Reviews of PieFee
B.
We stopped by to grab some drinks and snacks for morning tea. I was wanting to try their piefee (but chocolate) but they weren't serving them until they were open for sit down service again. The piefee is a coffee served in a sweet pie crust.
I ended up getting an iced chocolate and the custard doughnut. Both were tasty but the chocolate cover of the doughnut was mostly in the paper bag after bringing it back. I also tried the cheese scone and the caramel slice and both were tasty.
I am keen to try the chocolate piefee once they are back.

When I heard there were coffees inside pie shells I had to give it a go.
PieFees are mini pie shells lined with caramel and chocolate, then filled with the drink of your choice! I opted for a flat white and my partner got a mocha. That was a hot chocolate heavy but he learned his lesson and got a regular flat white in it next time.
I’m able to get decaf and non dairy milk too.
The coffees are excellent even if you don’t get a PieFee and the staff are so nice. We came in once after they had put the chairs up and we’re going to get our coffees to go, but they offered right away we could sit in there to have our drinks if we wanted and chucked a few chairs back down. We didn’t even ask, they just offered.
The cabinet food selection is good too and I usually get the spinach feta quiche. Sweet and savory both available.
Fresh bread is available and very soft, not overly hard crust like a lot of places.
Perfect spot to sit in the morning on a weekend or lazy afternoon during the week for a break.
Make sure to sip a PieFee over your plate or with your plate. Don’t be like my partner and eat the shell while the coffee is still in it 🙃

Went for the French toast pie and although it was my favorite it's definitely worth a try. Spicy prawn pie was everything and the piefee took a while to eat afterwards but delicious (Highly recommend).

Congratulations to PieFee for being a Bakels Supreme Pie winner for 2021! I make sure to get my fix at least once every weekend. The staff are so friendly and feel like family.
I think I've tried each of their pies by now including the limited Mie goreng pie last year. My favourite is the spicy prawn as it is actually spicy for my taste. The rest of my family enjoys the BLAT on sourdough bread, chicken avocado roll, and double happy sausage roll. It is on my list for cheap eats, but definitely not cheap in quality.

Great clean store. Friendly helpful staff. The pies and piefee are a Auckland must experience.
I highly suggest the French toast pie the smell as you cut or bite it open is heavenly divine.
Pour maple syrup over it and the taste is just as it's smells.
I had the choc chip piefee with mocha and you get warm melted chocolate from the edge of crust as you drink it which is extra yummyness.
Once you've drunk it all the crust is still nice and firm to crunch on.

Amazing!
What a genius idea to combine pie & coffee.
An eatable pastry cup + nicely make coffee.
Eating crunchy delicious pastry cup while enjoying a nice cup of coffee.
Love it!

Friendly stuffs, great coffee and reasonable prices for food. In love the amazing PieFee which is the perfect combination of coffee and chocolate cookie. What a brilliant idea and highly recommend to give a try! Cant wait to head back to try out their homemade pies too!
Thank you for the amazing experience!

The pastry indeed very flacky and buttery. Must try the unique coffee in biscuss base, fun way of drinking coffee.

2.5 stars for the pie only because I’m on an everlasting pie rating journey across New Zealand and am comparing it to every pie I’ve ever eaten on said journey so my criteria is harsh. Polite people. Simple straightforward service, nice spot to sit in outside.
P.
Best Bakery on K'RD as you can see there's no chicken & chips left 🤣
아.
Coffee was delicious, breads were great prawn piè was very interesting.
Staffs were very kind and coffee had just as same drawing as photo on the wall.
I just found this cafe today morning because of that biscuit coffee bowl but everything made my day waem and wonderful^^ thanks
But just little tip, when you order that biscuit coffee, make sure to drink most of coffee first then eat that base.. haha
M. W.
Good potato top pie. Crispy browned potatoes, good filling, firm crust (one of the four kinds of good pie crust). I'll be back to try their other pies!
B. S.
I realised I'm in here alot. I love the pies. Mince and cheese, steak and cheese and potato top are really good.
Buy a coffee get a donut for $1.
If you come in close to closing they have some really good bargains on sandwiches.
Lovely staff/owners.
No plastic here too!

