Reviews of The Clareville Bakery
N.
We visited Clareville Bakery for the first time recently and now we’ll definitely be visiting every time we’re passing through or close enough to Carterton! An incredible range of cabinet food that everyone will enjoy. We ordered a cooked breakfast which was their version off French toast using a toasted croissant instead. It’s was absolutely delicious. The coffee was great and we were quick to order our second coffee along with some pasties. If you haven’t been here yet, you are missing out!
S.
Excellent!
We turned up upon recommendation from a friend as we were travelling all round the Wairarapa and we were certainly not disappointed. We immediately were overwhelmed with the smell of freshly baked goods, both sweet and savoury. After the maze of hot cross bus and others packaged goods we made it to the front cabinet. Cronuts, Creme Brulet Donuts, Brownies and more displayed as well as pies and sausage rolls. Plenty of choice and a wide variety. Great coffee and service.
Couldn't recommend it more.
(Below is the Creme Brulet Donut)

All time best 😻
Their cronuts are outstanding. Something you won't find anywhere but here.
Gorgeous old church building that's been refurbished into a cute bakery/cafe with multiple eating options.
Always busy.
B.
Beautiful authentic baking. The croissants, pies and bread are some of the best we've ever tasted. This is a destination in itself and you just stop if passing. Enjoy the baked delights
M.
Great little not so secret gem.
Delicious pies , fresh breath and pastries well worth stopping in. Big parking lot so if you have a motorhome it's no problem parking although busy road so care required getting back out on to the main road.
Lamb cutlet pie well worth a try.
K.
If you don’t agree with how they operate don’t go, don’t leave a nasty review just get on with your own business! This cafe has a wide range of food, it’s wonderful and so are the staff. Keep up the awesome work xx
C.
Pain Au Chocolate with the most chocolate inside that I have ever had anywhere in the world!
Croissants, cronuts, donuts, brownies.
Sandwhiches, filled croissants.
Fresh baked full loaves available.
A variety of sweet treats / tray bakes.
A range of hot Pies, mince and cheese is good but could do with some more gravy and the cheese spread thorughout the pie and not just on top.
Hot food available, eggs benedict and eggs on toast are both very popular. The benedict can be with bacon or ham.
Cheery and friendly staff.
Free water available.
Own range of products to purchase and take home, such as jams and keep cups.
Outdoor seating area.
Child play area.
Cold soft drinks available in the fridge. These are expensive!
Disabled friendly entrance.
Male, Female and disabled toilets.
Cash accepted.
Debit and Credit cards accepted with no credit card fee.

Delicious bakery just 5 minutes outside of Carterton. Ample parking and seating. Sourdough bread and kouign aman were spot on. Visited twice in 3 days!
R.
Had lunch last Tues. Used disabled parking space, building ramped & accessible throughout with ample leg room under tables. Didn't check toilet access. Cabinet food amazing.
R.
Best food. Pies were sooo good. Staff friendly . The place was clean. Good playground for the children and we'll fenced. A good safe place for picnics . Lots of families enjoying the day. See you soon.
S.
Truly a bakery/cafe worth visiting if you are in the area.
We went here recently and the food is absolutely to die for. The flavours are just incredible. Whether it's on the menu or in the cabinet, there is a wealth of delicious options to choose from.
They are well-known for their cronuts, micronuts, their pies and many other creative inventions. They have won numerous awards, and I can absolutely agree with that. I know a number of other places which have won awards which I definitely wouldn't agree with, but this is a clear 5/5. The atmosphere is nice, and it was busy when we went (even though the food didn't take too long to be delivered).
The drinks range is great too, whether it's cold or hot - they've got you covered.
If you are passing anywhere remotely along the way (SH2 or nearby), then you must make sure you stop for a bite here.
Thanks to the wonderful team there who have really gone beyond to make it an incredible cafe/bakery well worth your time and money.
M.
This is on State Highway 2 near Carterton.
