Customer service was great! However the syrup with the blueberries was super sweet so the pancakes tasted like sugar cakes, the shake was also super sweet. I love sweet but it was even to much for me!!!

Tried the butter chicken and the mince bolognaise pie. Despite reading the latest reviews about this place, I was really happy about what I've tried! Staff was kind but didn't know so much about the pie ingredients, therefore the 4 stars. Overall, would try again!

The pies here are so good! I have tried their creamy chicken, mince and cheese, cheese toast and butter chicken. Butter chicken really stands out and it is really good(must try!) All the pastries here are so huge including their almond croissant😋. It’s perfect for breakfast!

Omg this is such a gorgeous little cafe, with super nice food, very reasonable prices, and really friendly staff. We absolutely enjoyed our time here in arrowtown so much more because we are foodies and the AB cafe totally delivered!! Recommend!!

Not gonna look on other reviews but my experience was superb! It was a quiet afternoon and the cafe was just about to close. The cafe owner was really kind to let us order whatever they had. We offered the brownies, venison pie, something creme brulee (my friends tried them), and like a cranberry sandwich from the display. The taste of these were just so rich and I love them! Even my friends couldn’t resist getting more but too bad the cafe closed right after. Sweet memories here so I would never say it’s a tourist trap

They're famous for their pies but for us the real winner was the Creamy Mushrooms in a rosemary infused cream! Like a rich stroganoff on toast, it was delicious. The pastry and the interior of my steak pie were of great quality but I would have liked more filling and less pastry. A great cup of coffee though

It would be better if the front staff was a bit more friendly. Coffee was okay... but I came here for pie so no disappointment.

Amazing pies with really soft flakey pastry! Would definitely say its worth a try when visiting! Super popular place that has a range of pies and other food avaliable. I had the vegetarian pie although it contained some animal fats. Still one of the best pies i've had to date.

Had steak cheese bacon pie $ steak mushroom pie for our lunch, pastry were very fresh and with chunks of proper steak meat init it was beautiful. Other menues looked delicious at affordable price.

This charming mountain town just 15 minutes outside of Queenstown is picture postcard perfect with its cute tree lined autumnal trees, preserved historical buildings on the Main Street set against a backdrop of spectacular mountains. The town’s most famous bakery serves a variety of pies all at $6.50 each. The steak and cheese pie is generously filled with both mince meat and chunks of melt-in-the mouth meat cooked in gravy with a layer of melted cheese. The cinnamon bun scroll is one of the best I’ve eaten, it’s soft brioche like soft bread is smothered in cinnamon which gives it a beautiful spice.

Shame I didn’t take a photo of my smoked salmon on spicy jalapeño bagel... it was really delicious and well priced at $12. The cream of chicken pie had a nice flaky and dense pastry. It’s a small cafe w limited seating so be prepared to share tables with strangers!

Wow, those pies! are spectacular. My favourite has to be the chicken green curry and the mint lamb (on the pic). This bakery is always packed so expect some queue but it goes fast. This is a must if you are around Arrowtown.

One of the best local pie in the Queenstown Lakes District. Lovely pastry and chunks of beef, best paired with yiyr favorite drink. Coffee is available as well. Go and get one..

Nice ambience. Fish and chip is pretty average. The batter was too thick and the chips are not on par with MacDonalds. Coffee is average. Maybe should have tried the pies.

Great pies and freshly baked goods. They also do a bacon and egg roll and of course coffee and cold drinks. Seating just out side in open courtyard or take a stroll down to the river

This was my second time I have been here the first time was great really busy & great service so we went back but this time the place was not busy & the person serving at the till just looked at us & then went around the empty table's & picked up used plates & cup's leaving us just standing there like we Weren't even there we finally got served I thought to myself this might be a one off but while we were sitting eating the food another couple came into the shop and were greeted by the same Standard but they did not hang around and decided to Leave. Definitely not the same Standard as my last experience not sure I will give it another try

Small shop with about 7 seating areas inside and a few more outside. Food was delicious; they had so many options, I wish I could have tried them all! Great for breakfast. Staff is friendly. I would recommend!

Best pies in Queenstown (or even NZ!). A trip to Arrowtown is not complete without stopping by here. Can get pretty busy during peak tourist season. Get here early to avoid missing your first choice of pie.

A cute little bakery on the main street of Arrowtown. Nice food and good coffee. Was a nice place for a little meetup and will stop through again next time I am here in Arrowtown.

The coffee was lovely, but I ordered the eggs benedict when maybe I should have gotten the big breakfast (That looked great and definitely value for money). My poached eggs were hard and there was only a little splash of sauce.. quite disappointed ☹️

Pleasant enough, but nothing to write home about

Stopped in on the way through to Queenstown and had to give this pancakes a go. Outstanding... contemplating going for seconds that good!

The soup I had was great, the bread to go with the soup stunning. What let the cafe down was the coffee which was so thick (it was a long black but with no hot water on the side) it was tar like.

OMG! The pies here...amazing! I had the Venison one (sorry Bambi), so delicious. Butter Chicken and Thai Green Curry was a winner too. Be prepared for a queue but worth the wait. Couldn't take a photo of the pies....they were inhaled too quickly to take a decent shot. Next time.

