A. C.Omg. What a find. Freshly baked Pies... soft fluffy yet crispy crust with rich filling. Be prepared to pay higher prices though - these are not BP Pies lol

P. A.Pies are supreme but I was surprised at the range of food available for take away. No wonder there are always a lot of cars, campervans and trucks parked outside. Have called in often (usually to get a bag of pie seconds, which are a bargain at $2 each!) and I don't remember the shop ever being without customers!!
R. S.Jimmy must have been having an off day when we bought there. The dressed pie was tasteless apart from the tomato sauce, and the potato top was badly sunburnt and dry. Teaches me to look inside the bag before driving away. Gingerbread loaf was delicious though, so not all bad. But Jimmys is no longer on my goto list.

G. G.Worth it! Randomly read about it in a travel guide (which I don't normally go with) and I'm so glad I tried one. Had a mutton pie and every bite was delicious. Filling was well-seasoned, tasty and the quality of meat was excellent. The crust was substantial, flaky and screamed of homemade goodness.

V. K.Nice! Drove by and needed to stop. We had kind of a "Jimmy's pie tasting" ;) we had 4 pies, and all soooo good, fresh and homemade. Nice and helpful staff. We had: minced/cheese, chicken/brie/plumsauce, lamp shaft and the steak pie. All good.

R. J.Stopped by here on our way through for lunch. The lady who served us was very friendly. I have always loved Jimmy’s pies even though when purchased from a dairy they are normally soggy!! Buying direct from where they are baked though solves this problem! Their bacon mince and cheese pies are excellent!!
F.A must stop if you are passing this way. Pies priced reasonably and some of the tastiest around. I would recommend the lemon tart.

R. K.I only found out about this place a couple of weeks ago. Went to Queenstown and drove down to Roxburgh. Let me tell you, it was worth the trip down. The Mince and Cheese, and Mince pie were out of this world.
You guys need to start spreading further than Christchurch.

J. W.I'm going to review even though I haven't been to the shop in years. I live in Australia now but as soon as I got off the plane the first thing I looked for was a Jimmy's Pie. That's the one thing I crave all the time. I even told my daughter partner all about them so much that he bought one and now he's addicted too. When we leave central on Wednesday for Dunedin we will be stopping in for our fill of pies. Thanks Jimmy for making the best pie all those years ago and for keeping the original recipe that we all love.

W.Bloody delicious pies!!! The mince and cheese is the biggest winner here, I think. I think there’s also a decent curry one and of course a good steak one.
A classic and a must in this strange boring and beautiful little town. Come to Roxburgh for the fruit and the pies, not much else there.
M. S.My friend and I recently visited this bakery after a terrible Jimmy’s Pie experience in Dunedin.
We thought about giving it another opportunity.
Our 4/5 is a culmination of a few factors, however this is what we had:
Mince pie 5/10
Lamb shank pie 6/10
Beef and chilli 9/10
Vanilla slice 6/10
**NB - we weren’t allowed to use a 7.
Overall , finding the bakery was good experience where we could enjoy the scenery and the food.
I would 100% recommend dropping in and trying a few pies.

P. C.An essential stop on our visits back to NZ. These pies are just awesome and deserve their great reputation. Bacon, cheese and mince is a favourite but there's so many others to try. Also have slices, coffee and cold drinks available. The store itself is very small but there is space to sit and take a breather at front and side of shop. They do take EFTPOS but no paywave.

M. H.Every pie lover must do a pilgrimage to Roxburgh to sample Jimmy's pies from the source. I recommend the mutton pie not greasy as you would imagine but firm fragrant and mildly spiced. They do also have a fantastic selection of cabinet food as well as an amazing variety of classic kiwi cakes and slices. This is a must do in central Otago.

G.If you think this is just a plain old pie shop you are exceeding misguided, it is a purveyor of exceptional baked goods pies being just some of them, the cream buns are a gastronomic delight and should be brought in bulk and never as a single one is NEVER enough, the pie which they are legendary for should also be sold in at least pairs for the sake of humanity, you only have to go a couple of minutes down the road and watch the depressing faces of people eating them as they drive past realizing they only brought one. So if you go past and they are open and you don't stop for anything you should hold your head in shame. Easily one of my top three bakeries in New Zealand

J. -.Wonderful pies with light, flakey pastery that isn't greasy. The apple pie is lovely with big chunks of apple and isn't overly-sweet. You definitely need to get a couple of pieces of custard slice as well!
Only downside is they do not have any vegetarian options or chicken pies - everything is red meat and sweet pies.

J. O.I was very disappointed to cut into our apricot pie and its apple. We bought 4 of them so far one of each. The label is clear apricot. They are beautiful but not what we wanted.
J. S.We bought chicken rolls. Mine had no chicken ...just boiled egg..so I'm assuming the egg came before the chicken. For $5.90 it was an expensive bread roll with a bit of shredded lettuce, some tomato and some hard boiled egg.

If you're at a loss about which meaty pastry to choose, try the apricot chicken – you’re in orchard country after all. Heading south, you’ll find the Jimmy’s shop on your right just as you’re leaving town.