Stopped for coffee, potato top pie and a custard square. They were in the bucket list for my trip to NZ. They did not disappoint.
E.
Thank you Clareville Bakery, the variety of food items was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented, all conveniently delivered!
The customer service was also on point, with friendly, helpful staff 👍
Clareville Bakery does not disappoint!
D.
I passed this place with a huge waiting line and turned around. When there are so many people it must be special. And it was. The easter hot cross doughnuts are second to none. It was amazing. Thanks to the team and for finding this place. It will not be the last visit.
C.
Clareville Bakery is an icon in the region, and respected nationwide.
The many, many awards they have accumulated exemplifies the love they put into every fold.
She's a little pricey, but those awards didn't pay for themselves.
J.
Wonderful restaurant they provide many different mouth watering treats would recommend to anyone! Perfect for anything special, Birthdays & more
A.
The Clareville Bakery is a family business that bakes high quality food in a beautifully restored old church. The breads and pastries are freshly baked and delicious. Prices are a little high but worth it for premium food. I always stop for coffee and a treat when I’m passing through Carterton.
k.
I thought this was a bakery, it's a cafe with great parking and shocking people who don't know how to use a parking area. Over priced and this is not a bakery you can get pies, donuts or coffee to go.
A.
When I passed this way I found this bakery
This place so friendly staff good coffee and really tasty breads🍞 It's lucky day
a.
Delicious! Obvious why they have won so many awards! Plus it's in a historic building with indoor / outdoor seating. Couldn't ask for anything more!
N.
It's not every day you see a Creme Brulee Donut and the temptation was just too much!
What an awesome bakery and the Pastrami & Pickle bread roll tasted great, definitely recommend stopping here if in the area
J.
A very good bakery where lunch is served too. The lamb pie is a must try and deserts are ready to be served right afterwards. There might be long queue to get the food, but it's worth it! There are seats outdoor to enjoy a good sunny day with the good food.
R.
The best quality bakery food you ever did taste. The creamy chicken bacon pie is BOMB! Not to mention, the tastiest breads and the best customer service. Love your work and all you stand for.
E.
Not enough superlatives for this wonderful bakery! The selection is almost too much - but the best kind of too much! Something for everyone and you’ll surely leave with more than you probably should indulge in...I’m kind of glad I live hours away, but kind of sad at the same time!
B.
Gorgeous pastries. The apple crumble Danish was delightful! Great selection. Buttery goodness melted in your mouth topped off with slight spice from the cinnamon.
S.
Fabulous bakery!
This popular bakery has a wonderful display cabinet filled with delicious treats. We tried the award winning lamb cutlet pie, the tomato bacon soup and a filled baguette sandwich. The food was fantastic and the bread was amazing - this is truly an artisan bakery.
A.
Lowly food. Wide selection of baked treats. Great place to stop for tea or coffee.
K.
Used to love this place but the coffee & meal quality’s been on the decline for a while. Bakery is still good. Last coffees had here were barely drinkable & the meal was overpriced for what we got. Good spot for takeaway pastries.
H.
I just had the best cheese scone I've ever had 🤩 The other bits we had were delicious too. They have an enticing cabinet selection, as well as a good looking menu and fresh bread loaves (which we didn't partake in but looked great). I can see why they're so popular, it's a real gem!
P.
Fantastic country bakery that has many great things to tempt you.
Donuts of all kinds and good old fashion scones are marvelous.
The cafe is great with good coffee and peaceful outdoor seating.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. If you cannot decide, there are gift boxes to choose from.
Too home a loaf of sourdough, which is fantastic as corn beef and pickle sandwiches.
C.
A great place, so glad we are able to still able to get a coffee at an amazing cafe, this place isn't running on a draconian, biased ,discriminative level that many other places do.
Thank you
G.
This award winning bakery and cafe is an absolute must when travelling between Carterton and Masterton. Mike and Rose the owners with their amazing staff really know how to make one feel welcome and valued as a customer.
You can order off the menu and from the counter, with it all available to takeaway too. You're also able to order cakes etc to take home , along with an array of instore made fare.
