L.Excellent - unfortunately I posted their quote online to price check and it resulted in a very unhappy mechanic. Lakes Auto took it personally, as if an attack on their integrity. This is not true.
Random strangers contacted lakes automotive online and complained - this was absurd behaviour and had nothing to do with them. The quote was not confidential.
I was also contacted by random strangers agreeing with me, and multiple quotes stating cheaper and expensive but around the same price.
I don't see the issue and promptly did apologise for my actions, however, I feel that other people's opinions were taken on rather than the overall action - which was to price check.
Leonie then knocked back $2240 worth of business which I'll never understand - I am reluctantly going with another highly recommended business who contacted me after posting quote and paying $40 more for them to come pick up the vehicle. I would have happily gone with Lakes and still would.
Lakes have done extremely good work on my other vehicle and they were good, and I'd definitely recommend. They did take a long time responding though, but I put that down to being busy.
M.Paul and the team have an amazing knowledge of all things automotive. The car parks always full & There's always a vintage car or two at the shop, & thats always a good sign. People with expensive hot rods dont just trust 'anyone' with their pride and joy.
L.This crew is awesome! I quickly ran in needing help with my car that just started acting funny and they were able to quickly pop the car in and figure out what was going on. Unfortunately I had to go elsewhere as they didn't have the part on hand right then and I needed it to get home (I live out of town) .
For the small amount of time I was in there, they still blew me away, I would highly recommend them!

J.As someone who has struggled to gain trust from any mechanic i highly recommend this place. They are trustworthy, do not charge crazy prices or look for unessecary faults. Have been here a few times and never dissapointed. Great service! I always see classics getting fixed there which is always a great look to be trusted. Thanks
K.Paul is a great mechanic. We had our Subaru towed there after it died in town. They had it fixed in no time and kept us up to date with progress. We were surprised at the bill as we thought it would be massive but he was very reasonable. We take all of our cars there now highly recommend them. Leonie on reception is awesome also.

S.amazing guys! from the mechanics I have had to deal with these guys were a MASSIVE breath of fresh air. they get the job done and even go the extra mile if something isn't quiet right. so completely honest and reliable I WILL be returning everytime I need work done..thank you so much been such a long road for me and you got me over the finish line in a matter of days. m.Broke down on Friday, towed me back to shop. Ordered parts and had car on road in 2 hours. Service was excellent and staff were friendly. Did not charge for the pickup. Recommended to my mates.
K.For an awesome, relaxed, reliable service, Paul and Leonie are the best. Communication is great, knowledge from both Paul, and Leonie (never underestimate a woman), are bang on. Will continue to deal with these people as long as I own a vehicle.
