Reviews of Leeds Street Bakery
F.
Best croissant I have ever tasted it was flakey buttery the folds tells it all it was crazy delicious makes me wana cry we also tried the salted caramel cookie and yes amazing the coffee was also really good it breaks my heart we don't have this kind of level in Auckland I can't really get over it and regret that we should've ate more and just stayed there till they close as we came back the next day they were closed worth coming back
S.
The cutest Bakery Café in Wellington.
Definitely the best coffee.
And the staff here are just amazing.
Nothing on the menu or in the cabinets is average. Just sublime!
I.
These may just be the best croissants in Wellington!! Gorgeous soft buttery pastry and the coffee is delicious too. Lovely, friendly staff and a really great little spot to enjoy a morning treat. Been a few times and it never disappoints (except when they run out of croissants) so be sure to get there early enough or reserve some through their website.
J.
It's a nice, cute small coffee shop. We found this due to Wellington Advent Calendar. The sizes of the cookies are quiet huge and their pies are really yum too. We tried the potatoes and leek pie.
You get coffee served in a takeaway cup, which was a bit disappointing for me because I prefer to drink my cuppa from a coffee cup, but again the focus is onsite bakery.
D.
Awesome bakery. Great staff. Amazing coffee.
Stopped here for breakfast was amazing. Highly recommended. Bread is so good
N.
The smell of freshly baked bread is all I need to keep coming back. But then they put up a plate for the Watas - Wellington Avocado and Toast Awards and wow what an incredible dish. It was a whole avo served on freshly baked bread and goats cheese, a beautiful nutty light oil and perfectly seasoned. A simple and elegant dish with so much flavour with only three elements on the plate it truly sings, great value at $17 and well worth it. Two days later and I'm still dreaming about my next visit for their answer to avo on toast.
N.
Tasty cheese scones, avo and PB toast and coffee. We were served a very average croissant though - more like a brioche bun.