They have won many national awards; The Lamb cutlet & Kumara mash pie has twice been voted the best pie in New Zealand. Some of their breads have also won top place awards, as recent as 2018.
Clareville Bakery & Cafe is (in my opinion), the best wee cafe in the lower North Island and you'd be a blimmin' mug if ya don't pop in...😁
Here is just some of the lovely fare available in the pics...ENJOY!
A.
2nd time visiting. Food was great as always and today they were very busy even with covid restrictions. Staff were incredibly friendly and did an awesome job at keeping pace and interacting with customers. Will definitely be coming back whenever I pass through. The cronuts especially are awesome!!
G.
If there's a line, it's worth waiting. Great pastries (what we had) and the breads looked brilliant too. Try the mikeronut for only $2.50. And there's a couple of good gf sweets on offer too. Highly recommend.
k.
Yummy pies and almond croissants. Nice to see you are always so busy despite your stance. Thanks so much for your stance and yummy food.
J.
The place was easy to find as it's along the main road. And the food was delish and they have outdoor dining too to enjoy the sun.
A.
Travelled from Wellington to have brunch here. Rather pricey but well worth it. My first time having Cronuts and I was not disappointed. Everything was delicious!
E.
Too class bakery. I’d put it in my top 5 nationally. Particularly good cinnamon bun thing, cheese and ham croissant and good pies.
M.
Great rural cafe/bakery. They have a huge selection of delicious looking cabinet food but not a very big selection for gluten free people. I had a steak and cheese pie which was quite good, the meat very tender and the cheese and pastry very good but could have done with some more gravy in the pie. The side salad was very basic but the lemon dressing was great. The mikeronut (small stuffed cronut) was so good but tiny for the price. They have a huge amount of both indoor and outdoor seating and a large carpark which makes it very easy to visit.
G.
Your hot cross buns are divine never had better. Coffee was lovely great place to eat.
N.
Very good delicious i would rate more than 5 stars if i could really recommend coming to this bakery
J.
With takeaway menu, which can be consumed on premises the usual ambience has gone, but the food and coffee still awesome
t.
Lovely staff. Lots of beaut food. Tried the Peach Danish today. Highly recommend. Tasty & Light 😋
C.
Great coffee. Wonderful choice of baked items. Great service.
H.
Lots of options in the cabinet provided you're not coeliac or gluten intolerant. The only GF cabinet options were a sugary raspberry thingy and a hapless looking frittata. The coffees were nicely made, however the barista was rather brusque. Bit of a hoity toity vibe to the place, and given the serious lack of GF options I doubt i'd return.
N.
Amazing food and relaxing atmosphere.
True Kiwis value! Best of the best, make you to be proud of NZ
C.
I love this place so much, the food, atmosphere, and the building. If I don't like how a business chooses to operate I simply don't go there.
S.
Delicious food. Fabulous staff. Definitely worth a visit!
E.
Pro-choice bakery will always have our support and we will stop by every time we pass ✅
Beautiful bread and interestingly different donuts.
S.
Great Cafe, the best pie is chicken, bacon & cheese! Excellent coffee to go and lots of off street parking, closes at 2pm so don't miss out.
* change that, steak, cheese and jalapeño
T.
I visited this lovely bakery with my husband while on a trip to the Wairarapa. There was a large selection of food available for us to try. We both ordered scones and I had a chocolate danish, really tasty and fresh. I hope to return in the future.
M.
First time visit. Loads of parking
Good variety of very tasty food
M.
Very popular and good choices of nice food.
S.
Great food, amazing service - such an asset to our beautiful region!!! Spinach and parmesan danishes are THE BEST!!!
M.
As always, good food, pleasant atmosphere considering Covid requirements.
A.
Awesome food, friendly staff, and oh, did I mention the awesome food? :-)
M.
Best bakery food I'll ever tasted especially their cronut
D.
