Had a really average experience here today with our food. Perhaps we chose the wrong day to come here but keep away from the vegetarian pie and bacon and egg. Average cheap ingredients are what is letting these pies down the pastry and service were good tho. Ginger slice was almost rock hard as if a few days old. Lift ya game south island bakers !

Amazing pies. Better pastry than the Wakefield bakery, but the filling isn’t quite as good. Pastry 11/10, filling 8/10. Best pies south of Wakefield.

Uncle hands down has the best pies in Canterbury. I don’t eat any other pie because it is such a disappointment in comparison. I cannot recommend the Peppered steak pie enough. 15/10

Has an extensive array of foods. Only negative is that there is no Gluten free food. Otherwise a definite 👍

I'm a truck driver, so I know my pies and these are as good as any I've tried. The steak is big chunks and tender, the pastry is light as a feather, the mushrooms are big pieces and the mutton pie is next level.

Stopped here on way to Hamner Springs as my son had recommended it, the pies were amazing so many to choose from, we certainly over indulged the steak and blue cheese was amazing as were the others yum yum, will be stopping on the way back also

Delicious pies and pastries. I had the curry chicken pie which was everything I hoped it would be and the cream apple turnover, which was very hefty with real cream and lots of apple filling. Highly recommend 👌🏽