It’s so great having family or friends who are passionate foodies. So handy when it comes to having them recommending cool eateries in town, and today we are happily led to Leeds Street Bakery for a quick, light lunch and another shot of caffeine.
We share a couple of rolls made from baguettes which are lovingly crafted by their in-house bakers. Look out for the fresh artisan loaves of bread for sale on your left at the entrance. The staff are very friendly, and very helpful, happily providing a small and sharp serrated knife to cut our crunchy and soft baguettes for sharing.
The sweet treats on offer here are legendary in Wellington and we succumb to a biscuit and glazed scroll, both of which are sublime. For great service, proudly crafted baking goods and very well made coffees etc, this a top spot to try.
H.
Delicious toast based menu options and little cabinet treats with great coffee and friendly service. Highly recommend the goat cheese toast!
D.
Sausage roll with a difference...harissa. Best sausage roll ever.... And then there's the salted caramel cookies...the best. Gluten free ones are great too. A habit forming find I think....
S.
I love slightly pretentious food but don't pretentious people, so this bakery is ideal for scratching the itch for a higher class of baked goods without feeling the need to Google how to pronounce anything before I order.
D.
Holy moly guacamole, their chocolate almond croissant is to die for !!!! I left mine overnight and it was still delicious 🤤 I’m not a big caramel person but it’s a damn delicious cookie ! Definitely recommend !
R.
really great little place in the middle of town. Lovely food too. Bacon Cheese and Avo sandwich. Make their own Sourdough!
O.
Amazing place! Everyone who wrote comments below was right - the salty caramel cookies are awesome. You should definitely try them.
K.
The pies, pastries and cookies are phenomenal. Coffee is my favourite in Wellington, so yummy. Best sourdough too. Love this little gem.
J.
This cafe is amazing 👏 shared the slated caramel cookie with my mom and the next day we went back to share another🙈 the staff is awesome too!
L.
Small bakery with minimal seating. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I had the much talked about salted caramel biscuit and coffee. It was a large cookie that looked good and I don't know if I was expecting alot due to the hype, but, I was disappointed. Is it supposed to be crunchy outside, that's what I thought it would be and chewy in the middle. It was a chewy biscuit with no crunch and the taste was okay but nothing special for me, maybe was not fresh.
The one thing I was a little shocked with was one staff member with gloves and mask was separating a stack of cookies, another staff member came to assist with no mask or gloves.
D.
Excellent pies and hot cross buns, filter coffee was great too
R.
Scone Review : Cheese and chive. Several scone options on offer here. An unusually small scone, sub 100g. Despite quite a lot of chives it was a surprisingly bland and flavourless, no cayenne, minimal salt. No external crunch and quite a dry crumbly interior.
A rather disappointing 60.
Maybe the date scone is better.
A.
Bread, bread glorious bread. That wonderful aroma, some butter and you have yourself an experience. Too boot great coffee.
Finally, did I tell you about the Pies? No, because to do it justice you need to head down and fill your gob.
It also tries it best to be organic as possible. Totes respect for your kaupapa.
All that is left to say is yum,yum
Z.
I think this might be the best pie I've ever had and I take my pies pretty seriously.
y.
Chive scone was nice, but chai latte was worse than average. A lady took my order forgot to serve me the scone and never apologized. Great location.
M.
Great bakery and cafe. They have an outdoor shaded area and serve red rabbit coffee.
S.
The best bakery in town, by far. These guys are run by the former Ti Kouka owners, which was the best cafe by far, everything these guys touch turns to gold. If I win lotto, I'm going buying into this operation because whatever these guys create, it's just so delicious and amazing. Even the simple bacon sandwich, with their bread is just off the charts. The sausage roll is insanely good. I wish they served up the homemade kombucha they used to do at Ti Kouka. Every other bakery pales in comparison.
P.
I purchase their wholemeal loaves and slice before freezing. Then I toast as needed, add avocado and eat while warm.ABSOLUTELY delicious and healthful :) . Also, staff very friendly and helpful.
E.
Leed Street is one of my favourite cafes to come to in Wellington. Great coffee (They use Red Rabbit), and the staff is always so friendly! Shout out to Eva, her coffees are always on point. Also, if your looking for the best scones in Wellington, Leed Streets date scone is the one to beat.
A.
Delightful avocado on toast with a generous portion of avos! The bread is straight from the bakery and fragrant. Friendly staff.
R.
A small friendly cafe and bakery that serves a simple lunch, about 8 things on the menu, some vegetarian or you can buy a freshly baked loaf.
L.
The date-cinnamon bunns are very good. Stuff is very friendly and its nice and cozy inside. Good place for a relaxed breakfast
M.
Super friendly staff, excellent coffee, and great breakfast options! Avocado on toast is spot on!
M.
Outstanding food, friendly staff, and delicious coffee. We could clearly taste the love and precision in every single item.
Planning to come here every weekend 🌹
J.
I pretty enjoy my coffee here, the café is in between Eva St and Leeds St, not too difficult to locate if you're tourist, nice coffee, I had Cheese and Rocket scone for a Saturday 9am start up breakfast, service is nice, most of the place in NZ need to request for water but this place they just service you even you just have a coffee, nice touch, highly recommended
B.
Great bakery and cafe. Their bread, coffee and baked goods are all top notch.
K.
Delicious avo toast, coffee and salted caramel cookies!
D.
My wife and I are regulars at Leeds St Bakery. Polenta bread and their chocolate caramel cookies are two highlights, but everything is good. Nice shady outdoor area for spring and summer coffee times.
N.
I had the lamb sausage roll and it was delicious. And they also do a great coffee.
S.
Good deserts but who puts celery in pies 😓
A.
Nice coffee and great cookies. The staff are fine, but not the friendliest by Wellington's standards. Not a good place for nomads to perch, except maybe early-mid morning. They value table turnover and will move you along the second it looks like it's getting busy. They've recently covered the power outlets too. I recommend Heyday, Raglan Roast or Black Coffee if you're looking for somewhere friendlier to perch during the day.
b.
Great little bakery. Has a good menu for breaks items as well. Coffee good.
T.
Amazing little bakery and cafe tucked away here in Wellington! Highly recommend! Amazing fresh bread and even better coffee! They use Red Rabbit Coffee Beans! Very nice!
U.
30Sep16 There's a real bakery here with a cafe attached. You can walk into the bakery, through the front door, and buy freshly baked bread at the counter. Many different types of breads and baked products. The bakers and staff are friendly. They obviously love what they do judging by their smiles and waves as we waved at them on the three times we walked past. A church mate and I went into the attached cafe and ordered takeaway coffees. The cafe seats about 16 people if they squeeze. But there are tables outside too. Desserts and other treats on display in cabinets. Very tempting. Yumm. we were on a high by the time we walked the rest of the way to the Michael Fowler Center.
G.
I go for the freshly baked bread. All sour dough and wonderful combinations of different grains and flours. Nice crunchy crust. The loaves are dense but that's what makes them nice.
The attached cafe is ok but coffee is from a machine. Food is ok. A few seats outside. Nice place with character in the alleyway by the Hannah building.
J.
Pretty good. Coffee was a little av, but that could have been the soy they used. The Reuben toasty was okay, maybe a little too much sweet pickle, which made it hard to taste the other ingredients. The Salted chocolate caramel cookie was great though!
A.
The best croissants you can get in Te Aro. The stuff are very friendly, helpful and attempt to your needs. All the food we tried has been outstanding.
A.
Great coffee and you have to try the cheesecake, it's the bestest!

P.
Outstanding service and food. Amazing experience overall and props to all staff for showing so much prowess while being so relaxed. 10/10
A.
Really nice location. Average coffee. Didn't have a chance to try any food.also most of the seats are high chairs which is not really nice if you want to chill out so try to get one of the few tables by the window.
L.
On the hunt for good coffee? Come here. The staff know their beans and how they taste and will help you choose a caffeine filled beverage that you will enjoy. I had a lovely filter coffee from Kenya that smelled like pineapple and peach.
The only disappointment was the bakery didn't make croissants.
E.
Great but small amount of seating.
L.
Best bread I have ever had. Food is amazing, staff helpful and friendly.
E.
Honestly their salted caramel cookie is one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten
P.
Friendly staff, good quality NZ pies and various other delicious options.
J.
Really delicious breads made available through the whole in the wall to Red Rabbit. Delicious code on sure and a selection of beans that coffee obsessives must make a regular part of their day.
D.
Lovely place for a casual coffee and a good chat with a friend or two. Be warned that the smell of fresh bread may be irresistible!
K.
Very good bakery, the staff are friendly and they have a lot of good selection of bread which tastes so good.
C.
Nice food and staff
A.
The best coffee in town, great staff, private environment. Try the salted caramel cookies, or the date scones - delicious!!
Z.
Red Rabbit brews the Best coffee in Wellington, definitally. Ask "Zoltan Special" if you would like a large soy flat white take-away. ;)
r.
Awsum coffee and food .Really love it
T.
Not the best coffee, and very skinny takeaway cup. Cookies are great though.
B.
Great coffee, very tasty mince pie
G.
Awesome coffee and a great selection of snacks from the bakery. The salted caramel cookies have to be on the 'must do' list
M.
Nice place. It has a fairly limited menu but it is tasty. You should definitely get the salted caramel cookie.
J.

E.