Well worth the stop. Food is top notch. Lovely facility to eat in. Wonderful selection of food to choose from. Lamb and kumara pie os to die for. Excellent service to go with the excellent food
J.
Could only get takeaways would love to go back for full meal
J.
A great place to stop off for a coffee and a bite to eat.
D.
Complainers got more chance of catching covid at the supermarket than this place, really peeps need to settle down and get a real job, not bag a hard working local business that serves awesome food
E.
Awesome food and fresh bread. A must go to in the Wairarapa when you’re there
B.
The atmosphere is super exciting and people are bubbling with loud chatter. The only downside: the chatter was at times so loud that the servers would have to yell at the customers in order to be heard. The treat and coffee I had were super yum. Very morish! The place is clean and pleasant. A great, first experience.
w.
This is a must the food is amazing fresh did have a wait on the coffee but we where told at the time we ordered so we changed had a juice great customer service good parking
Thanks guys will come again
K.
Food and coffee are amazing!! So many yummy treats!
A.
Thank you for being on the right side of humanity ✌ stay beautiful ❤ ps highly recommend those cronuts! 🤤
M.
Much respect for opting out of the jab pass and refusing to divide kiwis. Good on ya guys!
H.
So delicious!!!! Great food & wonderful coffee!
B.
We were a party of eight older persons who were really looking forward to the Clareville experience. Unfortunately they don't take bookings and the place was humming so unable to get a table. Eight very disappointed seniors. How ever our faith was restored with the beautiful lunch at an extremely reasonable price at the Buckhorn Bar and Grill in Carterton .I have no hesitation in recommending the latter to others who also have problems getting a table at Clareville Bakery
E.
Great place with cronuts and many bakery items.
K.
Great place for great food. Highly recommended and did not dissapoint. Good coffee!
M.
Really good all round. By far the best in the area
B.
Chocolate fudge slice, o, yum, service with a smile, enjoyed.
B.
Absolutely incredible wedding cake! Demolished in one sitting. Thanks Mike and thanks to your team, you are true masters in bakery!
W.
Lovely business with home made baking and pies. Coffee was on point. We will be back 👍
K.
Worth the queue when it's busy. Recommend getting a big loaf and a few pastries for a picnic.
Had an awesome creme brulee doughnut, and the chocolate crossaint was packed with chocolate filling.
Missed out on the steak and red wine pies when we were there so that's next on our hitless.
No wonder all the Wellington folk rave about it!
b.
thank you for being human and allowing all in dine in your beautiful cafe.
S.
Delicious food. I got the mince and cheese pie, fries, banana smoothie and a creme brulee donut. 10/10 for them all. Yum!
J.
This is the best cafe locally. The food is good and the menu changes though to be interesting. The cabinet food and baking is particularly good. The building is interesting and there is a nice garden too.
So the downsides. First the coffee. Even though they use the same beans I do at home their coffee is just a bit poor. Not terrible, but not as good as you'd expect given the other points of the cafe. I've been coming for a few years so it's not just a one off problem.
Second is that given how good the food is and their location on the highway, it gets busy every day. And, because it's an old church, busy means loud. Just something to factor in to expectations when visiting: come for the food, not a quiet relaxing conversation.
G.
Gorgeous bakery great place for a snack 😋
T.
Excellent food, amazing cabinet and bakery. Can be slow when busy, so take your time.
K.
Excellent business and owners! Thank you for being open to all. May God bless and anoint you all and your business. 🙏
D.
Best cronut ever!!! Must try. Thanks for a great service!
V.
Great selection of cabinet food and hot meals. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. On a sunny day the outside area is also nice.
J.
Incredible food,great coffee
Highly recommend
C.
Amazing food and service. Lamb cutlet pie is definitely worth it's award status!
M.
Good quality and tasty products. It is worth a stop.
G.
Great selection of freshly baked goods. French toast was a little too sweet and syrupy for my liking but overall food was good. Service was not as friendly as other small town places but its a very busy place. We were there early but when we left at about 10.30 people were queuing out the door.
