Probably the most appreciated bakery cafe for the locals, they do a very good pie. Very much worth the visit on a cold day, and being a local favourite you know you'll be treated right. I would have given them 5 stars but sadly the cafe is just lacking that something to make it a memorable visit. Well worth stopping by nonetheless.

Met a friend for early lunch. Had some macaroni and cheese. Delicious. Followed by a latte. Shop was busy. Good to see. Friendly staff.

The vege pies and fries were really good. staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend. Place has been operating since 1892 and I love its history. Thanks

Great food. One of the older women staff is always grumpy , snappy etc. Thankfully don't have to tolerate her for to long. But a smile goes a long way

This is an awesome place to have a meal, cuppa and snacks. Highly recommend this bakery, staff are great and nothing is a problem.

Rolls, "quiche",... everything we had was fresh, tasty and GOOD! Definitly one of the best bakery we've been in the country!

Had lunch here. Not a great selection of food and 1 cabinet was all fogged up so couldn't see what what actually for sale

One of the best experiences I've had at a bakery. I went in and asked if there were any salad rolls as I'm a vegetarian, they didn't have any but I was kindly offered to have one made for me. Great, friendly service. Roll was delicious. Thank you so much!

Sorry but we did not enjoy our chicken pies. Two pieces of pastry with very little chicken. The two staff members were not overly friendly. Been to this bakery many times in the past but today was not a good time.

Yummy kiwi food. Good coffee. Great custard squares so returned twice. Sold out 1 day. Didn't make any the next. Will have to try another time.

The Mac 'n Cheese is to die for. Will definitely be back for more YUM. Staff are most accommodating, friendly with it. Only thing I didn't like was no printed till reeceipt and took the wee lass on the till wasted time where she could have been serving the next customer.

A neat bakery with history! Blanchfield's has been running for a long time. Known best to me for servicing dressed pies (If you have no idea what a dressed pie is, don't worry I didn't either). I'm not sure the dressed pie should exist, seeing as it's beetroot slices and peas on a pie. Pros: - Staff were friendly - Place was spotless - Unique items in the cabinet Cons: - West Coast hours (for some reason Greymouth shuts down in the afternoon) - Unique items in the cabinet

Ordered a birthday cake from Auckland for my husband who works down at Greymouth Hospital in the surgery department. Rave reviews that it was absolutely DELICIOUS and large enough for both the theater and surgery ward. Thank you for making his day special and doing such a great job - Shalene

Blanchards recently did the catering for a packed lunch for over 140 guests at the Triumph National Weekend. The lunches were great, the cost very reasonable, and they delivered to the door. A really good company if you are looking for a caterer for a large group.

I was able to discuss my own home town bakery with the owner. Takaka had a great bakery owned by Blanchy's uncle many years ago. I also went to school with Blanchy's cousin. Was a great visit and equally great to have had the opportunity to exchange our memories of his uncle and the bakery.

This is my go-to whenever I visit Greymouth. Well worth trying, the food is good and so is the coffee. One of the rare places that does filter coffee

Very good food, service and atmosphere - good prices as well!!

Had a pie and a sausage roll. The saugage roll was soggy but the pie was decent. May go back but hopefully better next time.

Wide range of lovely food...open early in morning so parking was easy...
