e.Walked in here expecting a normal kiwi bakery… until my mum brought out the sandwiches… I was super impressed by the home made bread (you can tell by the lovely chewy crusts). Also- this might be a hot take- but the chocolate eclair was better than I’ve had at the chocolate eclair shop in Ohakune. Not too sweet and with real cream 😋 What a lovely spot for lunch :))
D.Stopped at the bakery for a selection of their products including freshly made gluten free sandwich, creamed doughnut and savoury treats. 4 adults and we couldn't fault the service or food.
B.On the main road with parking usually out front, this is a decent bakery that's easy to get to. Has table and chairs out the front, and a rest room out back if you need it. They often do deals on yesterday's food which always taste pretty good to me.

We got the sausage rolls but we really can't recommend them. The filling was pasty & the flavour not meaty at all. Hopefully it was just the sausage rolls on the day 🙂 & that other days they are better.

J.Very friendly young gentleman serving at the counter. Very open and honest staff member, recommend some lovely sweet buns with currents etc in. He said my husband and I would be able to eat these without butter...he was right...they tasted awesome and they were presented well in sight of all customers coming into the bakery.

T.Went here twice(!) today. Love this place. Coffee was good. Sandwiches were good. Sweets were good. Staff were friendly. Seagulls outside were angry we didn't feed them...
Only shame was when we came back in the afternoon they were out of a few treats, but that just shows how popular this place is :)

J.Popped in to the Kaikoura Bakery just now for the first time and man oh man, it was delicious. The young chap working this afternoon was super friendly and patient with our indecisiveness. The marmite and cheese scroll was the best I have ever had!!

M.Popular place. We got pies, a veg sandwich & chelsea buns. Wasn't life changing by any means, but filled the gap before getting back on the road. A bit pricey for a kiwi bakery, but it is Kaikoura so, expected. Picnic tables out front to eat & get going.

They have a massive selection of small goodies both sweet and savoury and have amazing cream doughnuts too! Very pleasant & happy staff as well. They seem to enjoy what they are doing :) Plus everything is made on site!

The pie was very tasty apart from the unbroken yolk. The bread for the cream bun was super soft and fresh, whipped cream and chocolate icing were the perfect proportions
Staff were nice and friendly.
Outdoor seating was available but it was still wet from the frost.
Off street parking is right beside the front entrance.

V.Fabulous food but too popular. We had trouble getting in and making it to the counter was a mission and this was only 11.30am. Maybe they need a bigger shop.

T.Big beef sandwich looked good in the cabinet but was all slop. Runny mayo, wet lettuce, watery tomato. All the stuff seemed to be on top of the roll to look good rather than inside the roll to stop it falling out all over your shirt! Also, grated cheese in a sandwich? Slices people, slices! Grated cheese with watery mayo is going to end up on clothing, I have proved this to be true. Having said all the above it tasted good, although I do now need to wash my shirt.
A.Very convenient and easy to get in/park outside. The pastries, pies and sandwiches are nice but a bit pricey. Would recommend to someone who's on the go and needs something quick.
T.We had been waiting this day to revisit the Bakery. We had scones coffee and Danish pastry. Very nice. Service was good. We were there around 7am and plenty of hungry customers. Will be back again.

X.This place was amazing, the misses n I were dropping by from Christchurch and she has been going on to come here n I tell you it is reallyyyyy worth it, the staff was amazing we went on the day we arrived to check it out and try some pies, ended up having a great chat with the young guy there n he was such a good guy to talk to giving us amazing conversation and helping us decide what to eat, today went again for a second time before leaving kaikoura and it was really busy but they came through with quick customer service and once again that guy was there with a huge smile on his face to see us come back and yet another good convo :) (give this guy a pay rise)
M.What a great place to stop for a break and a well earned coffee after negotiating the winding Kaikoura coastal line. Kaikoura Bakery is one of the businesses in Kaikoura that has taken the demise of the earthquake and run with it. Parked in the business district of Kaik, it serves the best coffee and cakes along the Highway 1 expedition between Picton and Christchurch. And the coffee is not too hot either! They know how to make them. The Staff are all polite and patient with the kids when they are deciding which colour donut to have. Make sure you try their selection of cream donuts, amazing!

T.I've generally found this a good option for a quick feed while driving through Kaikoura. Pies, sandwiches, filled rolls, slices all ok. Haven't tried their coffee or loaves of bread.

B.The staff are lovely! Left my phone in the ladies bathroom, nearly closing time and continued on my trip to Christchurch.
Realised it was missing about 30 minutes down the road. Phoned them and they said they'd wait for me to return and collect! ❤
Before all that though, I definitely recommend the chicken and avocado sandwiches and yoyos!
