Great coffee from one of the (unofficial) top Baristas in Auckland. Steak and cheese pie was amazing though forgot to take a snap of it. High recommendation

Had heard about the Banh Mi from this place for a long time and finally got to try it. They nail the baguette which is really similar to the ones in Vietnam. The pork is very well-seasoned and the pickled radish and carrot add a great vibrancy. One thing, though, I find it a bit too dry. Banh Mi isn’t meant to be ‘saucy’ but I think this one could do with a bit more mayo and pate. Overall still good but for $15 (which is on the pricey side for a Banh Mi), it could be better. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

The Bánh mì was great with the baguette so crisp and also soft inside. The pickled vegetable and chilli provide the tanginess and hit. The team there was very nice too. My coffee was delayed and they offered me complimentary cream donut and pie! A++

Love at first bite! This steak and cheese pie is soo good I had to write this review after my first bite. It's not too crumbly that it flakes everywhere. It's nice and even bite full of tasty gravy and gooey cheese. Can't think of a better combination for an excellent steak and cheese pie. legit go gettit!

Definitely coming back here! Friendly and quick service, some wonderful looking baking. The big breakfast equal to all if not better. And who knew...? they have some delicious looking Vietnamese dishes on their menu as well. Coffee is very good, open from 7am.

Wow, this place is awesome. Coffee is excellent. Loved the Banh mi and came away with a baguette and some pastries after watching them fly out the door while we ate. Top service too. It's worth a drive if you don't live nearby.

Nice light meals with great service. The bahn mi we had was a bit lacking in flavour, and the overall pricing is a bit high. But the place is very popular, so we probably ordered the wrong thing Coffee was legit

When we had to move house to another suburb, one of the worst things we had to make peace with was that we would no longer be close to Mr (and Mrs T) and their amazing team. Honestly, the team here are outstanding. Friendly and always welcoming. Coffee is wonderful. And the baked goods! No words. We now forge rivers and climb mountains for brunch here. Well, we don't really, but we would!

Pretty cool fusion cafe, loved the atmosphere. The sourdough was freshly made in store which is good, but quite hard and chewy as well.

Great Vietnamese style cafe! Their coffee and sweets are great and their dishes are exceptional! So far I had bunh mi and beef noodles. Their bunh mi is just right amount for the quick takeaway lunch. Substantial but not too heavy. Beef noodles is very succulent, tasty, and generously proportioned. It’s a perfect place for both lunch or just a coffee.

had team lunch here, very good vietnamese twist brunch, recommend beef noodle and their freshly baked baguette. however, the pork chop with rice is a bit suprising, it come with minced pork sides, which is sort of tasteless, all of us tried it, or maybe we just cannot understand it. btw, the portion size of prawn salad is too small to make it as a lunch.

Finally a fusion cafe in my local community! The breads here are super fresh and the food was sooo good! I ordered the meatball and just loved how juicy and flavorsome they were, much better than others ive had before!

Overall is ok. If u like Vietnamese food then this place is good for you. Pho was fine, it is yummy but not that extent to what others said. I’ll be back.

Food quality is quite decent. Had the big breakfast and only downside was the bacon was a little hard. The iced mocha was really good and strong, none of that bland mocha other cafes do.

Great bahn mi. The bread was crunchy and delicious. The filling’s flavor can be a bit better, but still pretty good. The upbeet juice was quite refreshing.

Delicious ham and cheese twist and the devine pork banh mi. Plus the staff were a vibe, so happy, cheerful and full of energy. The pies were sold out, so get there early!

I like the French bread texture but I think the banh mi need more herb, meat and a bit of sauce from the meat. The big breakfast looks good. The Pho is pretty good too.

Absolutely perfect local bakery with the most perfect pastries and bread and only equaled by their fabulous service with never-ending smiles. We love you.

Mr T meat pies are the best I have ever tasted.. I also love his sourdough bread.So pleased to be living in Onehunga and love to share with my friends.

Just had my first Vietnamese baguette & it was delicious beyond my expectations. This place is clean with relaxing atmosphere & staff are friendly very attentive.

