N.Primo spot for a mop chop. Its a pretty groovy experience in here, staff seem to enjoy their job, a lot of laughing and chatting between clients and barbers. The vibe is always good there. You feel more of a personal investment with the person you go to specifically to get your hair cut rather than just rolling in. Bookings are essential as they are always humming
S.After hearing some great things about this place, I can assure you they don't disappoint. Bookings make things super easy, have never had an issue. Just turn up on time and let these guys do their thing. The barbers are some of the best in Auckland and are well skilled in the art of banter. Special mention to Chris who cuts one hell of a skin fade. Can't recommend enough!

R.I've had my hair cut at most of the 'top' barbers in Auckland. But i can hands down say Boar & Blade is the best barber I've been to.
It's a perfect blend of the overall package - Great cuts, good chats and friendly professional service. All of the lads are extremely talented at what they do. So no matter who you book in with - you can't go wrong.
The boys always go above and beyond with their service - It's just like hanging out with your mates. They will take time to understand exactly what it is you are after, grab you a coffee or a drink and have an engaging chat the entire time.
Online bookings are a game changer in the barbering industry, so zero waiting time for your barber is a huge plus too.
After jumping around so many barber shops, I've found a regular place. I would recommend Boar & Blade to everyone.
C.Moved to NZ about 6 months ago and been going to Boar & Blade ever since - Ponsonby and Wynyard are both great places. Awesome vibe and good chat - even with the other barbers who are cutting other customers hair. A+ business, can't fault anything, top lads and top service with attention to detail and high skill level. If you want to look sharp, come here - they won't disappoint.
O.Always feel welcomed and they have a great vibe in there. I get my haircut from Kirk and he always gives an amazing service not only with cut itself but he's awesome to talk to always does a professional job whilst having a few laughs as well which just adds to his awesome service.
M.I’ve been going to this barber shop for almost a year now and always had a good experience. All their barbers are very experienced.
G.Been going here for the past 2-3 years and realised I have never left a review. The place is top notch. This is the real deal, barber shop through and through. Only blokes work here (as a true barber shop should be) and each one is extremely well trained as professional barbers (not hair dressers). I have had the pleasure of calling Stitch my barber. This guy is insanely thorough and really takes bride in his work, to the extent that he has remembered my head shape (dimples and all) and knows exactly how to cut it.
Today I came into my appointment and Stitch was running 30minutes behind, instead of making me wait around and rush his appointments he suggested I come back after hours. I was happy to do so. He sorted my out after closing and was the last one left in the shop. Things like that will make me come here for life.

J.I have been going to Boar & Blade for a year now and I've never had a bad cut (I had quite a few elsewhere in Auckland when I moved from the UK)!! Hops, my barber, is awesome I'd never go elsewhere and it's always a friendly and welcoming place to go. The other barbers are a bunch of cool cats - I'd highly recommend the place especially if like me you like barbers up with the current trends. And you can now play FIFA while you wait 👌
A.Reasonably priced and great costumer service. Got pretty good advice from the barber on how to style my hair including what product to use &c. Already booked in again for next month!

S.After spending numerous hours across several weeks going down various rabbit holes in the hope of finding the best beard barbers in Auckland I had narrowed the [already narrow] field down to three options. I then spent a few hours finding and reading reviews, then reading about each barber and reviewing any images I could find of their work via their social media pages. I was looking for a traditional experience, and a barber that not only knows their craft and is passionate it.. But also one that takes it as seriously as the beardsman sitting in the chair putting their pride in your steady hands.
I nervously picked a barber and booked my appointment to see Jarryd at Boar & Blade ... Such a good decision ... Jarryd quickly put my nerves to rest as and took interest in what I was saying and wanting to achieve. He explained the best option for me and was completely dialled into what he was doing, while talking me through it along the way.
Putting your trust into someone to trim/shape/define your beard after putting months/years into growing it may be a first world problem.. But it’s a big deal kinda first world problem for a beardsman.. If you are on the hunt for a decent barbers I highly recommend chatting to the guys at Boar & Blade, and if available booking Jarryd.