M.
Used to love coming here, but since they now have disposable cups etc, I’ve declined to visit. Food is great, but bring back the cups and saucers.
UPDATE
Great to see the crockery is back, as am I.😍
Great café , great coffee..
D.
Nice coffee so a good place to stop while on the road south!!
O.
Throw the diet out the door if you stop off here - yum
D.
Fantastic bakery, great food, great NZ values!
B.
The standard of food and service while ok has declined since our previous visits. Very disappointing. We will not be returning. New chef or new owners?
A.
Nice place to taste a good breakfasts or pastry.
R.
Went here to have a coffee catchup with another mum. They have a little play corner for the kids on a rainy day. Ordered the iced chocolate - was a little surprised/disappointed when it came out in a disposable plastic cup :/
m.
Great wake me up coffee, delicious menu food and the pastry are just devine and moorish (will make you have a cheat day for sure) Staff are bright and bubbly, service is top and there's a wee outdoor area for ya kidlets.
K.
Amazing place! Need to try the cronuts! 😍
M.
Busy, friendly café with a strong suit in baking. The pies are uniformly excellent, and the cronuts wicked - if that's your thing! - but there are many healthier options too and the the coffee respectable.
A.
Great service freindly chill staff 5 stars
B.
Wonderful food. Only issue is that it's only open until 2PM and closed Sunday. But I suppose this is the tradeoff for the food - worth it!
J.
Very nice lo ely breakfast! All their cakes and food in their cabinet looks amazing, lots of space to park. Large indoor capacity for seating. Also a lovely garden seating area and play slide and climb.
S.
Great food and friendly staff👍
K.
Nice food ,busy place but we still got a table after a little wait.
S.
Beautiful fresh baked good and purchased Christmas gifts too.
J.
Always amazing at Clareville Bakery - warming up at Clareville Bakery after watching Hot Air Balloons in Greytown
e.
Delicious pies today - mince and cheese - my personal favourite , steak and cheese, steak and wine - I didn't read any further - already had my mince and cheese ..😉
T.
Tried this place again and the food (from the cabinet as it was later in day) wasnt amazing. Seemed like the day before cake. I know this place is well liked by others but I have not found that the case. I would like to try off the menu again to see if it can by amazing like I know it should be according to awards.
S.
Didn't try the coffee, but I recommend the food. Pie, croquettes, custard square, citron tart and cruffin were all great. These guys know how to do pastry well. Nice setting as well. Will definitely stop by again.
c.
Best pies and pastries in NZ!!!
a.
High standard of coffee and cheese scone as usual. A pleasure to visit
L.
Had the Wellington on a plate burger. Excellent and well worth a trip! The bun is very bold, totally black all the way through but it tastes just like regular bread. Very interesting.
R.
So many yummy things! Had an enjoyable coffee in the garden and ended up taking some super yummy bread and cronuts home. Always worth a visit!
M.
Nice selection of artisan breads and premade sandwiches. The warm menu seems interesting but we did not choose anything from it. We ended up eating a pumpkin sandwich with caramelided onions and feta, which was truly excellent. Coffees were also of the highest standard. The atmosphere has a nice feel, with plenty of indoor seating and a nice outdoor garden area. The place is worth a stop!
A.
We stopped here to buy lunch while en route to Napier. Excellent decision! I had the most delicious baguette stuffed with blue cheese, candied walnuts, & just the right amount of lettuce. Husband said his baguette (cheese, salami & gherkins) was just as tasty. We couldn't resist getting a blueberry muffin (so light & fresh) and a cream donut (crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle) and found them just as good.
We bought our food to take away, but the bakery has a large, light, & airy dining space (& spotlessly clean toilets). It was really humming at lunchtime midweek.
110% recommend; will definitely make a point of stopping there again.
C.
Delicious food and friendly hospitable staff. A good time :)
M.
My wife and I ordered the bakers breakfast. Although the food was good there was no relish or sauce on the plate or table. We also purchased bread and pastries to takeaway. Both pastries were only just cooked and a bit heavy. Overall the meal was OK but the presentation needs work.
