I.Had a flat tire driving over from Haast late in the afternoon. The mechanic is such a down to earth guy, he was quite busy in there like all other mechanics trying to catch up with these covid times. He had real good patience as I was telling my story and see if it is safe to keep driving to my destination in Cromwell (had a screw driver piece stuck in tire so not much air came out while I was driving when I pumped it back up over in Haast). Gave me the thumbs up, told me to go to the tire place first thing in the morning and my tire was fixed the next day at the tire place in Cromwell. Enjoyed the rest of the south island road trip all thanks to this gentleman.
D.Our 2014 Ford Kuga had a fuel injection part begin to fail near Blue Pools and we limped the vehicle to Clarks Auto (very lucky). It was a rainy Saturday and auto repair around the area (all of Wanaka included) were closed. I got Mike's card from the gas station attendant next door and called Mike. Despite being a weekend, Mike seemed happy to communicate Saturday and assist when he was back to work on Monday. We rented a van from Wanaka Rentacar (after a taxi ride there from Lake Hawea), left our vehicle for Mike, he ordered the part and fixed our car during the week and things seem to be running smoothly again. I'm not kidding - aside from a bit of trouble sourcing the part - some of the best auto help I've gotten in 20 years as a driver. We feel lucky to have happened upon Mike and Clark's Auto.
j.Had problems with a flat battery after letting the lights on. Staff has been super friendly and put effort in, to find out why the battery wouldnt recharge while driving.
An overnight charge is just 5nzd and it solved the issue in the end :) thanks guys. Ill be back.
A.I have just received my camper van back after the cambelt broke and i am delighted with the time Mike has put into getting it back on the road for me, i would recommend clarks auto in a heartbeat.
