I've been coming here for many years now for cuts, and I've been getting my hair permed since the start of 2021 by Annie. She totally gets the vintage vibe I'm going for and is able to give my hair the structure it needs without doing any damage (as I've had with perms at other places). Always a lovely experience.

Just had my hair cut by Juanita- it was quite a mission as my hair had got quite long and I wanted a complete restyle. So thrilled with the outcome would highly recommend Aboki and Juanita.

First time customer and extremely happy with my cut and toner from John it was exactly what I was after. The head massage during my shampoo was amazing if I was a cat I would have been purring !! :)

Annie gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had! I love it! She listened carefully to what I wanted and checked with me as she went along which felt really good. Thankyou Annie!

Fine professional hairstylists. Melissa cut & styled my wayward curls with the result I'd been searching for ages! Highly recommended for your special occasion. Definitely one of the better hair salons I've gone to If you've ever experienced that feeling of NOT being listened to- Aboki will change all that

I meant to write this review over 3 months ago but the longer I've left it the more relevant it is. Debs saved my life. I had completely stained my hair green from years of dying it every unnatural colour, mostly blues, purples and pinks. I often get asked if this beautiful red/lightbrown colour is natural and it's even faded into a lighter blonde with no green! Plus my hair is still waist length and healthy. Miracle workers out of 10, 100% recommend. It's about time I rebook!!

As usual left things to the last minute and I called to book a last minute appointment and the staff were very accommodating and got me in the same day, had a fantastic hair cut with Janine, would highly recommend and will be back.

Had the fantastic Lily blow dry and curl my hair today, she did an absolutely amazing job and I felt like a million dollars when I left, so much so I have rebooked with her

Walked in mid moming on Saturday, all spaces were full but they manage to make time for a quick cut in between. Great service. Also have a fun chair for wee kids to sit in while getting their hair done.

Melissa does a great job of cutting my hair. Has done for about 20 years. Great service. Punctual. Organised booking system. She works hard to achieve the look that I want. She and the salon are very up to date.

Many hairdressers with great attitudes work here. They all seem happy and nothing you ask for is too both bother. Great hairdressers too! (Don't forget to give me a 👍🏻up)

Got my dreads cut off here thought I was going to end up bald and come out looking awesome Hannah did a sweet as job! Highly recommended

Awesome service..Lizzie was my stylist.. they recommended a makeup artist for me.too. My hair stayed in and still looked fantastic the next day.

Booked online, nice & easy to do. Very warm welcome upon arrival. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. I booked for a wash & cut my husband a beard trim the ladies also fit in a hair cut for my husband and blow dry for me. Staff were great and did a wonderful job. I was anxious to go short but faye did a great job & walked me through & I love my new cut!!thanks ladies. Highly recommend.

Great place to get your hair cut

Hannah is amazing! I came in with a absolutely horrible "balayage and root stretch" from another Nelson salon. Hannah took the time to listen to all of my concerns and to properly explain the options I had to fix my hair. Highly recommend to anyone

Prices are steeper than others...but it is worth while if one can afford it. Service with a smile and drinks (coffee or juice). AA points. Husband found it first...sneaky male...been twice. I for my foils etc done and then the kids got theirs done over the last month and bit. All times....very pleasant and we'll received and felt like royal. Very busy. We are all very satisfied. Thank you Aboki staff and owner. 😁

The best haircut I've ever had! Deborah was my stylist and she was super friendly. Definitely the best place in town to come.

Janine was fantastic! I turned up with mountains of long, thick and curly hair and wanted a short choppy bob. I couldnt be hapier with the cut. Total hair transformation. Love it. Highly reccomend.

New to Nelson and desperately needed a new stylist. After weeks of research, I decided to give Aboki a try. I was not disappointed! The stylists are fantastic, all of the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. I am very pleased with my experience and I am excited to have a wonderful and talented new stylist in Nicola.

Great buzzy hair salon, always busy. They give glorious head massages and complimentary coffee and tea. Excellent hairdressers, my lady is Juanita she's very very good.

fantastic place. fab staff. have left 'hair' happy every single time looking good n feeling great. had plenty of votes and awards for customer service level. lots of staff a good quality n busy wee salon but not so comercialised that u feel pushed through or fake interest. theres still a real genuine small salon vibe bout it. im not a super talkative person but i was talked to and acted interested in for long enough to make me feel compfy but not so long as to make me havto jump out of my own comfort zone or put on a super fake overly friendly front. all in all a great wee place that i would use as my #1 whenever in nelson. the first salon ive been happy to consider as my 1. and in 30years thats saying something. hard to please? possibly.. yet they did. 100/100

Passing through Nelson on camping trip desperate to find a salon that would cover up the emerging grey hair (😱).. and cut my hair back into shape. Aboki fitted me in there and then! Would recommend.
