Quality bread and pies so far in Auckland :)
Many choices of Asian styles of bread as Melon-pan and An-pan ❤️ Also, Vollkornbrot and Yamashoku(very soft😵). I have tried almost their menus, and I could said all are more than good 👍🏻
F.
Stunned by their GIANT gourmet pies.. so generous with the fillings and just soooo satisfying. We tried their chicken katsu curry pie, curry pan and a couple other meat pies, all are AMAZING. Easily the BEST BAKERY IN WEST AUCKLAND X
E.
Been living in Avondale for years and never even knew this place existed! Drove to work and saw the sign “artisan bread and pie”, they had me at artisan lol.
Woke up Saturday morning drove in to the quiet industrial part of Rosebank (busy during weekdays) and found myself in a nice minimalistic deco front shop of a commercial bakery.
Everything looked amazing but I just wanted to try a few things before I buy anymore!
The croissants is great; crispy outer nicely even layers on the cross section. Nice buttery taste, but not too decadent or greasy that you would never want to have another one for months.
C.
Home delivery during lockdown, spot on and delicious. Great pies and pastries, and wonderful brezels. We also love the sandwiches during normal times. Great bakery

First visit here. Found it by accident, staff very friendly, good covid protocols on place, good coffee, and the GREEN TEA WHITE CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS WERE AMAZING and the highlight of my day!!! Will be back soon!!

Well well well what can I say? Best bakery in Auckland is what I say! Japanese takes on kiwi classics make for a real treat. I have not had a pie here without beaming from ear to ear. GET THE KATSU CHICKEN PIE you will be charmed. GET THE STAKE ALE AND CHEESE PIE my lord it is good. The quality of the steak and the meaty chunks really set it apart from all other steak pies I've had. GET ALL OF THE SANDWICHES the steak sandwich featuring the Japanese mayo is to die for. All of the sandwiches come in the excellently baked sourdough bread. The service is so pro, if they have run out of sandwiches just ask what they are making through the back! I Love this place.

Unfortunately I wasn't impressed. Quite oily and too sweet for my palate.
S.
Super awesome bakery, mixture of traditional kiwi and Japanese baked goods
N.
Great bakery! Real steak in the steak and ale pie.
A.
Been meaning to try this place but kept forgetting until this morning!! What a great little place. Delicious options, just wanted try them all. Bought a few but looking forward to try other goodies.
T.
Very authentic Japanese bakery. Definately the best i have found in Auckland.
Make sure you arrive early because the bread does sell out quite quickly.
First time to a Japanese Bakery? I recommend you try - Melon bread (sweat bread). Curry bread which is white bread deep fried quickly with delicious Japanese curry inside. The soursough (not japanese), Japanese cream bread and a Japanese loaf.
Enjoy!
A.
Outstanding little gem, one of the best pies I've had
M.
Amazing authentic Japanese bakery!! I’m extremely happy to be have JP breads in AKL. Thank you so much for baking the beautiful breads&cakes. I love Mentaiko France(salty cod roe cream on a baguette).
L.
Best fruit danish pastries ever! Highly recommended
A.
I think that this is the best place in Auckland for tasty French style bakery snacks. The French don't had lots of sugary icing on anything and nor does this place. The combinations of the flavours in the pastries is just perfect.

So pleased to have discovered this gem. Live in Avondale and always travelled further to get sourdough bread. Until I came across Bakers Diary. Lovely sourdough compagne bread! And delicious croissants and pain au chocolates. But the highlight to date has been the custard donut! Delicious! And everything is so fresh. I’ll be trying the Japanese bread soon. Highly recommend.
J.
Favourite bakery in Auckland, staff are super friendly, and happy to guide you through all the different products.
Coffee is really good and the whole experience is something I look forward in a morning.
R.
The sour dough bread, pie and sweet buns all absolutely delicious. So good to have top quality food locally.
J.
*Updated* have tried other items like the ‘ fromage et jambon ‘ roll (ham and cheese) OMG it’s perfect. A fresh baked & buttered roll, loads of champagne ham, sliced smoked cheddar and a little whole grain mustard. Best in town hands down. Also, their coffee is spot on and will satisfy a fussy espresso head.
I heard from a friend that upon the long and winding Rosebank Road, there existed a Bakery run by a masterful Japanese baker. This is the place. On my visit in December I purchased christmas mince tarts, traditional German Stollen and a chicken sandwich, all were of top quality and made with care and love. The sandwich was made with their soft white in-house loaf, and was loaded end to end with delicious components. A delicious and hearty sandwich. The Xmas mince pies were perfect - a thin crisp buttery pastry case, and the right ratio of filling to pastry. The stollen was a great example of its type. Bakers Diary is a legitimate artisan bakery with a Japanese twist.

A lesser known fact about Baker’s Diary is the fact that it hosts a Japan Bread Day once a month where they sell Japanese style and inspired bread. Preordering is a must unless you plan on turning up within an hour of opening to snag the delicious goodies 😊
J.
Lovely staff, one of the only places that offer Zopf in New Zealand. Baker was trained by previous owner of the Swiss bakery. Sourdough and baguettes are the best around, perfect for cheese fondue. Pigs in a blanket are amazing too.
J.

(Translated) A shop where you can buy delicious Japanese sweet bread. However, only on the first Saturday of every month.
I had melon bread, purple potato danish pastry, and curry bread.
The former two types may be impressive if you haven't eaten Japanese bread for a long time, but they are usually delicious.
The curry bread was very delicious with a lot of minced roux.
You can buy some Japanese breads here but first Saturday of each month only.
The curry pan is very nice. Lots of meat in the inside of the bread.

You can buy some Japanese breads here but first Saturday of each month only.
The curry pan is very nice. Lots of meat in the inside of the bread.