T.
Beautiful coffee.
Proper tender meat pies, much better than your normal bakery.
Loved the pain au chocolat, best ever.
Plenty of parking for the unit load of North bound hay.
J.
Great place, food and vibes.
J.
Great baked goods, coffee was well crafted. Staff were warm and welcoming. If you're in the area and having a craving for a pastry, stop here!
b.
Very good food. Unexpected gem in small town NZ. the croissants looked perfect but the cream / custard filled cronuts were most divinely melt in the mouth. Definite repeat. Not to forget the most unique lamb chop pie!!!
J.
We always stop here on our way to and from Wellington. Always busy which is a sure sign of a great place to eat and drink. Cronuts, pastries, bread, cakes as well as a blackboard menu. Great coffee and friendly team.
J.
Excellent coffe and food
H.
Lovely cronut purchased, unfortunately the line was a bit long for us to hang around for their yummy coffee to go with them as it was so busy (as usual).
f.
Love the cronuts and the honey and wheat bread!
C.
Every thing at the Bakery is delicious!!
P.
Clareville bakery has some of the best bakery food ever. Their range is premium and well worth a stop if you're driving past. I've been with two different groups of people these past two months and everyone has enjoyed their food. Go there!
G.
Excellent selection of cabinet sweets, hot pies and larger menu items. Plenty of seating options either inside or out in the garden area. Coffee is made with Wellington's Flight beans and was well made. Service was prompt and staff were friendly and efficient.
R.
Lovely country cafe and bakery. The Eggs Benedict was delicious! It is worthy of the praise it has received. I highly recommend it. Be forewarned: there will be long queues if it is a holiday, especially Mothers' Day.
H.
Nice lovely place for a visit. Great selection & variety of pastries.
G.
Very good Bakery great service
A.
A nice little shop out in the middle of SH2 between Carterton and Masterton. Very nice pastries, good tea, good coffee. My son said their ices coffee was the best he'd had. Dog-friendly-- nice, shady sitting area outside with a steel water dish for the pooch to lap from. Great atmosphere inside. Recommended.
C.
Delicious Croissants and patisserie as well as coffee, since we came just before closing time we even got a free baguette with our order! Great crusty bread. Would highly recommend.
A.
Excellent food and wonderful staff. Don't leave Carterton without paying a visit.
B.
Had an amazing meal of Clareville Mushrooms, absolutely delicious. A glass of wine, wonderful meal, lovely coffee. Worth the travel from Lower Hutt, Wellingon, to enjoy a great experience. Great atmosphere, beautiful setting. Will go again in a heart beat.
C.
Fantastic pies and sweets. They also have a proper menu as well as the cabinet food, but the sweet treats may distract you, and for good reason. Coffee is hot (too hot?) and strong, and even if they are busy they handle it well.
H.
Lovely cronut purchased, unfortunately the line was a bit long for us to hang around for their yummy coffee to go with them as it was so busy (as usual).
L.
Can't go past the Clareville bakery. Many of our group called in a number of times.
M.
Used to love coming here, but since they now have disposable cups etc, I’ve declined to visit. Food is great, but bring back the cups and saucers. …
T.
This place is always yum. Our family in Wellington ask us to bring bread.
L.
Very popular, good food selection & coffee.
G.
Good breakfasts, great service, plenty of space. Better alternative to the crowded options in Greytown.
M.
Had to do takeaway as so busy. Delicious
R.
Went here to have a coffee catchup with another mum. They have a little play corner for the kids on a rainy day. Ordered the iced chocolate - was a little surprised/disappointed when it came out in a disposable plastic cup :/
D.
Cronuts make a good breakfast...
A.
Solid cafe. A great place to stop and get some food and coffee. The food is great and the staff are friendly as. Nice outdoor seating bit to hang under a tree and watch the kids play. Sweet as
D.
