Delicious! I've been missing authentic bagels. Friendly, lovely stop :) highly recommend. Really good coffee as well, cheap combo deal. No extra for alternative milk.

Had a Boss Hog and could have easily gone back for a second...Soo good! But for the price I couldn't justify seconds. The coffee however was too good not to have a second cup. Beautiful long black and their flat whites were great too...not too milky, which is pretty common. The seating is limited but on a sunny day it's a great place to sit and enjoy a low key brekky and a quality cup of coffee.

Yummy Bagels served 😋 lovely staff ❣Appreciate Rosa as a team member and very caring person for her customers she is serving in stores. She made the visit more memorable .Really happy with food and experience.

Incredible, fresh bagels with a wide variety of topping options. Very cool atmosphere with approachable staff and good music. Well priced, especially when combined with their Tuesday special (a free coffee with the purchase of a bagel). The King Salmon is not to be missed!

Unashamedly have no photos because I scoffed my tuna bagel in 5 minutes flat. Great coffee too. Definitely prefer Cuba St to Wellington Airport but when you're waiting for a flight ... why the heck not!

Great for a quick bite! The bagels are made in-house, right in front of you. There is only one variety of bagel (everything?) And it's good! There are lots of filling options! I got the White Rabbit which was delicious - cream cheese, tomato, basil, and a very nice lemon olive oil. It was fast and filling!

It's pretty hard to find good bagels in New Zealand so I was pretty happy to have stumbled across this place last night. It was closed but as soon as I got up this morning I went it. Loved the atmosphere and positive vibes from the staff. The bagel I had was simple but delicious (definitely amongst the best this country has to offer). My only criticism would be to have more varieties on offer, but I can't justify a lower score for that.

The bagel was tasty, staffs were nice too. But I felt that it’s little expensive, $16 for just bacon Avocado tomato on toasted bagel. I would rather to buy my lunch somewhere else with the same budget.

Went to Best Ugly Bagels today for lunch before heading out of Wellington. I got the King Salmon, it was fantastic, salmon was delicious, perfect balance of components. The other half got the cheese and marmite, it looked delicious and I'm told it was perfect. Definitely will return here next trip.

So awesome! I’ve never been to a bagel shop like this one. Fully open kitchen so you get to see how they make the bagels. And a fully operational wood oven! I went there twice. I’m pretty sure I got the Boss hog (classic and delicious) and the T.A.B. (Pretty simple but tasty). Go here and eat some good breakfast and just watch how they make ‘em! So fun.

FRESH handmade bagels (fun to watch) with friendly staff. They have a variety of bagels to choose from and you can buy a bag to take home. Great choice of toppings and menu items too. A definite must for a quick tasty meal while around Cuba St.

I walked past Best Ugly Bagels late at night and immediately knew that this place was something special. Coming by on a Monday morning, my intuition was immediately confirmed. Bagels were being freshly made and the staff were friendly and super efficient. I had the tuna melt which was delightfully fresh and flavoursome. Their menu items are reasonably priced at around $5-15 dollars depending on the contents of the bagel. One of a kind eatery!

What’s not to like?! The vibes here are dope, the bagels are yum as and the coffee is great - love this spot!

Bagels are soft and chewy, and they're topped with a great combination of ingredients. Picture is of a Yodi. These are reasonably priced, just slightly on the more expensive end of the spectrum. My order was a little too salty for my liking, but it's probably due to all the toppings... still great feed!

We had the best ugly bagels in Auckland and couldn't wait to try it again when we visit here in Wellington. We had this as breakfast. Hands down the best sesame bagel I had. Coffee was great too. Staffs are friendly and love how they yell out orders.

Went for the iced maple coffees and ended up getting their limited time Big Rig bagel burger. It was SO GOOD. Perfect ingredient and flavour ratio 👌

So yeah, this place rocks. Bagels were spot on (Montréal style, not NY), the smoked salmon was awesome, and the coffee was great, too! Had the smoked salmon, dill, capers and cream cheese on a sesame seed bagel and a long black. A+!

The best food place in the whole of Wellington City. You will not be disappointed by the quality of the bagels and service on offer here. Still to try the coffee, but they serve Havana coffee, so it has to be good. Can't go wrong with this beautiful little venue! I recommend the peanut butter and raspberry jam bagel. 😎🇳🇿🙌☀

Wonderful bagels! Came here for some breakfast and was not dissapointed! Very quick and friendly service love how all the staff yell out the bagel you order. Very tasty! Any menu item is going to be a good idea. Make sure you check this place out.

