R.I order Butter chicken pie and Pulled pork bacon pie
Flavor are good and pork bacon pie have rich BBQ and mayonisse flavor, quite tasty.
I also bought passion fruit doughnut which is good as well

A.The absolute best, pulled pork pies in Wanganui. Plus they have foot long donuts, with strawberry, caramel or chocolate on real cream centres and all at a good price.
K.The steak and cheese pie is very well made and the prices are affordable. The donuts could of been made to be more soft as they tend to be quite tough/ almost hard to consume. Overall the pies are very nice and excellent customer service from the ladies there.

They do amazing sponges in a few different flavours, my fav is the coffee one but my colleagues all like the passion fruit one so I have to get two! There is a pie flavour for everyone I'd say. Just get in quick, as they are popular and you may miss out on your choice of pie as they go fast!

U.Best pies in town. If you come to Whangas, you must try this lovely vintage shop, they have the most beautiful pies than I ever tried. From my personal opinion, they have one of the best pies in the whole country
M.3.5 star pies here. We were expecting 5 stars! But Really nice kind people. Gave my kids a lolly each. If you are new to pies you'd give them 4 or 5 stars. We are on a pie road trip so very high bar set by olde beach bakery.

C.About 40 years ago I use to deviate slightly on the way to school to get a raspberry special, not every day but at least a couple a week.
Back to NZ on holiday I was showing my wife around Wanganui when I saw Butcharts and decided to pop in. I don't think the place has changed in all that time. But even better my raspberry special hasn't either, although it could be bigger than it was which is weird as things tend to be smaller than what your remember them to be.
Everything else on offer is great too, especially the pies. But if you are around the area you have to try the raspberry specials
B.The pies are fresh and so yummy. I adore the plain doughnuts. The service is always friendly and you are greeted with a smile.
B.3 stars are for the food which to be fair was after lunch rush. But the counter service! Omg waited for ages bout to leave,when a women slowly came out & said YES! told me how much,to which i paid & she walked off. Shame she undone 20yrs of great service in that one visit.

B.Great price near whanganui hospital off heads road, turn left, good location near good second hand original! shops and hospice shop award winners, on the way to surf and fishing beach and wharf Morgan st and citadel bar cafe castlecliff with playground, theres even a current band named after the suburb, get the best pie in middle nz and check out the beach for a walk and entry to river.
