The most amazing cake! Great experience with the Cake Mixer as they responded to requests/questions quickly and created exactly what I was after (not to mention it tasted amazing!). Tucked away in Howick but now I know it's there I'll be ordering from them again.

Huge thank you to The Cake Mixer team for my son’s birthday cake. I gave them a picture and it was perfect. They also helped make a gluten free treat so everyone could enjoy the party! Thank you again amazing and delicious 😁

Outstanding service! I was very much surprised that this cake specialty shop was local, literally 1 minute drive away on Juliette Ave. Great looking shop with a great host, atmosphere and vibe. I urgently needed a birthday cake for my wife's birthday which was only 2 days away. They delivered it on time and it was an immaculate looking cake that also tasted sublime. I was thoroughly impressed and would recommend these guys to outside the local region as it is worth the drive to see them.

It was a pleasure to deal with my local cake shop. They listened and came up with options on making a cake for a 25 and 50 year Gold Star presentation at a reasonable price. The cake tasted fantastic and enjoyed by all.

Ordered a cake (standard design) for my son’s first birthday. They were easy to deal with, had the cake ready on time, and most importantly the cake was delicious! It was a moist and flavoursome chocolate cake. The price was quite reasonable for what we got. This will definitely be the first place we consider for future occasions.

This is my 3rd time get cake from you and everytime exceed my expectation. The chocolate cake was super moist and beautiful. Definitely will get all our birthday cake with you. 🥰🥰🥰

I ordered my Mother’s Day cupcakes from here the week before. The price was great and my mum loved them!!!! The day of Mother’s Day, my partner and sister wanted a box for their mothers and the cake mixer made two more for the next day pick up. They went over and beyond and everyone loved the cupcakes. Great customer service!! I am now deciding what cake to buy for my sons birthday!!! Thank you!

Mel and her team made the MOST AMAZING SKI BOOT CAKE IN THE WORLD!! for my husband's very big birthday. I never had a worry from the get go, which included a Covid re-book, heavy detailing and photos of his boot etc... and they deliver which was a huge bonus. The boot was Awesome and the Cake ( I chose good old chocolate mud) was beautiful. One of those recipes you wish you could find yourself :-) Bron

We ordered a special 70th birthday cake for our brother in law. We were very specific in the wording we required and in particular the colouring of the cake. It was to be in claret and blue, West Ham colours. We had arranged to pick up the cake @ 10.00am 27th Dec.They finally arrived after 10.30am. The cake did not have the special wording we had requested, and neither was it the ordered colours. Very disappointing. I complained to the owner and he took no responsibility whatsoever for the mistakes, instead intimation that it was us who were in error. He undertook to phone my wife in half an hour to see what could be worked. He did not . I informed him that we had paid $ 140 for the cake and his comment was " well you got that cheap". Terrible manner towards a customer. Would not return.

Amazing cakes year after year at a very affordable price. My kids have never been disappointed. Lovely lady in the shop who will have a good chat about requirements and is flexible with options. Thanks this year for a very gorgeous Sophia princess cake - our four year old girl is THRILLED with the way it came out.

A Beautiful, tasty and well priced cake. Although we are not a big fan of mud cake but this cake was so moist and tasty that the whole family were raving about it. My Two year old cant get his hands of the cake until this day! The lady that made the cake was so friendly and accommodating and i do recommend her to bake your next occasion cake.

This little artisan cake shop is a real treat to visit. The cakes are delicious and the coffee is good. A real bonus for the locals around Howick. It recently changed hands and the new owners are very professional and extremely competent cake makers. Sadly, some of the previous reviews relate to the previous owner.

Service wasnt great at the start, as I sent them an email about my cake topper order and called them to confirm. But apparently the number shown here isn their number, but that isnt true because i spoke to the same kiwi guy earlier today on the phone, who was in store as well, using that number. And over the time i have called them, there was three different people who answered and out of the three only 1 knew what order i was talking about (most likely the owner Mel). The staff are very unorganized, they do amazing cakes and decorations but getting your order isnt guaranteed. And they said they will call me back even though i gave them my number 2 times and they never called me back. This is very disappointing service. As this not only adds stress to their business but to their customers as well. They need to seriously get organised as people are willing to pay money and support their business. If this is how the staff treat their customers like this as though they never put in the order, which in my case i did and i even have evidence showing i did. They told my partner, who physically went in, that the owner will be in contact with me after her meeting ( this happened around 1;40pm today 21/01/2020) and it is now 2:55pm 21/014/2020, i hope she does as i am willing to pay money for my order. Then you would know they keep the owner keeps her word. And if you cant do the order, just tell your customers immediately so they have time to find someone else. And it cant be this hard to get back to your customers, i run a really busy business as well, and i am only one person, yet i manage to get back to all my customers and assure that they will get their order on time. And though i read their reviews before putting in my order, i chose to give them a benefit of doubt, but it didnt end well for my order. The owner has gotten back to me now (6:06pm 21/01/2020) and is very apologetic as her staff didn't communicate the whole story of what happened with the order. It was really wonderful of her to apologies and made sure to clear things up. Would recommend now, but make sure that when placing order they can definitely make the order.

Perfect, happy I found you guys. I gave a picture of the cake and asked for extra things on it and got exactly that. The cake was beautiful, tasted beautiful as well as the cupcakes. Thank you !
