Went for a hair cut with Juanita for the first time. I had seen glowing reviews about her skill with cutting thick hair like mine, so I had to make an appointment right away! From the moment I arrived at Black Pearl & Co, she was so lovely. She took care to listen to what I wanted, and gave me so much great advice. It was clear to me how much she cares about her clients and her work. All in all, such a wonderful experience, and I can't wait to go back for my next appointment with her!

Juanita is my new hair stylist and I can't recommend her enough! I discovered her just before Christmas and have followed her to Black Pearl. Right from the start I felt really comfortable with her. She's very capable and professional, listens to what you want, can quickly see what suits your hair (and facial type), and cuts hair beautifully. She also has a lovely manner, calm and assured, and I always leave the salon feeling I've had a really enjoyable experience as well as a great haircut! Juanita is a treasure!

I am so impressed! It was my first time going to Black Pearl and Co. and it was the best haircut I have had in years. I had Juanita as my hairdresser and I can't praise her enough. She provided the best experience with her expert advice, styling and care treatment. She went above and beyond. I cannot recommend enough. Can't wait to go back.

Juanita is an amazing member of the team and I wouldn't go to anyone else. She is professional, thorough, trustworthy, and always willing to do her absolute best to ensure her job meets the expectations of the client. My mother is very particular about getting her hair cut and she is was extremely happy with Juanita's work as well. As long as Juanita is at Black Pearl & co my and my mother will continue to be customers here.

I was looking for Juanita from one salon to another just because I read the encouraging comments of her clients .. and she didn’t really disappoint me .. I can't thank Juanita in Black Pearl & Co enough for the main color correction and chic haircut. She saved my damaged looks and made me feel myself again. Her work is amazing and she is a funny and wonderful soul, and I am very happy and honored to call her my friend. Strongly recommend her😊

Ange at Black Pearl has been cutting my hair for years- she is really talented and very experienced and always gives me a great haircut. She’s really good at judging what suits a face, head shape and person as a whole. She’s also happy to do what I want, although usually we discuss and come up with a plan for the cut together. The Black Pearl salon is bright, airy and spacious with a good atmosphere. I highly recommend Ange and Black Pearl.

Love this salon so roomy, light and clean. Staff are super friendly and you can tell they are a group of fantastic stylists. I personal get my hair done by Laura. She consistently does a fabulous colour and cut. Love the way my hair sits everyday. That to my is how I gauge a great cut, not just looking amazing when you leave but being able to look amazing daily. Highly recommend her to anyone

Thank god for Juanita at Black Pearl and Co! I made a last minute booking to try and fix my badly done highlighted hair that was yellow/orange and a complete mess. Juanita shuffled some appointments around to fit me in and I’m so glad she did! Gone are the brassy tones and I’m left now with what I originally wanted, and hair that isn’t completely damaged. She took her time to understand what I needed and what the end result was and worked with me for a beautiful result. Thanks so much!! ☺️

Awesome salon! I had my hair done by Laura and I couldn’t be happier with my colour and cut! I absolutely love it - I have blonde hair and am pretty particular with my colour - she was amazing and made me feel at ease throughout the whole service! The team at Black Pearl is fab and the salon is comfortable and spacious - I can’t wait to come back it’s the best!

I have been going to Juanita since I got to NZ and I won’t be going anywhere else until I leave. She does a great job with short hair and really cares about what you want. She’ll cut to your hair type, be honest with you about what does and doesn’t look good, and really listen to you. I’m extremely picky about my hair and can not recommend her more.

I absolutely recommend Juanita for speciality colours and creamy blondes! She's warm and professional, knowledgable of products and hair care, detail oriented, and has a very contemporary approach to hairdressing. Great location and trendy interior, attentive and lovely staff...need I say more?!

Having shopped around recently in Wellington, Black Pearl is my pick of the bunch in the central city! It's clean, light and spacious. You don't feel rushed or squeezed into the space. The coffee is great, oh, and I get lots of compliments on my HAIR DO & colour, thanks to the wonderful Laura. Recommend.

Laura is my hairdresser and she is the best! She's fashion forward while still thinking about what colour, cut and styling will work best for my face, hair and lifestyle. I spent 20 years looking for a hairdresser as good and as fun as she is and I hit the jackpot!

Jaunita is a great member of the Black Pearl team. She is so lovely and is always able to help me acheieve the blonde colour that I am wanting. Would highly recommend as i love my hair

OH MY GOD! JUANITA IS A GOD I will say, Black Pearl & Co vibes is incredible. However, this is a review on Juanita. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing she is. Don't believe me LOOK AT WHAT SHE DID TO MY HAIR!! I was a dark brunette and I walked out Khloe Kardashian short and blonde vibes! She was incredibly patient (I was in the Salon for 6 hours) But it didn't feel that long, shes engaging and she takes so much pride in her work. I gave her a challenge and she won the battle. If you ever want to walk out of a store with a desired outcome - you'll get it with her. Master stylist, second to none colorist - I trust her with my life and for as long as I live I will sing her praise. I will go to no one else. She is stuck with me for life. I have had non stop compliments and jaw dropping reactions from an insane dramatic change shes the reason for it.

best place i've ever gotten my hair done! the staff were very nice and laura made my hair go from 1/10 to 11/10, good price too. 100% recommend

You’ll definitely find me coming back. The staff were were extremely polite. Very friendly. My daughter said “you look so beautiful” and it almost made me cry. I will definitely tell my friends and family about you guys!

It was scary for me to try a new place for the first time because I have been so scarred from recent and past experiences but Shane listened to every word I said about what I wanted and what I needed and I have never been so happy with an outcome. 10/10 will return.
