Great bakery. A good place to stock up before heading to the ferry as the standard of food will beat anything served once you are on the water.

I know in every town there has to be a popular bakery and THIS IS IT. Found this hidden gem by accident when my wife and I were walking the city centre. There was a queue of customers inside the shop that appeared spoilt for choices. I couldn't take my eyes off of the quiche when I saw some. The lady at counter asked if I wanted a hot one, I said yes. That was the best quiche I've had my entire life. For $7.20 the quality and quantity won't disappoint your tummy. Don't miss this bakerij if you ever visit Picton.

Great Bakery! Friendly staff, delicious pies, picnic tables so you can eat out doors and, best of all, there's plenty of space to park your bike too.

Stopped in for a steak n cheese pie but saw all the pies had been sold out, spoke to the lovely lady behind the counter and told her it was our last day before heading back to Auckland, she then handed us a free baguette and a bag of other yummy pastries, bought some other goodies aswell, thank you.

Nice food, no Bacon and egg pies on our first visit, must be popular here, nice and clean, friendly staff.

Good variety of food at reasonable prices. There's a range of "fancy" pies to try, and deliciously fresh, soft, bread. Staff are friendly and good to deal with.

Large selection of tasty Dutch influenced treats and pastries etc. Tried a range of items, little doughnut type bun with lemony custard which was amazing melt in your mouth texture. The Cherry pie cake tart was also incredible. Left the place a few KGs heavier.

A delightful place with epic food and lots of perfect pies to choose from! I don't like being charged extra for sauce, but everyone does it so I can't really fault them for that. I can't afford to eat all of my meals here everyday, but I would be fat and happy if I could. :-) Go check it out for yourself! Delicious. . .

Tables outside to eat on style. Good variety and popular. Easy to find and easy walk or find a park. Lunch cost 10 dollars.

Quite odd to come across a genuine Dutch bakery in a small town in NZ. Am currently eating one of their Sourbreads, which is excellent. They had such Dutch classics as Speculaas, Apple crumble tarts, almond filled Speculaas and buttercake. Apparently their carrot cake is really good as well.

The baking is clearly popular however as we were looking for Vegan & Vegetarian friendly, we were sadly let down. Choices were very limited and this must be one of the only places on the South Island who don’t even offer Soy or an alternative milk. We have found that even the most remote places have this as an option these days. The coffee I cannot account for however it was a push button bean to cup so no barrista required here. Coffee from these machines can be very nice however the milk tends to dried skimmed hence no other option available I guess. The bread and pastries we had were good but slightly disappointing compared to our expectations from other reviews.

Must try, locals favorite,mostly busy. Fresh breads and cabinet time. Very helpful and patient staff

Wow!! Fantastic selection and very tasty...can vouch for baguette, mince & cheese pie, mini pizza, cream doughnut and lemon meringue tart. Staff are very friendly, helpful and also patient (it's hard to decide what not to buy because everything looks amazing).

I have heard of the hype and at first it looked like a super yummy bakery and the vibe was on:). My friend who is vegetarian ordered a vegetarian pie which had a couple chunks of steak in it :( but that is okay bc she didn’t really mind I just ate the pieces and off we went yay. Most of the the other food but I had a cream donut which tasted a little burnt even though it was not so maybe they need to refine their recipe a little bit. Otherwise I would recommend to a friend if they were in need of baked goodness or if they like a range of different amounts of food. Cool that’s about it byeya.

Stopped in for a fresh pie and a sweet treat after five days dancing in a dusty paddock over New Year. Store was crammed full of (mostly rude and mannerless) tourists but the staff were efficient and remained polite. Food was excellent for a good price. Will definitely be back!

Open early which was a godsend having taken the overnight ferry (arriving at Picton 6am). Had a great savory scone for breakfast - spinach/feta/ham.

What a gourmet selection to choose from. You won't be disappointed.

Great quality bakery food - the pies were really tasty (totally recommend the curry mince pie) and the pastries were delicious. The staff were super friendly and helped to give suggestions too. A must-stop in your in the area!

Great bakery food for your trip down south, and at great prices.

A great variety on offer here, pies, sammies, bread rolls a huge selection of sweet slices, Danish, doughnuts etc. We tried a mince pie which was delicious, a sandwich which had plenty of fillings, and a doughnut again delicious. All really fresh and well made.

Was really looking forward to visiting this bakery on our last day before returning back to Auckland. But much to our dismay found the tall blonde young lady serving to be very very rude. After placing our order we ordered coffee and was told sorry you have to wait for your coffee which was fine with us. But not long after paying she stormed out of the bakery not making the coffee. The other lady then offered to make us coffee which we thoroughly enjoyed. We did notify her that we would be writing a review. Best pies enjoyable coffee but be forwarned when you see that lass stay clear she is capable of serving you a very bad start to your day. This is a pity cause honestly sometimes such an attitude can do more damage to your business than good.

Visit the bakery every time I''m in Picton. The quality of the food hasn't changed in the past 20 odd years I' ve live in Marlborough, delicious. Staff are friendly and the service is excellent.

This is a hidden gem, my son asked "didn't you know about this place"? Not in the center of town but an easy walk. Delicious sandwiches and rolls. Great selection of sweet slices. Easy to get to if heading to the Interislander and only a short detour if using the Bluebridge ferry. Everything is well priced and the service is prompt. Make a point of dropping in.

Overall average experience. Staff seemed miserable & the pie was below average, very dry. I think you need to adjust your pie warmer temperature.

Superb fresh food with slightly frizzled staff when we arrived - they were getting slammed with customers and a queue out the door. Bought a heap of stuff and all of it delicious.