Great value kitchen and cabinet food. Friendly staff, good coffee, and grab a loaf of bakery bread while you're here!
M.
Great coffee great food. Worth the stop!!
j.
Amazing Bakery lots to select from
L.
The coffee is always good. Good food, beautiful bread. Staff are friendly.
B.
Was just looking for a coffee on the way through but wow this place is amazing. Great coffee and the "opera cake" was 10/10. Would definitely recommend
T.
Food is amazing. Lunch times are very busy here so best to come a bit early. You wont be disappointed. Best cafe in Carterton
C.
Loved it. Nice food, great service.👍👍
U.
1000% go back again amazing people with an amazing business.
P.
Divine baking, great customer service! Cream donut to die for! And they offer to slice your loaf of bread you buy to take home.
D.
Love the Clareville bakery. Great food. Pleasant staff.
I.
Beautiful food, inside and outside dining
A.
Just eat here. You won't regret it. Yummy food and friendly service.
A.
Fantastic cafe selling an award-winning lamb cutlet pie, as well as wonderful pastries. It's a big cafe with a generous outdoor area. Worth the stop.
K.
Lovely cafe. Hope they come up with Vegan options soon.
M.
Had to do takeaway as so busy. Delicious
K.
Great food on the go.
W.
Worth a road trip to visit. Great food, staff and space.
C.
It's a real bakery but with a cafe etc too ..awards for Africa since ages and i can see why . Easy access and parking is something I always like too.
L.
It was pretty busy being 28th Dec. Ordered what was supposed to be a creme brulee doughnut but it turned up just to be a donut with custard with some caramel on top. Underwhelming.
C.
In the 5 years since we diacoveres Clareville bakery its never disappointed. Food avaliable is amazing and there is always something new to try. Staff very friendly and safe playground for the kids.
G.
Good breakfasts, great service, plenty of space. Better alternative to the crowded options in Greytown.
M.
I got the Lamb Cutlet Pie from Moore Wilson Wellington
The pastry was amazing - crisp and layered. The lamb was tender but the black pepper was too much. The kumera gave a creamy texture. I was disappointed with the overall flavour. I am sure it said Rosemary but this was not in the mixture I tasted.
M.
Excellent food, great coffee, and perfect service
S.
Great food, pleasant team who work well under pressure. Top shop!
K.
Really tasty Lamb and Kumera pie. Easy to see why these pies win gold medals! Also a perfect Mocha to go with it. Lots of other really good looking high quality items in the cabinet as well.
K.
The Lamb and Kumara pies and delish!!! The steak and Red Wine pie is definitely also worth a try too! Oh and I cant forget the Honey & Cinnamon cookies THE BEST EVER!!!
J.
Always a treat to visit. Nice breads. Nice atmosphere.
T.
This place is always yum. Our family in Wellington ask us to bring bread.
B.
Delicious pastries! The French toast was divine - caramelised and spiced. Outside play area and dining tables for sunny days. Becoming a favourite stop over when travelling through.
S.
The prizes aren't for show, this bakery is a key spot to visit. Wellington has good food, surely, but honestly it doesn't have a bakery up to Clareville standard.
T.
Had a very tasty BLT here, though it was made with the ingredients half hanging out (to look great in the cabinet rather than be easy to eat) which did make it a challenge to eat. I'm looking forward to trying a cronut sometime...
S.
Delicious sourdough and croissants. Glad they welcome everyone !
S.
Brilliant food. Cafe is awesome and we had a lovely lunch. Wish we were staying longer to try more yummy food.

WOW...if you are yet to try this lovely wee bakery, then what are you waiting for!? All the amazing nationally recognised accolades aside for the tempting array of food on offer, the ambience and tranquillity of this bakery is worth it alone... 😃
p.s. take some bread home with you too, I don't feel bad fooling my friends with 'my' new found bread making skills!
R.
Food is lovely.it's very busy so your orders take a while.coffee ok.it's also very noisy so you take the crunchy with the smooth as it were.4/5 food 3/5 ambience
