L.Had a really average experience here today with our food. Perhaps we chose the wrong day to come here but keep away from the vegetarian pie and bacon and egg. Average cheap ingredients are what is letting these pies down the pastry and service were good tho. Ginger slice was almost rock hard as if a few days old. Lift ya game south island bakers !
r.Amazing pies. Better pastry than the Wakefield bakery, but the filling isn’t quite as good. Pastry 11/10, filling 8/10. Best pies south of Wakefield.

J.I’m from Auckland and these pies and bakery goods are amazing!!!! My favourite bakery so far, similar to the Mill bakery in Pukekohe (Auckland)
K.Very good pies sausage rolls not so much price tad expensive was told a total price then price paid was a little higher not sure if it was intentional
P.Uncle hands down has the best pies in Canterbury. I don’t eat any other pie because it is such a disappointment in comparison. I cannot recommend the Peppered steak pie enough. 15/10

D.Has an extensive array of foods. Only negative is that there is no Gluten free food. Otherwise a definite 👍
D.I'm a truck driver, so I know my pies and these are as good as any I've tried. The steak is big chunks and tender, the pastry is light as a feather, the mushrooms are big pieces and the mutton pie is next level.
l.Stopped here on way to Hamner Springs as my son had recommended it, the pies were amazing so many to choose from, we certainly over indulged the steak and blue cheese was amazing as were the others yum yum, will be stopping on the way back also

B.Pies are really good buy the ingredients in the sausage roll is bad. Very soft and mushy, like there's no sausage meat in it just breadcrumbs.

T.I recommend going early-ish as they're clearly popular. If it says steak... It's steak: big, chunky, tender steak. Lovely pastry & quality fillings, lots of choice. The cakes are fantastic too!

K.Woodend Bakery great little bakery with an amazing selection of Pie’s pastry was amazing and pie full of meat, I had steak mushroom and cheese thought I was a bit pricy at $5.70.Staff needs to give each customer a little more time as I thought very rushed.
s.Now owned by the owners of Aorangi bakery & now have the same amazing selection of pies, the rest of the food is pretty dammed good as well. Great service as well