The food at Mr T's is delicious, every time we go and everything we try. The service is friendly without trying too hard and they are dog friendly 🥰. The eggs Benedict with bacon are superb at Mr T's. Check out the 2 photos I've posted, there's a reason why one is of a very cleanly scraped plate. Thick bacon, so good. 1 egg on sour dough, the other on hash. Nice hollandaise, garnished with grated apple, surprisingly, works a treat! Highly recommended. The Banh Mi is really good here, though maybe a little light on the daikon. The coffee is a bit 'hit and miss' but when I gave feedback they remade and was heaps better. Sometimes I can't be bothered waiting though so don't say a thing...

Amazing food! The food coming out of the kitchen to each table smelt divine every time! Great chill atmosphere, family friendly, wheelchair access and the service was absolutely next level! We were looked after from stepping foot in the door to leaving. So glad to have found this local hidden gem.

Staff here are super friendly. Chocolate chip french toast is yummy, and the chicken banh mi is also great. Really fresh bread baked daily! 🤤

Have been here a few times and is a great little place to eat. The staff are friendly, facilities are clean and tidy and service was extremely quick. Had the Pho which was absolutely delicious and flavoursome this was my favourite, the chicken coconut curry was also good but I felt as though there was not enough rice to eat with my curry. Would totally recommend ☺

Wonderful warm and welcoming staff serving up perfect coffee and a Banh Mi to rival the best in Viet Nam. Pastries I’ll have to try another time. Great spot to sit outside and people watch too.

The Beef noodles was a perfectly balanced meal. Can't remember the name of the sauce but it gave the dish extra flavour. Ordered a almond croissant to go, for afternoon tea - I loved it! Not overly sweet which i was surprised about as the ones I've tried from other bakeries are generally quite sweet. Forgot to take a pic of the croissant, ate it too fast 😊

Partner and I agree. New favourite restaurant! Their pho is bold and rich, infused with fresh herbs. It was totally authentic and srltill welcoming. They. Bake. Their. Own. Bread. Laaaaws ha'mercy! Each pastry and sandwich was divine. Worth it every time. Parking is behind the street front, don't get discouraged!

Oh my goodness! I don't eat pork, so when I first saw the menu I thought there might not be much I'd enjoy, but wow..... I ordered the chicken roll, and it was one of the tastiest things I have EVER eaten! I'm only in Auckland for two days unfortunately, but will try to be back again tomorrow for one more taste!

Staff are great, coffee is great , chocolate ecliars are great , apple strudel is great , pho is great and the baguettes are great. This place is great

I had the bacon and egg roll which was amazing. I loved how fresh and crispy the baguette was. Ambience was great, definitely will be back to try more.

Friendly service, lovely food and fair prices. Their pastries are excellent. Finally, a place in Onehunga to buy a decent baguette! Why only four stars? It's utterly too hot to sit inside, at least for me. Perhaps it's poor heat extraction from the kitchen? Not sure. But easilylly solved by sitting outside on the sidewalk seating. But that aside, it really is worth a visit.

This is a must try, "Banh mi" @mr.t.thebaker the bread is so amazing, right amount of crunch to pillowy softness on the inside & don't get me started on the filling, that pate is second to none. Just writing this is making my mouth water... I will back & probably alot as the everything looks amazing on the menu. Also would like to say the staff are amazing and definitely try the veitnamese coffee so delicious ❤️❤️

Visiting from Canada and the almond croissant is the best thing I’ve ever eaten! My boyfriend had the coffee and said it was the best he’s ever had. We wish we could say we’d be back but we definitely recommend it. Excellent service too!!!

Really good place to find fusion between Vietnamese and western food. I had the Pho which is really tasty and such good broth. Equally the omelette is really nice, it’s bread was made of taro flour ( yum) and healthy !

