I had an unexpected day off work and was able to wander in and get my hair permanent straightened here which is great because other places I would have to wait. The price was also the cheapest I had been quoted and included a trim. Service was friendly, salon had plenty of space and very pretty decorations. Amy was very nice and highly professional. Most importantly my hair looks amazing. Feels good to have finally found a good hairdresser thank you!

Amy & her awesome team took good care of my family and I - can't say enough how much I appreciated their efforts today 🙏 My wife & daughter extremely happy with the professional skill of Amy ✂️ Also just a very cool space to spend time with great vibes. Will be back to visit in a heartbeat ❤️

Cheap and really good. No fuss or frills. EDIT - I recently went here again after a couple of years and they have moved shop just up the road to a beautiful store. It just felt like a great energy and good vibe and I loved the music. I booked hair wash, cut and blow and when I got there I decided to gave my nails done too which they happily fit in. Besides the fact that they did an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING job on my hair (which nobody's done in years), they also offered advice and tips on hair, nail care and good restaurants even! I loved being there, I can easily spend a day there of pampering and listening to everyone talking. It's like the classic neighbourhood hairdresser where it's also a social thing, only with a touch of class and some mad skills. Their prices are still good as I walked out there with gel nails, a great cut, fabulous curls and a great mood all for $145. I've found my happy place!!

Service was great, quality was average. I was greeted almost immediately on entering which is always nice when you go to a new place. They were kind to me and there was a lively atmosphere. Initially I was attended by someone who didn't seem as skilled in the acrylics department. (I was getting acrylic refills with gel polish, one of my nails had fully come off so they were starting that one from scratch.) The lady who took over tho seemed much more experienced. There was a little pain but it was reasonably minimal and usually I realied the pain was there bc of a certain reason unique to me. The colour they applied wasn't exactly the colour I had chosen. I believe the number had rubbed off the swatch and they were just guessing which colour seemed most likely to be it. They did a decent job on shaping but the application could have been better as I ended up with a small piece on the new nail sticking out and there seemed to be some small bubbles that wouldn't be seen from far but could be seen closer up. Overall it's the best place I've been to in Wellington thus far, although I've only lived in Wellington for 2 years. UPDATE: The quality ended up being not great. 2 nails broke within a week or 2 which has never happened to me and I wasn't working with my hands or anything.

Great hair coloring! Fantastic results, was very happy after. Amy achieved what I wanted, always been polite, very hard working as she does a lot of services and accommodates walk ins just have to wait of course. Great price for balayage she's done my balayage 3 times now, it' really takes time and few sessions to achieve what you want and depending on your hair type. The new place is so spacious and comfy! Modern hair gadgets! Would recommend to maybe offer some refreshment for service that will take hours. Again, thank you and will surely be back again for my roots next! 😀

Had a good experience for a manicure. Staff was friendly and did a good job on cuticles, shaping, etc. I would definitely go back. Picture taken the day after my treatment. I was at a high end day spa the day after the treatment and the day spa staff commented that my manicure was very good.

Had my nails done here. They did a fab job and were very friendly, always checked that my nails were as I wanted them. Would recommend!

The BEST at cutting hair. I always walk out looking like a Pantene Pro V model, I'm not jokjng. They're wizards, I swear. I hate having anybody else cut my hair after using these hairdressers. They're always busy everytime I've been and it's for good reason!

Amys was a really good hair salon up until last year. This year they have had a new person. She was very impatient and just wanted to finish the job. I have been to this salon twice since then, had hair cuts done by Amy and Nicola. Both did a fantastic job. Will continue going here. Good luck to you all !!

Great salon and Amy is lovely. I love the colour of my hair and the cut. Very reasonably priced too. The recent negative reviews from people online have appeared because of ones person's experience they shared publicly on a facebook page, and it does not reflect the service I had today. Please do not let these bad reviews deter you from going to this lovely salon.

The Amy's lady was great. Must be a senior. Recommend her without hesitation. The same cannot be said for the girl from the Angel salon. She seems to be learning but didn't even look like she knew how to use a dryer or straightener. I had to ask more than once for the product to rinsed properly out of my hair. In past I would've said nothing but I'm over hairdressers that don't do a great job. Again, the Amy's lady was awesome but this girl kind of wrecked what was supposed to a fun morning.