Reliably able to impress any visitor, very casual eatery is primarily a production point that preps delicious bagels. Go here for a quick bite, either a lux take on PB&J or a solid classic like the pastrami and Yarsdale Yodi bagel. Coffee options are really good quality using Havana beans from across the way, and chocolate milk for mochas. Also, they have an excellent range of other local craft products including hot chocolate, chilli sources, Fix and Fogg peanut butter among others. Go here to look cool, eat really well, and take a moment to soak it in.

Amazing bagels, amazing coffee, would definitely recommend. I got one with bacon, avacado, and tomato. It was fresh, delicious, and filling. There was a generous amount of avocado which I was happy to see. Menu had plenty of good options to choose from and was not disappointed. The place was very very busy and managed to deliver high quality food in a timely fashion. I would go again.

Tasty bagels, but overall I think this place is overrated. While it has the unique selling point of doing Montreal style bagels in their own wood oven, and the bagels are tasty enough, there are too many annoying things to make me want to eat here. There is hardly any seating, because most of the massive shop area is take up by the huge oven. I didn't go at a peak time but all the inside and outside seats (about 20) were occupied and it's not like there's a nice park close by you can go and sit in. There is no choice of bagel variety in your sandwich. Why sell 4 varieties of bagel but only allow sesame to be used in the cafe? It's also really noisy inside because the staff at the till yell the orders to the kitchen staff, who then respond (like in certain Japanese restaurants). This place suffers from too many hipsters and the celebrity chef owner syndrome. I mourn for Wholly Bagels as a sit down bagel cafe. Personally, I'd buy the bagels (if you really want this type of bagel) and take them home to eat, rather than stopping here.

Super tasty bagel with a generous slathering of their home made hazelnut/chocalate spread. The coffee was really good and came quickly. I'll definitely be stopping by the next time I go through Wellington airport.

First time visiting Best Ugly Bagels and had a lovely breakfast today. Great of selections of bagels for vegetarians. I hope in the near future a Best Ugly Bagels will be in Christchurch. My daughter who celebrated her 12 year old birthday enjoyed the orders been called out.

Good bagels, bad customer services. For some reason the cashier lady was a bit frustrated with me, maybe because it took me time to decide which bagel to order. It was the very first time to try this shop... Also they shout your name as if you were deaf. It means you need to hear the shouts for other customers too if you eat inside. But again, bagels were good (tomato and avocado).

Oh yeah Now that's a great bagel. Eat in for a cool experience too.

Really Delicious bagels! I'm a massive fan of the king salmon and the boss hog. My only problem is the price, as I feel despite the taste, the ingredients/amount of food don't quite warrant as high a price as they have (not that this will deter me at all). Overall though they're quick and very delicious!

Great toasted sesame bagel. The queue can be long during peak times. Cold and hot drinks available as well. Great taste and quality for its price. The brekky menu ranges from $4-6 and the classics / vegetarian options range around $9-15. I wouldn’t go for coffee here. They’re the best for bagels, but not coffee.

A quaint little place that serves some pretty amazing bagels. It's not something I would've expected to order in Wellington but it certainly was a great way to kick-start the day. They serve sweet and savoury bagels but since the savoury options were on the heavy side I decided to go for PB & J. Really loved the texture and fragrance of the peanut butter and the tanginess of the jelly!

I come from the Land of Bagels™️ in the States and had just about given up finding a decent bagel in the Southern Hemisphere. But when I wandered past the Best Ugly Bagel, the atmosphere drew me in - it’s a really cool, industrial space! And I wasn’t disappointed. I got the King Salmon and, while it wasn’t a New York Bagel, it was by far the best bagel I’ve had outside of the east coast US. The seasoning, especially, was on point (I think it was just salt and pepper, but it really helped make the salmon flavor pop). And the service was much friendlier haha. It was the perfect experience for a homesick America. Highly recommend 😊

Delicious bagel and good coffee. Nice place to sit in the morning sun and get ready for the day. Bagels seem on the expensive side until you see a massive load of wood being brought in for the oven and start to appreciate you are getting a really lovingly made delicious, slightly smoky flavoured treat.