Custard squares are to die for, but everything is delicious!...update six months later. Have now discovered the cronuts, stuffed with whipped cream and blueberry deliciousness...oh my god!!!! Yum

Bacon and cheese Sausage rolls are a must try! But get in early they go fast. Want to try something different go for the double bangers sausage roll.

Super friendly staff who were even happy to pack our treats into containers I brought along. Good vegetarian options. Highly recommend the vegetarian pie! Will be going back before boarding the ferry on the trip home.

Pies are as good as the reviews! Delicious, hot and baked fresh daily. We went for the steak and cheese and chicken. The little Afghans were a lovely sweet treat for after! Would def come back!

I can confirm what other people are talking about. We stopped very early in the morning to catch the first the ferry. The bakery offered a full range of different hearty and sweet pastries. Everything looked very delicious and what we bought also tasted great. The price is not cheap, but I would not call it expensive. Definitely recommend it - don't miss it!

Best bakery in Picton 👍 The Bombelino is ssooo ggooodd mmmh yummy 😋 homemade sausage rolls n others, flaky pastry very nice. Lots to choose from but best time to go is definitely before 12noon-1pm! Otherwise you may miss out! Lots of delectables too satisfy any craving plus not too bad coffee, moderately priced yet Dutch Bakers are seriously awesome Bakers in my book. Various cold drinks as well oh an if you're not in a hurry or have a few minutes before cruising on the Ferries then sit under sun shades or in sun and just immerse yourself in the good food. 👌😁💙

Excellent baked goods, pies, pastries, but go for the bread!

Pretty good bakery, I've been a few times. Solid pies. My favorites are the chicken Camembert and the steak and Blue Cheese. The system for ordering is kind of chaotic, which I do not love. Very tasty food though.

Had a wonderful breakfast this morning. Clean bright friendly. Plenty on the plate to satisfy. Also took home some of the pies on offer...OMG these are the best pies ever. Light fluffy pastry and thefillings were amazing. Highly recommend this Cafe. :)

Loved the vegan sandwiche here. They have delicious bakery meals. It has Newzealand's kiwi famous desserts which is creamy doughnuts. I loved this place. Good options for vegans & vegetarians. Also for kiwi food lovers. Located on a corner behind the main Street and easily found on Google maps.

Really nice friendly staff with good recommendations for their food (of which they had a great range). I tried the sweet chilli chicken and cream cheese pie and the steak and blue cheese pie. The chicken pie was nice but the blue cheese pie was sublime. Lovely food all around.

What's not to like about this spot? Great choice of filled rolls and sweet things at a reasonable price. Coffee is better and cheaper than the cafes in town too. Friendly and helpful staff. An ideal spot to grab some food for al fresco dining!

Food was great value for money and was happy at tons of options for vegetarians . Happy to see they sell olly bol also, my oma would have been happy to see those .

Great spot! Used to love grabbing breakfast here on my way to work until they started parking their truck in the on street parking spot. Would suggest leaving patron parking for patrons.

Besides the very tasty sausage rolls that are similar to the Dutch ones, the bakery doesn't offer any real Dutch food. They have a lot of other products available that looked very good. The coffee is really bad (coffee machine, not barista-made), but the staff was friendly.

The Bakery has set itself up for the quick turn round of people wanting a quick stop and grab something to take on the ferry. There are a few on road parking spots and also a car park on the other corner. We were in and out with our breakfast in hand inside 2 minutes. Tasty buns and scones.

This bakery is open early in the morning and perfect for a quick bite before getting on the early ferry. Butter chicken pie I had was quite good as well.

Dropping from 5 to a 3 star. The curry hot pie is way too salty. The stake hot pie is salty also. Only the bacon&egg pie is good, albeit still little too salty. Tried a couple of hot pies. Like the bacon&egg one. Also had a butter cake. It's sinfully good.

So many delights to chose from. The pastries are out of this world and the pies were good. Would like to see more seating but well worth visiting, getting some delights and picnicking at the harbour front.

We had 2 sausage rolls, a cinnamon cream doughnut and a custard bun. They were all very delicious (especially the cream doughnut, yum!) and it was a very reasonable price, around 11 NZD.

We live in Picton and can never walk past without getting something. The only problem is everything is really nice and there is too much to choose from! Staff are really friendly and helpful.

OMG! If you visit Picton without dropping by this bakery then you've missed one of the finest takeaway experiences in New Zealand. Think about soft white round roll, hole in the middle, poached egg in it (still runny!), covered in bacon, cheese, then baked. Or fresh sausage roll with cheese! Best filled rolled in Marlborough. Do yourself a favour! But wait time can be 10 minutes to be served.

Its been 5 years since Ive been here and I stay awake every night tossing and turning in endless agony that I wont ever be able to afford to return here. I would gladly lay down my life in battle to be held in the warm buttery flakey embrace of this bakery one more time. The wheat is harvested from the fields of Elysium. The fillings for the pies can only come from the fabled animals of the garden of Eden. The first bite brought an overpowering euphoria that brightened my soul and made me forget every bad thing that has ever happened to me. When I had finished my 3rd pie in that single sitting I wept because no mortal should achieve complete nirvana and then be forced to go back to living a normal life.

This is one of the best bakery’s I have ever been to. There is a brilliant selection of pastries and rolls. If you are looking for a quick bite there isn’t anything better.

Aside from the generic NZ bakery food, this place has awesome Dutch baked goods. The gevulde spakulaas is to die for!!! 💜

Yum, so much to choose from without blowing the budget or waistline. Focaccia/pizza bread with feta, cherry pie, cream bun all tasty and fresh.