Got a gel manicure, it was really good, nice service and they did a very thorough job (paid attention to the cuticles which some places forget about) for the price you really can't go wrong! My only. comment is they could go further up the nail with the polish (there is a 1-2mm gap up the top which will mean that the nails will grow out faster)

Went in today for a Deep Treatment and cut and so happy I did! Beautiful little busy salon, with friendly staff. My hair is so soft and feels amazing. Thanks again Amy and team x

Went in with treat me voucher from my family, for my 50th. And Amy did a beautiful job, friendly ladies, I was treated like a queen, and my thick old dry hair now feels amazing, love the colour.

Amazing, have been going back for years now. My hair is difficult to straighten, and I had been to multiple places, paid very high prices and ended up with a variety of disasters. Amy's not only got it right, but are incredibility reasonably priced as well. Thanks guys, love your work.

I got a gel Manicure here and the ladies were friendly and professional. They were thorough with the manicure and the polish still looks great 2 weeks later even after changing the brake pads on my car!

I've been here multiple times for nails and as they are lower priced I expect what I pay for. However when I switched to SNS nails the last two times I went I have been disappointed with the quality of the work, it having left bubbles/ lumps in my nails. The last time I went however the woman who was doing my nails seemed like she didn't know how to do sns and nicked me several times with the spinny thing (presumably un- sanitized). I believe her name was Linda. I made a booking but didn't start getting my nails done until I had waited for half an hour. Didn't want to make a fuss so after she finished I paid and left. Acrylic nails seem to be fine though and normal/gel nails. Just be warned about SNS at Amy's.

I've been going here for over nearly 14 years since a child with my other childhood friends and family. I really like price, service. Going back soon actually... Noticed a lot of unnecessary childish hate on their pages due to some Facebook slander and bullying. People are so quick to jump to one side of the story, judge and involve ourselves in things that have nothing to do with them. We are all humans, none of us are perfect. This young lady should have gone and dealt with this issue she had professionally instead of getting a gang on poor Amy.

I can't remember how I heard of Amy's but I'm so glad I did. I always go there now and get my hair done by Mel. Two of my friends have started going too. This is a good value place in a great location and I'm always happy with my hair which is a rare thing.

I had a keratin treatment, cut, style and straighten courtesy of a grab one voucher and couldn't fault the service. I have hair that is very thick and frizzy and hard to manage/style and have never walked out of a salon as happy with the result as I did today.

Came in for a last minute nail appointment (gel). I had to ask the technician to clean the tools and she didn't look very stoked about it. She didn't remove the previous colour properly, did a token job on my cuticles, and as a result, the new colour and finish is really rough around the edges with old colour showing. I wouldn't return here and wouldn't recommend this salon for nails.

Friendly and professional service. I love getting hair ups for my dance performances at Amy’s. Their nail services are also amazing. Highly recommend.

Nails look great but the technician was a bit rough. Nails bled a bit and she buffed my skin area when doing my nails. Could be more gentle and precise.

Great! But didn't like it when the staff had a conversation while i paid; didnt speak in english and when i asked them what they said i felt very comfortable when they didnt answer. Very impressed with the young lady would did my daughter's nails. Very professional ☆

Best experience ever I was booked in with Nicola to get my hair chemically straighten last Friday but someone else took over forgot to ask for her name but she did such an awesome job and it was my first time as well so I was quite hesitant but at the end it was worth it thanks heaps definitely go back again :)

Popped in for a fringe trim, being an out of towner, I wasn't sure what to expect. Amy hooked me up, did an awesome job and didn't charge me anything! Way to go Amy and way to go Wellington!

I go here a good bit. You get what Ye pay for and the girls are bubbly and fun. They always try to fit you in somewhere even if it’s going to be a bit tight for time.

I always go to Amy's.They are very professional and efficient and excellent time management skills even when they are very busy and very affordable pricing. I definitely recommend.
