Awesome crew of barbers. The whole experience from writing your name on the chalkboard and waiting outside on wooden pews to the banter and stylie skills makes each hair cut with the Godfathers both unique and a real pleasure.

Too easy to book. On arrival Ben took the time to listen to my usual cut requirements and make suggestions. Cut was perfect, and completed with great chat and banter. I've rebooked, and would absolutely recommend (but only if you don't take my next booking spot)

Popped into the Cuba Street location on the weekend and got a great cut by Ben, total professional with good chat so the time flew by. Would recommend to anyone in the area to pop by or book online for their next cut, good value and great service.

Got a good haircut on a Sunday afternoon, $40. Place was busy, when I listened to the staff I realised why. These guys have a progressive philosophy, I loved the straight up, humorous chat between the boys and the clients. Also bought an extremely good tub of hair product. No doubt will return for another mop chop.

Very happy with my fade and cut done by Chris (I hope that's right!?). He was incredibly attentive and passionate about his work. The banter was fantastic and overall one of the best experiences I've had in a barbershop in ages! I will most definitely be back and getting the young English barber to repeat his fine work 👌

Absolutely fantastic. Chose to go here via word of mouth advertising, and was very very pleased. The atmosphere of the barbers and the environment is relaxed and casual. Each barber's space is personalised, and they will chat to you and try to actually get to know you - or work on silence if you prefer. The haircut and beard trim I received was also of incredible quality. I have never been as pleased by a haircut, and will absolutely be back. Be warned that there are more customers than barbers, and you can expect a wait. Plan for this.

After arriving, I saw a decent line of 6 ahead of me, adamant on getting a haircut today I stuck around. Glad I did. Just got my cut by Rodrigo - a great man and barber. Not only was the banter top class but he’s a phenomenal barber as well. His great attention to detail, warm personality and overall ability to make me feel comfortable in his chair was extremely appreciated. In and out in just under 2 hours and it was well worth the wait and the rate. Don’t deliberate further - great experience. Will be back before I leave Wellington.

I have absurdly curly hair and I have never seen a barber who has been mindful enough to notice that my hair does not sit like normal straight hair does, and so my historic fades have always been imperfect. I thought I would give these guys a go, and I was ecstatic to find that my barber finished off the cut, noticed that my curls were sitting a bit off, and he went back in there and polished it up! Could not recommend more highly. Will definitely return.

Been coming here for 2 years now, chris is an absolute master of cuts. Friendly environment, great vibe was great to come back after lockdown seeing the new blackboard system was a fantastic idea. Good on ya boys!

I've had Tommy cut my hair and style my beard every month for a couple of years now, and followed him over when he made the move to The Godfather from another local barber shop. I'm always made to feel so welcome when I walk in the front door, not just by Tommy, but by the whole crew. I regularly receive compliments on my hair from total strangers. His work is so amazing that I recently received a compliment on my hair a full three weeks after a cut. Unheard of. I can't imagine letting anyone else cut my hair and, as long as Tommy's around, I won't have to. What a legend.

The Godfather Barber is an exceptional spot to get your hair or beard sorted out. I have been looked after by Chris (Milky) for the past 6 months and am always super impressed with the sharp style I walk away with. Chris is also an all round awesome guy with plenty of brill chat and banter. They are a walk-in only joint, but are totally worth the wait - always! Very highly recommended!

I'm an Asian guy and been coming to Rod and his crew for a cut for the last 5 years. Never had an issue with this place and the banter has been the best (down to earth and not PC-friendly). Real friendly crew and they really listen to what you want and they definitely deliver. My go-to and will be for many cuts to come.

I travelled from the South Island just to let Chris give me a sharp cut again. Fades, scissor work, beard trim all first class. Amazingly, he gives the beard a graduated cut that allows it to grow out gracefully without looking messy. Another great performance from one of the Banter Brothers...

The attention to detail and obvious pride these guys have in their work makes this place a must for haircuts and beard trims. There was a fair wait before I got served but that's the price for quality service. On the subject of price, this was excellent value.

Though call giving the chaps a rating. The ambient is OK, the music mix eclectic, the banter at times borderline. I'm happy with the cut I received, and the guy doing it was nice enough. What I wasn't happy with was the wait of 2 hours 40. There were two staff, and 6 guys in line before me. Hmmmmm.

So this place is walk-in only. That's usually a good sign. First time I came at about 3pm on a Thursday and there was a queue of 5 before me. After watching the guys cut for like 30mins I asked the guy next to me how long he'd been waiting. He said an hour so far. So I left. I returned lunch time on a Tuesday next, same deal but I had a voucher I needed to use, so I acquiesced. I wasn't happy with my beard trim, but when it's already done, what can you do ay? I shook his hand, they were all nice enough but I felt this place was style over substance. Nice guys but wouldn't recommend. Also, Shinedown? Disturbed? All-American Rejects... Come on guys.

I took my 9 year old son here today, and Rod was amazing with him (as was Chris joking around with him). They really made him feel at ease which was amazing as normally a stressful event for him. Would certainly recommend !! Will definitely be back 😁

Beeest barber I have been to in my life. The guys there are working so accurate, passionate and dedicated that you feel really VIP. This is also fully covered by the price of 35NZD for a standard scissor cut. I been overwhelmed on the accuracy the guy cut my hair. Excellent cut by a fellow Englishman, swear his name was Chris. Best cut I've had this side of the world. I always ask for a scissor cut which he perfected. Going straight back when I need it done again .