We'll give them the pies. Incredibly good and we had a variety of flavors. The service took incredibly long and we were in the line for 20 minutes, and then while waiting for pies to be ready, others were recieving theirs first despite being served after us. However for a good pie, worth it

Great pies and cheese rolls. Some good filled rolls but prices arnt cheap. Hard for kids there arnt any plain options for smaller kids /toddlers. Reasonable coffee, lovely slices and cakes.

Had a "made to order' chicken sandwich. It came in a ciabatta roll and was the best chicken sandwich ever! Also rate the cream donut, and my wife rated the Custard Square. Good value yummy food

Just love this small bakery. Pies and sausage rolls are a staple for lunch following a mornings walk on one of Arrowtown great trails. Or go for one of the best breakfasts in the Southern Hemisphere before setting out of a longer walk. It is always bustling but service is surprisingly quick.

first time there today. PHENOMENAL! I had the Thai Green Chicken Pie. easily the best thai green curry pie iv ever had! If youre on a diet DO NOT go there because you will say stuff it and set up camp and eat your body weight in pies. Ill definitely do a review on instagram @beastronewzealand

These pies are definately worth a go. We had the creamy chicken and beef mince pies with mash, peas and gravy. The pastry was nice and flaky and the filling tasty and generous. The chicken was slightly too salty, and I think both pies were a tad dry. A little more gravy or cream would have made them perfect.

Ten years ago a German friend visited this bakery and told us it had the best pies in New Zealand. We finally got there. I've lived in NZ and eaten pies for over 40 years and I think this was the best pie I've ever had.

Snall but very popular and very busy bakery at far end of Arrowtown. Had ham buns and a brioche, all very tasty, and the coffee very much enjoyed. Parking always a problem but lots of parking by river and easy to walk to shops.

Pretty big range of pies and some of them are fairly unique. Some people have said you need to get there early but we got there at 11 am and they didn't have anything sold out. The other bakery goods they had looked pretty interesting and saw a few unique looking items.

People are great. The pies are to die for. I have to get the Lamb Mint but have made my way through all of them and it’s never a bad thing if they r out of one kind as there is always another that is just as good. Steak and cheese is usually my second favourite but the venison is awesome too! I usually end up getting a slice of cake and mix that up too. Some are probably too sweet but sooooo good it is hard to say no!! Friendly staff which is also really important as I am a return customer but they were from the start anyway. Every time I am in Arrowtown I end up here! Get there before the pies run out. Winter around 3ish later in the Summer. Highly recommend.

One of the best bakeries in NZ - amazing pies (in particular the Venison & Cranberry), sausage rolls and slices. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The pie here are a little overrated. Very much the same as most bakeries in New Zealand, maybe slightly better. Thick base crust and not a whole lot of filling.

An establishment! You have to go to Arrowtown, even if just for the pies!!

Awesome range of cakes and pies. Got to get in at the right time if you have a particular pie in mind though as the place is mobbed most of the time so they often have a limited selection of the full range. Cakes are pretty great, my favourite is the Crounut (half croissant half doughnut), or the custard square. The managers are great and down to earth and accept orders on the off chance you like something enough you want order for a function etc. Very handsome, male, member of staff with a beard working there in the bakery, candy for the eyes, candy for the mouth, perfect haha

Great pies! And a very interesting range too. Hot drinks were great too, i was pleasantly surprised by the tasty hot chocolate. Only let down is that the customer area doesnt accurately represent the great food!

So many pies, so many decisions! I really enjoyed my potato top pie and carrot cake. Would be back here without hesitation to try more of their delicious looking cakes and pastries. Perfect low cost lunch option in Arrowtown.

We travelled to Arrow town just to try this place. The pies here are to die for! The pastry melts in your mouth that you feel they are almost home made pies.

we had a little stop here in Arrowtown for coffee and pancakes. for a 'bakery & café' I expectet the coffee to be better. the pancakes were good though. Overall an alright place, that is very crowdy. at least when we were there (end of February)

SO DELICIOUS. You must stop by this pie shop. I had the steak and cheese and the crust was so buttery, flakey and crispy. Nice generous chunks of filling. Just so good.

I can only guess that the famous pies are good since I went there twice on very different days and times and twice the vegetarian pies were "sold out"... My partner liked his mince pie though.

Quite possibly the best sausage roll on the South Island. The coffee is good too. If you find yourself in Arrowtown, and are a little peckish, get to the bakery for a wide selection of goodies.

Very nice pies, but the Oreo Fudge Slice is the best, very delicious.

Delicious mouse traps and coffees from the Cafe, and a simple but delicious $6 bacon and egg buttie (roll) from the bakery next door. Great option for a quick and cheap brekkie to fuel your day!

Our visit to the Arrowtown bakery and cafe was literally the most momentous moment of our whole trip - the worlds greatest bacon buttie. Most people think the attraction of central Otago is the adventure tourism of Queenstown but if you want to go on a real adventure take your tastebuds to arrowtown bakery for the worlds best tradesman buttie. For a modest $8 (+$1 to add a hashbrown) you get to wrap your mouth around a soft morning baked bun which is golden toasted the same colour as a Grecian in the peak of summer, perfectly fried egg and bacon with crispy edges that take you back to the breakfasts you used to have at mum’s house, and finally the hash brown - so golden that even Michael Phelps would be jealous of it. Honestly, the bacon buttie at this store was better than the Remarkables.

Pie is yum, but we waited for over 30mins and, staff is so busy service not so good, even i want to ask something for staff but no one look at my eyes, they keep ignored customer.
