B.I have stopped here lots of times. Their coffee is really good and their pies are amazing with a huge selection also. I have had the Chicken and Mushroom which is great. Also I have had their lock down pie about 3 times now. It contains beef potatoes and onions with cheese on top. One of my favorite. They also do gluten free pies and a Friend said they were one of the best gluten free pics she has ever had. I will stop again to try a different pie. Maybe not the lambs fry and bacon one tho lol
Z.The lockdown pie is so so good!! Highly recommend it but a big NO for the coffee. Sorry but no.

R.Worth a visit. Food service excellent. This is obvious when cabinets full if food at 1pm on
a Saturday. Empty when leaving 1 hour later. Very much supported by local community for both takeout food and dining in. Plenty of choices for seating indoors and outdoors. Protected from winds so on a cold but bright winters day can sit outside comfortably.
M.Fantastic Bakery! They have a great selection of food, and all of it looks amazing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our selection of chicken rolls were delicious. I will most certainly return to Darfield, even if it's just to get food from this Bakery 😀
P.Lovely pies but one of the baristas needs a lesson on customer service! Telling my partner that he couldn't stand infront of the coffee machine cos "we don't want you staring at us". Rude!! Offer table service at 2.15pm if this is the case, as you don't shut til 3pm but they seemed to want to hurry everyone along.
P.Loved every item. Got a nice steak n cheese pie. But a little mushroom snuck in there 🤔 but chunky steak pieces pastry cooked to perfection. Be back again mmm

S.We stop here almost every weekend as we go out to our section. The food is consistently good, the coffee is pretty decent and the services is always fast and friendly.
I.Just moved into town and went in for lunch. Service was really good. The ladies were really nice, asked if we were ready, their was so much to choose from. Me and my twin finally decided on a really good panini and some mini savoury pies! Can't wait to try some more bakery goods.

A.Plenty of room indoors and outdoors, with a modern and warm feel to this bakery/cafe. The cabinets are full of everything you ever wanted - sweet pastries, pies, sandwiches, salads and so much more. Very friendly staff, coffee is average but ok.

L.Kia Ora! It's very grateful time can sharing a long black together with my lovely Korean teacher & friend. 3 of us very like to enjoy the coffee time in the morning! While traveling, I would like to taste each coffee shop's long black coffee. WHY? It's because one cup of the long black shows the barista whether they have made a cup of good coffee? and the coffee bean and the water itself. I can said this is a hidden spot for traveller passed by. Normally Darfield Bakery is for locals people's spot! If you can to taste such a warm coffee, while you passing by can have a try! it's very warm during the winter time with heather!
Noticed: The coffee that I've taste was last winter time. This is a sharing for my New Zealand Trip. One of the reason which is New Zealand has a pure water itself, so can make a nice coffee. K.Very good little bakery/cafe to stop at for breakfast. It’s probably one of the only places in town so it’s definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area.
P.Their GF chocolate chippie bikkies are delicious, just need a bigger range to cater for Coeliac's. Been there heaps before diagnosis and they always have a great non gf range of food and the coffee is always a winner

F.Excellent bakery, in the top 97 percentile for my quest in the ultimate sourdough. This is only beaten by the sourdough available at raglan bakery, though I'm sure they have no competition with one another due to being separated by 1000 km.
J.The lockdown pie is amazing and the potatoe top pies have real mashed potatoe rather than potatoe dust mixed with water. I hope they keep using real potatoes instead of falling for cheap and horrible potatoe dust.

G.I like it that there is carpark availability right in front of the bakery. The service staff are also very nice and polite. We ordered the steak & mushroom pie and the peppered steak pie. The crust of the pies is good but the fillings tasted weird. Maybe it's just different from the ones we have back home in Singapore.

M.Really great bakery, with some of the nicest pies I have had in a long time. Haven't tried much of their food though so can't comment on the rest of their range, but the pies alone are worth 5 stars imo. They have several tills as well, so on busy days the line goes down fairly fast. Decent parking out front, and back. Overall a nice little bakery for Darfield.
N.Fantastic selection of fresh yummy food. Have just moved to the area and was disappointed that they close at 3pm on Saturdays which is a great time for a coffee! and closed on Sundays. With alot of visitors to the area on weekends I would have thought it would make sense to open?

B.Very tasty pies of all types at the bakery (and much much more). I compared the Sheffield and Darfield Lambsfry and bacon pies and I think Sheffield comes out a smidge ahead because it manages to preserve the flavor of the liver a bit more. You won't be disappointed and definitely worth going to if you're passing through the area.
L.Great range of cabinet food, plenty of staff to service you. Didn't have paywave which was annoying as I only had my phone on me at the time. Food a bit on the expensive side but I think it's worth it.
S.Great service... coffee ☕ ... would be great to 👀 see some keto options as there was nothing I could eat. Alot of cafes are having keto choices .. the food looked delicious 😋 though ..

B.I absolutely love the pies and cinnamon scrolls. That's all I've tried there and that's only because I can't fit more in. It's always busy, very popular and I presume because everything is always fresh delicious.

L.Fantastic bakery. On our trips to the South Island we always visit here, even if it means taking a detour as the pies are the best we have ever tasted. Last year we travelled at Easter and were lucky enough to try the chocolate easter buns...WOW! they were amazing and as we left they gave us a couple of 6 packs for nothing. This is a very busy bakery with great seating and an outside area. They have a wide selection of food and an extra bonus is the great coffee. Highly recommend.

They were expecting our group and the food shelves were full of enticing food. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. They have a choice of seating areas both inside and out.
The toilet facilities were very clean.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Darfield Bakery to New Zealand and overseas visitors.
B.1st Dec 2019 - Best bakery (in my honest opinion) in town. I always buy their pies from here whenever I pass by this town.
Plenty of pies to choose from. They also sell other foods such as sausage rolls and sandwiches.
Plenty of seats for dine in.
Clean and tidy toilets 🚻.
Overall, it was a good experience from this café.

M.Darfield Bakery is a must stop! The staff is incredible and the baked goods are all amazing. I especially recommend the brekkie sandwich. Their in house hollandaise sauce is incredible, the bacon is always cooked just slightly crispy the way I like it and the egg is poached perfectly which I have yet to master myself and appreciate immensely.
m.Have been coming here for 5 years now for a coffee and awesome sausage roll. Their pies are some of the best around. Probably better than Fairlie Bake House pies. Yum
P.They have a huge selection of baked goods. We tried some pies, cheese rolls, scotch eggs and sausage rolls. The sausage rolls were too onion-y. This is the first place in NZ we've been to who are selling scotch eggs.

S.A little disappointed in staff. We ordered, and sat at a table that was empty when we entered, but had dirty dishes and spills over the table from previous clients. Our coffees were delivered to the table, then our lunch, and still the dishes sat there..not good enough.

O.The Darfield bakery, were do I begin when we first walked in there the bakery was beautiful and very clean, I had ordered some wedges, a cream donut and a chocolate mocha everything was fantastic. My sister had the same, we have been going to the bakery for at least 6 months now and we moved to nz 7 months ago, we usually get some food from the bakery about every week they have never disappointed us ever. Would recommend people coming to get some sweets or some savings :)

S.A little disappointed in staff. We ordered, and sat at a table that was empty when we entered, but had dirty dishes and spills over the table from previous clients. Our coffees were delivered to the table, then our lunch, and still the dishes sat there..not good enough.
