Reviews of Arrowtown Bike Hire

We turned up without booking in the afternoon, and man there (sorry didn’t get your name) was so lovely and helpful. Went to get us some e-bikes, sorted us with the right size and helmets. Gave us a run through on how to use them and told us routes to take.
We ended up biking to Gibbston Winery- 16km each way and had a lovely wine tasting in the sun before returning back.
Bikes ran smoothly and highly recommend the e-bike option unless you’re quite a seasoned rider, there’s a few hills involved.
We had a great time enjoying the scenery along the river and into vineyard country in the sun.
Highly recommend! Next time we would love to prebook and cycle back to Queenstown. Thanks for the great avo out ABH!

Friendly, personal service. It’s good to book ahead as you can request the right type and size of bike. And it’s in a lovely Arrowtown lane so it’s perfect to head to the shops or cafe at the end. We rented eBikes which made a big difference and we covered more of the trails out to Gibbston and back around Lake Hayes.

Third time using these guys, the owner and staff are always super helpful and friendly (and offer a shuttle pick up from Gibbston winery if you’ve had a few too many or can’t be arsed biking back like me). Bikes in great nick, everything is excellent - highly recommend!

Excellent service, great bikes. Careful briefing to ensure we would be safe on the bikes. Recommended. I will use this bike hire again.

Lovely guy running this boutique bike rental. Cost effective it super quality service and bikes. Helped us suss our own personalised (self directed) tour of Lake Hayes and the nearby wineries. We were fitted with two comfortable quality mountain bikes which were a charm to ride on, and easy up and down hills. RE lake Hayes route, Easy to do in half a day, but take a whole day if your keen for a cheeky dip in the lake I between cycling and wine tasting. Deffs check out this rental option if you rather a wine tour or cycle experience at your own pace.

Great service and value. Bikes are great quality unlike many hire places you experience. Don’t bother with a guided tour as these guys will give you all you need to explore yourself👍🏻 We did the 30km river and Lake Hayes ride.

we found this bike hire store on google. We were staying in lower shotover for a few days and decided to try biking around here to explore the place. Had an amazing ride all the way to Kawarau gorge. beautiful and fun! the staff were very friendly and patient explaining to us about the route. 1 thing that i thought was a little understated is the difficulty of the tracks. We were told the terrain is level and not much of the slopes. I did not quite agree with that as we had 2 adult bikes and 1 tag along and 1 child's bike, midway after going thru about at least 10 upslopes, i gave up and rode 1 of the bike back to the store to exchange for an ebike to handle the tag along all the way to the gorge. Definitely not a flat route. There were many slopes along the way and some are steep 60 degrees kind. The ebike is much much better if you have a tag along..clearly the way to go. We took about 7 hours to cover the 26km trail (1 hour lunch included) we were the last to return the bikes. :) it was a very fun experience though tiring. Liam and the girl at the shop did the swop for me without any issue and i am grateful to them for allowing that. highly recommended!

Nice Ebikes for all ages, I would recommend the trail to the Gibson Tavern. 1.5hrs, 20km on an ebike.

Fantastic ride to Gibson winery beautiful scenery captures NZ at it's best. The e bike is the way to go to enjoy the trail there and back

Had a great day riding bikes. The bikes are new and really well maintained. Great advice on where to ride from the team. Also have pick up service which we used after a trip to the winery. The river ride with all the bridge crossings was ideal for a family with two small kids. Definitely recommend Arrowtown Bikes...
