I've been a fan of The Regal Shortbread Co's baking since ages ago and she just keeps getting better and better. I love the ever changing variety of her mostly-vegetarian savoury offerings and sweet treats - miss the days when I could buy them every week! The pic is of a spectacular banoffee pie, which tasted incredible - no longer on the menu but there's plenty else to choose from. Go on, you won't be disappointed! (I especially recommend the milk tart if you like custard.)

I absolutely adore this wee bakery stall at the Thorndon Farmers Market! Anita, aka the Duchess, has an endearing and bright personality which is one of the things that really make her so popular there! She is one of the biggest stalls at the market and brews some fantastic Elemental coffee. Anita and her staff are also always cheery, friendly and funny! She makes all sorts of cake, cookies, AMAZING croissants, sourdough bread and even makes (anything you want) to order. Highly recommend.

Amazing micro-bakery in Whitby. Anita, the owner, is super friendly as well as a passionate baker of beautiful and tasty delights. Well worth looking at the online options as well as visiting in store if you get a chance. Added extra, this cafe offers a cup library where you can get your takeaway espresso in a real cup, and return it on your next visit - saves on landfill, and they use ethical coffee. Highly recommend their nougat, choconana loaf, and a vegan orange chocolate cake. Mmmmmm! All vegetarian options, some vegan and dairy free, some gluten free. Good for your conscience and your taste buds. Highly recommend.

Anita bakes the most amazing shortbread, cakes, croissants, biscuits, pies and bread, as well as deliciously roasted coffee at the saturday market. During the week I order other baked goods from her that are delivered a few times a week! Some of the best vegetarian pies I've ever eaten.
