I love visiting here. The staff is so lovely and always have great recommendations on how to get the best from my hair. They also give the most relaxing hair washes.

First went here after a previous hairdresser coloured my hair patchy half black and half blonde (a nightmare). Casey fixed my hair perfectly to my medium brown natural colour in just one session! Have been going here regularly ever since and always leave so happy, they suit your hair so naturally to you and take care in their work, not just getting a job done and out the way and you can really tell!

I love coming here. I've had past experience of hairdressers struggling with my curly hair, but never at John St. Taylor and Casey always take such good care of me and I leave feeling a million bucks everytime. I also really appreciate that there's no pushing of expensive products (just genuine advice when you need it). I get the impression Kathy takes very good care of her staff, and it shows in the warmth of the salon. Thanks team

I’ve done my balayage with Zara! Highly recommended! She was extremely professional and had great hospitality! I felt welcomed all the time. She was multitasking having a busy time. Thank you very much for your wonderful job! I will come back!!

I am so happy that my friend recommended this place to me! I called on a whim to see if I could get an appointment- it was a Sunday morning and I didn't in the slightest think I would get one however I was lucky enough to get a space with the lovely Casey! I had bleach blonde hair and went in saying I wanted to have a more natural blonde and a more honey tone. Well Casey worked her magic and did an incredible job, the colour exceeded my expectations and I was so happy with what she did!! I have now booked her in advance as she will be my go to stylist! I can't wait to become part of theJohn St hair whanau! Thank you so much Casey!

Taylor is the best! I actually had hairdresser aversion until I was lucky enough to get Taylor randomly assigned to deal with my troublesome hair. Every time I leave the salon I feel like I'm at least 10 years younger and 100% more confident. Before going to a hair salon was like playing Russian roulette. I could go years without daring to give it another shot. Now it feels risk free. So happy! But also so sorry now Taylor is going on maternity leave 😟 Happy for her though 😄

I visited this salon for the first time today and they did a wonderful job of my hair. Not only did they comply with what I wanted done with my hair, they made good conversation and all seemed very highly skilled in their trade. I'm very happy. Would go here again :)

I had my hair done here about a year ago to fix a disaster from another salon. And I have never looked back. My hair is always in top top shape now. Their knowledge and attention to detail in unparalleled! Go go go!

Great place to take a toddler. Staff were friendly and experienced with our 17 month old. They made good suggestions based on his hair type and took care to avoid cutting while he squirmed.

I never usually make the effort to write reviews but I had to give my thanks and praise to Samantha who offered me exactly what I needed when I wasn't too sure myself. A few subtle t-tone highlights to lift and top up my re-growth worked wonders followed by a lovely modern cut and blow dry to finish. Thank you! The only thing I want to add is that when I first came in no one greeted me and I was told to just "sit down." Could be a little friendlier with the greeting. Other than that, a lovely experience!

Popped in to see if I could book an appointment and even though they were busy, I was able to get in that afternoon. Didn’t get the name of my stylist but she did a great job, was efficient and friendly. There was a lovely vibe in the place too.

The whole team was super nice, inviting and chatty. I felt so welcome. They worked really efficiently as a team and listened to what I was after and did a fab job. Totally recommended!
