good place to get your warrant of fitness done. There was only one car ahead of me. Didn't take much time

Took a long time waiting, they did not explain their process. Did not take the car service option, it doesn't include oil change. $67 for a WOF isn't cheap either. They are convenient location and you don't have to book, but disappointing compared with the smiling people on their TV ad. Their water machine was empty and they only sell energy drinks. Doesn't seem to be a customer toilet.

I've always found the men there very pleasant and polite; however whilst waiting in the reception area one of the ladies behind the counter was quite rude and abrupt to someone on the phone who had rung to enquire about busy/quiet times.

..... slowest walkers you will ever come across elaboration required, 3 to 4 staff leaning on wall lollygagging about facebook, 1 car over pit 5 vehicles lined up.. In my time in retail i would have been either sweeping or cleaning if nothing to do and moving with a purpose when it was busy not navel gazing and walking at the slowest speed while people are waiting for your "services", feel free to check your cameras as i have my date and timestamped photos also. Actually i will pass them onto Nationwide Management as you seem to dont quite get it with yout passive agressive comment, it seems your singing and dancing television adverts dont quite ring true as boy oh boy not a smile at all. Also my car flew through the wof so dont use that if you think it failed and im mad about it.

i went to VTNZ thursday 25.6 20 but due to a large que i thought i would go back Friday 26.6.20 but the que was right out the door this time so went back at 1.00pm and people still queing outside the door so decided monday would be the go so arrived to be the 8th in line on Monday 29.6.20 so after a reasonably long wait got served the counter ladies were good and knowledgable and business done , i think the ladies are doing a fine job but their systems need updating so they can process paperwork faster and more efficiently , also in defence of the ladies a lot of people go in unprepared , plus misunderstanding paperwork sent to them or not reading paperwork thoroughly and wasting others time. hence adding to the que waiting time.

I always go to Hastings VTNZ with our 3 vehicles and trailer . I dont have to book it into a garage at a day and time that suits them and leave it for the day which inconveniences me and someone else that has to pick me up and drop me off.While I'm waiting I can watch netflix . When they are finished I drive away. If the car needs repair I take it to my garage. Finally . The ladies in the office have always been nice.

Excellent service, excellent staff, i deal with every VTNZ in the North Island, with our heavy commercial fleet and Orchard road VTNZ is by far the most accommodating and user friendly. Definitely a 5 star business. (That unfortunately has to deal with some 1 star customers... after reading some of the comments below...)

Very expensive for a motorbike wof. The staff are all cherry, but move at a snails pace. Don't go here if you're in a hurry, try and book in with your local mechanic. The site is clean and tidy but getting from your vehicle to the office is quite a mission.

I never thought I'd say this about a Vehicle Testing Station but the staff here are awesome and helpful! I have had plenty of reason to use the services at VTNZ and am very impressed by the kindness of their current office staff. They are also very proficient when it comes to WOF checks for cars, bikes or trucks. The only reason I gave four stars rather than five is due to their WOF checks being more expensive than almost every other place in Hawkes Bay. They used to be much more competitive than they currently are. But I suppose you pay a premium for fast service. I highly regard Hastings VTNZ.

very expensive WOF $65 std car, if you don't belong to any of their groups they give discounts to. it can be expensive. I have just found out most of the local car dealerships give a WOF for only $50 and they clean your car. so if you have a Toyota, Suzuki, BMW, Mazda, Holden, Ford, Honda try you local dealership first or local garage. can VTNZ beat that? or match the price?
