Called Douglas Automotive with our issue and it was diagnosed immediately. Vince had no problem arranging a time that met our requirements to come and sort it out and was super friendly and professional. Also helped with another issue seen on the spot. Can’t recommend Vince and the team high enough.

Can't say enough about this business. They bent over backwards to get us in for a service today. We only gave them a couple of days notice so literally squeezed us in due to our circumstances. What a happy positive atmosphere in their office. All the staff were so professional and helpful and thanks Mike we will make a special trip down to Rotorua to get our next service. Good workmanship goes a long way in our books 😉👍

The team at Douglas Automotive do an amazing job. This is an impressive and well-maintained business, run by honest and knowledgeable people. I had engine trouble on my last night's stay in Rotorua before a drive back to Wellington. It wasn't a good situation to say the least, but Douglas Automotive & Engineering went above the call of duty. Vince understood my situation straight away, Lisa was friendly and helpful, and Michael was exceptionally efficient working on the car. Everyone was not only friendly and professional, but also did everything possible to help. In the end my family and I were able to get away on time with as little stress as possible. It was a big relief. I highly recommend this business as this was the best service I have experienced in a long time.

Vince went above and beyond for a Classic Car purchase. At short notice Vince made a trip from Rotorua To Christchurch and back with me, to view a car I was looking at purchasing. Vince had a wealth of knowledge and new all the ins and outs to look for in my car purchase. this was awesome it allowed me to make an informed good decision on the car purchase. On Arrival back to Rotorua Vince Put the car up on the Hoist at the Douglas Automotive workshop for another in depth check over. Great professional range of services to offer. Friendly, simple and easy to book, one stop mechanic specialists where vehicle safety is their number one priority. I have been stung big time in the past, by previous cowboy mechanics because I am not knowledgeable when it comes to how vehicles work, but honesty, reliability and trustworthiness are the core values of this family operated business. They keep you informed every step of the way, quotes provided and no hidden costs, if you don't understand anything just ask the staff they are all happy to assist. Could not recommend these guys more highly. We had a disaster in rotorua with one of the wheels on my dad's electric wheelchair coming off, the bolt connecting it completely sheared through. We arrived at around 4pm on Friday and by 1pm Saturday we were picking the chair up again. The garage arranged for someone to make a new bolt from scratch, and I'm pretty sure at least one of the guys came in on his day off to do the work. So incredibly thankful to everyone there and especially John for sourcing and installing the replacement part.

Had a couple of issues with my 67 Holden 2 days before it was due in my wedding. These guys really helped me out by fitting it in. This is a sharp looking shop, clean and tidy reflecting a level of professionalism that is rare. I had an issue with something which i thought they had not done properly but in the end it was something i was confused about. The concern the owner showed and the way he dealt with it and discussed it with me shows an exceptional level of customer service that is clearly reflected in all of his reviews. It takes a huge amount of work to run a business the way he does and i only wish he was down the road from me and not in another town. If you love your car, take it here!

The staff here helped us out at short notice and did great work at a decent price. Everyone was surprised friendly and helpful. They do a wide variety of work (we needed some rust repair, welding and a few minor part replacements) and on all sorts of vehicles (ours was a converted bus motorhome).

The BEST mechanics I have ever dealt with! When my van engine died mid drive, I feared my grand New Zealand tour was over. Lucky for me the towing truck dropped me off at Douglas. Vince and the gang let me campout in their driveway overnight, and then, despite it being the Saturday of a holiday weekend, looked at my van early the next morning. They quickly and correctly diagnosed the issue, and had my van running again in no time. The crew at Douglas are solid, honest people who obviously take pride in their work and cared about getting me back on the road. They were super friendly (even by kiwi standards), and a genuine pleasure to deal with. Additionally, from a quick look around their impressive shop, they’re well equipped to solve any issue. Pay them a visit, you will not be disappointed!

A great team that takes real pride in their work. When I broke down in Rotorua these guys went above and beyond many times to help us out. We got outstanding service and they really stand behind what they do. When a repair failed (due to a subcontractors mistake; not their fault) they rescued us from the roadside in middle of the night, put it right super quick, then delivered the vehicle to Wellington for us, all at no extra cost. I can't recommend them highly enough. Very professional and friendly.

A massive thanks to Vince, Lisa and the team. It was my first week in a new job and my car decides to cause issues! Vince and Lisa both stayed back and waited for me to arrive after work, and when it was decided I had to leave my car there, Lisa went out of her way to help me find a motel for the night since I didn't live in Rotorua. Vince even offered to have my car fixed before I went to work if he could get the part but I said I would leave it there. And once again, they waited for me to finish work again.
