A.Super classic kiwi bakery! A huge range of affordable sweet treats and a mass of pies. I noticed only one vegetable pie—pumpkin pie. I’d assume vegetarian (because NZ doesn’t use lard often) but not sure and didn’t try it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the apple doughnut and partner loved the flapjack! The custard slice has thick flakey layers of pastry and a smooth custard filling. Loved it all!
Q.Always good to stop for a midnight pie to soak up the nights consumption. Being 24hrs over the weekend has helped save me many a hangover the morning after!!

A.Love the sandwiches and pies here. Sometimes the sweet baking can be a tad dry, but I love how this place is local and affordable. Even better, it's open 24 hours on Friday which is so convenient!

J.This used to be the best bakery in town. Prices have been increasing and quality has dropped slightly. The biggest turn off for me is their lack of available options in the morning. I would be there every day but now I just tend not to waste my time.

J.Hataitai Hot Bread Shop has the wonderful, friendly service you'd want from a neighbourhood, family owned shop and the delicious and affordable food that goes with it. Can easily have savoury and sweet for $6-$7 and be super full. Come here every time I'm in Hataitai!

M.Fresh made NZ bakery items, wonderful taste and made just right, how I remember growing up. Delicious donuts, cakes, breads, lamingtons; also has a large stock of good looking meat pies and sausage rolls.
Try the lolli cake- just like how my mother makes it!