We are regulars at the Auckland branch and as expected Wellington was just as good. So great to have consistently good bagels! Never short on the toppings. The staff are always upbeat and friendly and the maple iced coffee is epic.

I would come back again to try the other ones. It was yummy!

Top wellington eating spot. Idiosyncratic staff communication, quick service, casual yet funky ambience and soft, delicious bagels with both interesting and classic flavour combos. They even have a gluten free, snack and sweet bagel options. Well made havana coffee and interesting car lot graffiti urban views.

This place is amazing! We came twice in two days and every time they were packed. Service is quick and friendly. While you wait you can watch the bagels being made in their giant wood-oven and at the assembly line. The best part is watching a batch of finished bagels being pulled out and tossed into the bagel bin, it’s magical. We tried the Chickaboom, Yodi, and Mean Joe Green and they were all delicious. It is difficult to grab a seat, but there is counter space if you don’t mind standing. Definitely a must in Wellington!

Expensive but delicious snack-sized bagels baked on site in their impressive wood-fired oven. The place has a buzz and the staff are friendly. Grab a seat at the counter and take in the action or people watch from the window seats. Order takes about 10 minutes. Great spot.

Great hipster place right at the center of Wellington. Had two different bagels, very good. A little too salty overall, the toppings could we more fine and subtle. Highly recommended.

Sooooooo good! I had the Fricken Chicken (I am going to try to copy that recipe at home, it was the best breakfast sandwich I have had in a long time!) And my picky boyfriend had a chocolate bagel with butter... Also delicious! I wish I had stocked up on their bagels before leaving NZ, I'll be missing their woodfired bagel goodness. If you miss going here in Wellington, they do have a location in Auckland (if you happen to be heading that way). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Cuba Street area and need some cheap eats.

Amazing little shop. Cool aesthetics and a very nice environment. The cashier was super lovely. I only had a hot chockie so can't speak to their entire selection but it was a brilliant hot chocolate!

Being from Montreal and spoilt by saint viateur bagels I can say these are the real deal. Thanks to the lovely lady who got them fresh for me in a paper bag. That’s the way. I wish they would do a special like Montreal how we buy them by the dozen :) highly recommend! Merci

Al does it again. What a brilliant concept. I personally find the order being repeated by all the staff a lot of fun. Had the classic salmon bagel. Had thought it was reasonably pricey but given the overall concept was a passing thought rather than a genuine complaint.

Got the salmon bagel, and in one word: F.R.E.S.H. Everything on it was super, and the bread was delish. Also love their cute announcing when someone makes an order here. Groovy place.

Went here recently for the WOAP burger week. Their burger/bagel was to die for. Service in there is awesome, and all the staff seem to be loving what they do, which makes all the difference for the whole experience that best ugly bagels is

Tasty but not the best bagel I've ever had a and a little on the pricey side. The Yodi was good but had a very thin slice of pastrami for the $12, not bad but wasn't great.

This place is god tier. I hit this place day one, went back every day and tried everything on the menu. It's the one thing I've missed most since coming back to Australia. There's a particular kind of joy to this place, and the food is top notch. What makes it special. You walk in, the oven is right there taking the chill out of the air. You're approached, what are you having? You choose something off the board, what's your name? You tell them and are answered by a chorus of happy bakers repeating your order. Then it gets to you. Try the Yodi. It's a punch of habenero mustard, a perfectly chewy and slightly sweet bagel, a smokey slab of pastrami, a sharp tang of pickle, a perfectly crusted perfectly gooey slice of swiss cheese. Try anything. It's as good as that. It's really that simple. You won't regret this one. These folks are working actual magic.

A fun place for a snack or a meal. Enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly donut, added some chilli sauce at the counter, was an excellent addition. They have a bunch of more meal sized bagels also. Definitely worth checking out.

Went to the Airport restaurant. At first I thought it was a little bit pricey for what we got, but OMG - it was worth it. The flavour was superb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back when in Wellington!

This is exactly the same as any other Best Ugly in the country. So there is no worry of a quality drop. If you haven't been here, then you can reschedule assured that it's the best bagel in town.

Seemed quite pricey for what you get but they were pretty tasty. The person that served us our food just called out our name and then almost threw our food on the counter and walked away - not the best customer service experience.

Fresh ingredients, positive service. I'm not entirely sure the yelling of the orders back and forth really adds anything given obviously it runs on an electronic docket system, but that's a small thing.