Had prawn and smoked salmon pie for take away. Nice flaky pastry, one of the best pie shop in my list across New Zealand.
Cheese scone is a hit as well 👍🏻👍🏻
Definitely will come back again 😋

Amazing Pies.
This place makes some of the best pies I’ve ever tasted. Pastry and fillings are perfect.
The carrot cake is a hit too!
A first class pie and a cake for a little over $10. The staff are hospitable and polite, making it such a refreshing place to visit.
A. H.
A must try for those who's not tried coffee pie.
A must try for those who's sweet tooth.
A wide range of bakery options from savory to sweet.
But I guess I'll just stick to long black and the hotdog roll next time XD

My wife was very excited to try this pieffee when we reached Auckland. Can't comprehend the excitement but one thing I'm very sure is, the staffs were one of the nicest, friendliest people I've met. We reached the shop 15mins after their business hour and they're cleaning up their shop ready to pack their stuff and go home. When they knew we traveled all the way to try their pieffee, they heated up all their equipment and make one pieffee for us. 5/5.
Oh, the pieffee was good too, one of the kind, can't find in other part of the world, so definitely worth a try.
C. C.
I would say this is more of a novelty stop -they're popular for their PieFee, which is coffee served in a pie. The pie was relatively nice, but the coffee was very watered down, your usual instant coffee standard.
D. Y.
Had their flatwhite in a German caramel waffle pie. Super yummy and great service 👍

I have been to Piefee a few times as I work at a restaurant on K road and study just around the corner from K road.
The first time I went was after the chef at my work suggested I try the French toast pie. I was very skeptical because I didn't know if it would taste good but he told me it did. So I went to Piefee 2 weeks later and tried it along with a Piefee coffee. They were both extremely delish.
I have also been alone and with friends before work on a Friday as I have time to kill between uni and work so I sit there and have an afternoon snack and a coffee (I have since given up coffee but I definitely still go there for food).
I have also gone there for a coffee and a work meeting with my boss and it was so nice that the owner recognized both my boss and myself as regulars.
The Piefee coffee is a bit expensive but it's definitely worth it, its so yummy and the presentation is beautiful.
J. A.
Pies, sausage rolls, oops award winning chicken and vege pie ... top notch sandwiches on sourdough with beaucoup de salad. I have said yum before : this is my daily go to ... along with the sushi place .... oh and the deep fried chicken. Restricted to a once every two week treat !
T. S.
I love this place, you can't find a bakery better then here. The price is all worth you're experience & the owners omg WE LOVE their enthusiasm & positive vibes they give to us as customers! Go hit their like button on facebook, they have plenty of content to see 🥰. Definitely a recommendation on my top 5 for bakeries
D.
Tasteful Bakehouse, home of the Piefee. The signature delicacy is a must try if you are around the area. Although a bit pricy, it is worth every penny.
The staff are also very friendly and hospitable. Would definitely recommend checking this place out.
J. P.
This place has incredible fresh and tasty pastries! The croissants are epic. Anything with cream is heavenly. The owner is kindhearted and always offers service with a smile. Oh, and the prices are amazing for such high quality! This is your favorite bakery!

