This is the second time we have used their services and have had to make the arrangements while not being located in Nelson. Steve has been fantastic and kept us well informed regarding the issues and solutions. He went above and beyond to assist us with a compliance issue and dealt with it on our behalf . Our mechanic, Dave, was absolutely wonderful. We came in for an oil change and our grinding brakes. Dave was very communicative about what was going wrong, how he could fix it, and how much it would be. Even when things changed, he let us know. We felt we got quality service and quite a lot of work done for the amount we paid.

So far so good. Got the vehicle booked and through in just 24 hours which was great at this time of the year. Midas made contact and explained what was needed and the price, collected vehicle a few hours later, at the quoted price - breaks now seem to be all fixed. Thank you :)

The guys at Midas Nelson are fantastic! They were readily available to take a look at my car when I broke down unexpectedly without hesitation. They gave me an honest explanation of what was wrong with my car and my options on how to fix it. Both Dave's that I were dealing with were absolutely great! They gave me a fair price to fix my car. Before I found these guys I was always a bit suspicious of car mechanics. They'd be like: "sorry mate your flux capacitor's gone, that'll be $1500 please" and I'd have a little cry. Midas have been really excellent to me, they're honest, hardworking and busy (and they're busy for a reason). I honestly could not recommend them more. They will go the extra mile.

I have been going to Midas in Nelson for over 20 years and trust them totally with my vehicles. Dave and Steve have looked after two cars of mine and have always kept them running smoothly and reliably. They always seem pleased to see me and I even got a hug last week. Awesome service! Called in 15 - 20 mins before they booked me to have my car's engine oil changed, even though they had a busy day ahead.

If I could give 5.5 stars, I honestly would. On a trip up from CHCH, we started getting concerning grinding noises from the front left wheel. I described it, suspecting it was a stone in the brakes, but in discussion with the owner, it became obvious that wasn't it.... But, then, what was it? After spending an hour looking at things, they couldn't tell me what was wrong, but could tell me what it wasn't. Whatever they did during their testing and trouble shooting, it hasn't made the same noise again. Gave us a loan car so we could manage to get around town, charged us not a lot given the time involved. Suggested best solution if problem recurred. Quite obviously experienced, knowledgeable, and also generous. Not often I get so gushy about business reviews, but there you go, I feel strongly enough about this to write about an experience from two weeks ago.