Funky, shabby chic/retro fit out. The staff are are relaxed but professional , welcoming, friendly, genuine and seem to really enjoy and take pride in the place they've created. My must-have when I visit is the Bahn Mi. Perfec, authentic baguettes crispy and flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pork is juicy and tasty and blends perfectly with the flavours of the pate, and veges. The beef noodles and Bun cha (spring rolls, prawns and vermicelli noodles) are also recommended. They have a great selection of fresh juice blends and their authentic patisserie style baking is amazing - try the chocolate mousse eclairs. Mt T's is a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood. We're reluctantly moving out of Onehunga, but this is a place that we would go out of our way come back and visit.

I have shopped here several times now. I understand they are having some control issues with an oven they took over. So sometimes the breads' a bit, well, crusty. But again very nice. I have little doubt they will resolve the problem. I highly recommend their served food. To day I had Vietnamese pork meatballs with pork spring rolls and two sauces with a baguette. A bit of a wait but so delicious. And the Anzac biscuit is oh, so yummy. Oh, and the croissant is virtually perfect. As an update there bread is for me a bit to crusty, but nice. I would like to see them more golden brown in colour. But You are buying them so, that just my opinion.

What can I say! Hidden gem in Onehunga. Try it out.

Great Baguette abd vietnamese food.

This cafe is one of those that lives up to their star rating and reviews. My wife got hot chocolate + eggs benedict and I got mochacinno + big breakfast. Their hot drinks were superb and even better with the belgian chocolate powder. The quality of the ingredients used were good too. Not to mention that the big breakfast plate was the least oily I’ve seen/had of all big breakfast dishes I’ve tried around Auckland.

Came early to grab some of their popular baked goods. Took home a delicious flaky Pate Chaud made with pork, pate and flaky puff pastry as well as a matcha croissant! Highly recommend! Parking is a bit of a mission in Onehunga. I suggest you park further in the side streets and walk over. Dont forget to order coffee!

Wonderful service and great lunch (banh mi using freedom farm NZ pork). Also bakes sour dough which looks fab (bought but yet to be tasted!). Vietnamese cafe and bakery a welcome addition to Onehunga.

So happy and glad to have had lunch here ~ Although Onehunga is not my local, I would come out this way any day for the triple delight of lovely atmosphere, great food and perfectly poured coffee. After missing my favourite barista from my local cafe, was pleasantly reunited with him today!

I have been told how awesome mr T's is for a while. Today was the first time making it out there. Everything was fantastic, well worth the drive.

Ordered: Smoked Kahawai on toast and beef noodles. Received: Perfection. Honestly haven't had this high level of quality for a long time!! Definitely recommend coming here for any occasion

Not really a review - but a comment on the staff. We were in there just after opening day, when everything and everyone was new, just before Christmas. I dropped my wallet when I walked out. Half a kilometre up the road, one of the staff walked up to me, and said "is this yours"? She had chased us down the road, across several intersections to return a lost wallet to a customer. That is Customer Service. Kudos.

Very fresh large bowl of poi beef & noodles soup the yummy stock (was from freshly infused beef bones ) then ordered hot long black coffee and warm freshly baked blueberry muffins came with small cube of butter wrapped up in lunch paper

Really nice especially the baked goods as done fresh throughout the day. Had some really nice Apple Strudel that had just come out of the oven.

Oh my gosh. One of the greatest little cafes around with great coffee and aaaaaamazing bread!!! I get that French stick home, snack some butter on it and then it's suddenly all gone???

A vietnamese french cafe. They make lovely baguette and your usual almond croissant and coffee. Onehunga is the edgy cafe district that was formerly Ponsonby.

This is one of my favourite Vietnamese cafe/restaurant. +Yummy soup, fresh bread, great coffee -- Pho soup portion is too much and can't finish it. I really love it but it's a waste when I can't eat all

Stopped into the Onehunga pop-up art gallery and discovered Mr.T’s next door. The pork bahn mi hit the spot with the crusty yet soft roll, perfectly seasoned pork and accompanying pâté. Will return another day to try baked goods!

Everything here is amazing and fresh. We had the croissant, fruit pastry, and the chicken roll. The chicken was flavored just right and the baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was spot on and fast, which is kind of important for me with 2 very impatient little people. Can't wait to go back.