We had a Latte served in a housebaked ginger bread cup and it was soo yummy ! We shared one as it is rather a dessert than a coffee.
Had some breakki too which was good but nothing special:) definitely recommend it tho!
L.
Best bakery in the city. They have everything from pies, cupcakes, pastries to coffee and fried chicken. My favourite items on the menu are the spicy prawn pie, croissant (so flakey it's worth dying for) and the flat white, which is made with the Karajoz blend of coffee beans.
Also! Check out their sourdough bread, it's what you would expect of a nice traditional loaf, filled with yummy grains.
J. D.
Definitely go their Piefee. They have created the perfect combination. Delicious coffee with an even more delicious cookie afterwards. Yes you run the risk of getting melted chocolate all over your face (maybe just me?) but it is worth it.
Right on Krd so go for a browse in the opshops afterwards.
M. B.
Best baker in the city love your pies pastries and your bread and thank you for your lovely service
G. H.
good cheap coffee and carrot cake. Friendly staff . Pies looks good too
Y. L.
Very good pie, most welcome when you are wandering in Auckland !
k.
I just had a chocolate covered donut with custard in the centre. The 5 stars is for this as is the softest freshest donut bread and the custard was smooth and delicious. Not too sweet. I brought to cut up with other sweets and put as part of a platter and ate it all myself. Must try
B. L.
An undervalued little gem. I thought it only has pies and junk fried chicken lunch box, but didn't know the delicious bread that my wife has been buying is not from Fort Greenie, but from here until one day my wife bought a REAL SOUR sourdough from Fort Greenie.
H. H.
I had the almond croissant and cream pie for takeaway and both were delicious. Would come back to try out the savoury pies.
S. T.
Amazing quiche and pies!! Coffee was exactly how I like it!! Can't fault this small business. If your ever on K'Rd and want great pies and coffee, drop in.
A. A.
We tried the PieFee which is their original specialty. It was really good, the cup-pie was really tasty and not too hard or soft. The drink was perfectly made and the best of all is the energy and attitude of the people who attend you.
D.
Best bakery in the CBD. Mostly sells sweet treats, apart from their pies. Highly recommend if you want to cheat on your diet and have no regrets. 😉
G. C.
Came with a friend and felt like having an apple pie. It was great and did not disappoint!
M. S.
Really good food and prices! The best vege quiche out there! and their Rye doughnuts, they were amazing (please bring them back =D )
N. R.
Delicious veggie pie if you are ever in the area. I always am fond of a bakery that can create a nice veggie pie. They are also home to the Piefee. A coffee (or hot chocolate in my case) in a biscuit type base that you can drink out of, then Eat. Forget about keep cups, I'm talking edible cups here. Yay for mother nature!
K. K.
Non-pretentious. Awesome pies and quiches.... Good coffee. Friendly owners and staff. Fair prices.

Bro the Lammington x Cream Bun is ON 👌🏾
It's an obvious combo but the first time I've ever seen it.
R. O.
They do great pies here. It's an all round top bakery. If you're looking for a pie or a sandwich on k'rd you won't go wrong here.

This is my favourite local café along Karangahape Road. It is a small family business, operated by an obliging Cambodian chef/baker and his wife, with an assistant baker and a couple of well-trained and helpful café assistants. The range of food - snacks, sandwiches, loaves of bread, different types of bread rolls, cakes/confectionery and cooked food - is prepared onsite and is extensive and generally wholesome and well-made and at a reasonable cost.
The coffee and tea provided is always excellent, with the chef having invented a "PieFee" - basically a coffee poured into a chocolate-lined hard pastry cup. The chocolate melts into the coffee as you drink it, and you eat the still chocolate-flavoured cup when it is empty. Yum!
Highly recommended.

Me and my partner have been going to this place for years now and their food just gets better every year.. number one spot if you looking for bakery food in the cbd. The best pies everything is fresh! Highly recommended

C. F.
Been coming to this place for a looong time and the pies and coffee are always consistently good. Ignore the few negative reviews... I live above this place and have consumed more pies and coffee from this joint than all of you reading this! It's the only reason why I haven't moved :)
R. I.
Just popped into this place today and it was every bit as good as the reviews suggest. Great service, kind friendly staff and killer pies. The coffee is also perfect!
D.
Vegetarian pie is my favorite...along with the bacon and egg, spicy prawn steak and cheese mince and cheese, potato top, and the cream donuts. 🤙🏽
C. B.
Best bakery around! The owners are passionate about their bakery and always trying to improve their ideas and food.
Lee is Mr super coffee, always makes them perfectly! Thanks guys

Nothing beats this place for affordable tasty food and friendly service. You can see that the moment you walk in. Delicious food is displayed with a lot of care and none of it disappoints. Sweet, savoury and hot food, it's all of great quality. There are many places to go but I always go here because it's the best.
