This is a fantastic Japanese bakery & you can taste authentic Japanese breads (pan) including anpan (red bean bread), custard pan (custard bread), Japanese style doughnuts & savoury breads like curry bread & pork cutlets bread. It may a bit pricey, but you won’t regret tasting it😀

As a small shop in a mall, they clearly know what they are doing. They have quite a nice range of pastry, easily above local standard bakery, they have extremely good stuff here. I can not help buying always something every time I pass by this mall. Recommend

Amazing Japanese or Asian in general bread. The bread is soft. It's also a good place to get matcha green tea cakes and buns and puffs.

Amazing. This is better than anything in Auckland and the price is insanely good. Highly recommend the curry pan!

Tasty Asian style bread, savoury choices such as sausages or spicy curry bread, or sweet ones like the very popular crispy custard cream puff which is a must try, also available in smaller sizes but need to call in to pre-order. Clean and tidy display, worth a try.

Great and authentic japanese bakery. Taste is awesome it reminds me on all the delicious sweats from Japan. Staff is very friendly

Bought the chocolate cake for my son's birthday this past Friday. It was AMAZING. I definitely agree that you don't need a sweet tooth to enjoy it. It's so rich, but light, and the sweetness it has is far from overpowering. It looked exactly like the photo, too. I don't think I'll ever buy another birthday cake elsewhere again.

Incredible, authentic, fresh and amazingly delicious food! The service was fast, friendly and the items are all very well priced. The coffee was perfect! It's become my go-to bakery for my weekly treat!

Friendly staff and food quality is always consistently great. Green tea, custard Cream puffs and puddings are my favourite, definitely the best I’ve had in NZ.

I go here whenever I’m in south city. I love their meronpan and all their over food is good too. I would only recommend the matcha cake if you really like matcha as it’s strong and not very sweet.

Best pie in town!!!!!!! Much better than Sheffield and other local famous pie shops. Very close to Fairlie Bakery. Great pastry, excellent donuts! You will fall in love with all things they serve.

Love their almond croissants! Products are well priced. Have tried many almond croissants in Christchurch and theirs are the best in terms of flavour, crunchy flaky texture, and price. Also love their large green tea red bean cake, and choux au craquelin pastries with green tea or vanilla bean filling. Highly recommended!

Hard to find a quality bakery in Christchurch. This bakery is up there in terms of quality. Everything is very fresh, and well presented. Friendly service.

Green tea pudding is very nice. Fairly strong green tea flavour pudding with condensed milk. You definitely need to try it if you are green tea lover.

Sweet tooth heaven. Always end up spending over $40 on their collection without fail. As for reviews stating unfriendly staff or bad recipe, need to get real. They are human beings serving delicious treats. To err is to be human.

the fresh cream cake is awesome.ordered so many times. but this time i want to try something different. i tried the chocolate one. OMG..... its soooooooo dry.. taste terrible. no one like it at the party. u guys sure about the recipe was correct?

My daily lunch consists of a vegetarian burger and a chocolate custard donut, cannot recommend this place enough. Lovely staff and cheap prices

My fellow Kiwis, Japan cannot beat us in rugby (yet) but I believe you'll find that the best pies made throughout the entire Land of the Long white cloud are made by unbelievably brilliant Japanese baking super heroes,!!! Sugoi desu ne :)

Everything I've tried from here is amazing. I find myself going to South City just for a frankfurter from here and sushi from Sushi Time.
