It was awesomeness. I really appreciate the Chance to this a second time as I came off my bike the first day. Still licking my wounds. Very proud we made it from Queenstown to Arrowtown via Lake Hayes for a well deserved break and swim. What a breathtaking vista it's wonderful. Once we arrived at Arrowtown we went Provisions and had a delicious after noon tea scones butter and chutney. Also delightful smoothies to replenish and kool off. Kobe well done. My right side was aching as I fell quite hard. Tummy muscles also but am ready glad I pushed through to accomplish our goal. We also stopped at the Arrowtown Bakery well known for its delicious pies and the Remarkable sweet shop for a selection of their adorable fudge. We called Better by Bike to pick us up. They were very efficient Meg arrived in 30mins. We were lying under the trees eating apricots. Thankyou to Aimee who was incredibly helpful when we returned the first day because I was so excited came off my bike and she dressed my wounds and allowed us to rest up and come back. Customer service was simply outstanding. A credit to Better by Bikes.🌺🧘‍♀️

Highly, highly recommend. This has been the highlight of our family's trip (ages 8-48). The tracks were easy to ride and the scenery incredible. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Bikes were top quality. We did Arrowtown to Gibbston Tavern which was probably the limit for our younger two. We then got the shuttle back to Arrowtown after a well-deserved pizza lunch. The staff asked us to mention to friends - don't worry, we'll be shouting it from rooftops - you must do this!

Thoroughly enjoyed our bike hire experience with Better By Bike... a must do! Such a beautiful ride... We rode to the Gibston Tavern and refuelled, then got picked up with our bikes and taken back to Arrowtown... such a great option. Friendly and helpful staff.

Rented two e bikes and rode out to Gibston Tavern on the teams recommendation. Such a beautiful ride and our bikes were fantastic. The team are very helpful at making sure you have the right size bike and know where you're going. One of the best things we did in Queenstown.

A bit expensive when we only wanted the bikes for a couple of hours - had to hire them for the whole day . $220 for 2 e-bikes! The bikes were good, apart from the chain coming off a few times. I’d recommend trying somewhere else if you don’t need the bikes all day. The bikes also seemed to be limited to 30km/hour - no power assist above that.

We hired bikes for our work Christmas function. They made the whole process easy from booking through to returning the bikes. The bikes were amazingly easy to use and we had a wonderful day. It was drizzling rain and we were having so much fun we didn't even really notice! Thanks team!

Good quality bikes and friendly staff! The Hilton location is perfect if you are staying there. Just a short walk from your room and you can hire the bikes straight away and take off down the Queenstown trail. Or jump on a water taxi from town and you pull up literally right outside the shop door. We did a walk in hire of 2 bikes for half a day. They had plenty of bikes and the e-bikes are excellent quality (Moustache). We will definitely use them again when we return to Queenstown.

Had a wonderful experience yesterday. No prior booking, just walked up and minutes later had a mountain bike ready to go. Quick, friendly and efficient service, thank you! We heard on return that you might be getting rid of your regular mountain bikes in favour of e-bikes. Please keep a couple of mountain bikes for us next time as we much prefer the real thing rather than e-bikes! :)

We had one of the best bike rides of our lives. Better by Bikes has one of the most amazing bike brands and I’m a big fan of it. Super clean and new specialized bikes and e-bikes. We hired our e-bikes for half day and we rode the Queenstown trail until the Bungy Jump and back total of 32km and still had half battery, both bikes were brand new and pristine. Want to do the trail go by this shop and hire an e-bike, some parts of the trails will require a lot of your fitness. We enjoyed it heaps.

Awesome service just hired 4 x ebikes for a full day, one of our friends didn't feel confident on the bike due to lack of experience 😢 and didn't want to carry on !! So they went back and called it a day 🤔 but we got a full refund on them 2 bikes 🚲 now thats service for you. Me and the wife carried on to the tavern 🍺 🤣 and loved the ride Turbo power lol 😆 thanks guys your service is outstanding and highly recommend you to everyone. Look forward to our next bike ride again very soon lol the mad pom.

Hired 2 e-bikes and a tow seat for our 4 yo toddler today. Despite being busy, Charlotte was great - got us geared up and was fantastic with advice for the bikes we hired and knowledge of the trails. Second time hiring from Better By Bikes, no doubt we'll be back again in future.

We had an enjoyable day. Charlotte was terrific in getting us five set up and instructed on our e-bikes. Also showing us the best trail to take, maps are not supplied. The bikes were set up for us, clean, fully charged, and helmets were also clean and new. We had a lovely experience till one of our bikes started having issues on our return, the chain kept falling off. My husband experienced with bikes did his best to assist. Each time an adjustment was made, we would ride 50-100 meters, and the issue would start again. We thought we would persevere till we made it back to the bike depot. It wasn't very pleasant, but we did not want to allow this to effect such a lovely day. The last km our rider with the bike issue had had enough, so he walked his bike. Upon arrival, we were all greeted, and our bikes/helmets were whisked away, and we were asked about our day. My husband showed the manager the bike with the issue and explained what was happening; the reply was the bike would be sent off to get fixed as it seemed to be a gear issue. Our rider with the problems asked the manager if there was any compensation for a faulty bike. The reply was 'no', we were told that we were to call the business and come to assist if we had issues. We were not told that if you have a faulty bike and you don't ask for assistance, you will not receive any refund, or anything else. In what other business, do you not receive at least 'I'm sorry you had that issue', or 'it is unusual for this to happen with our product' or 'on your next visit we would like to offer you a 10% discount'.....just some sort of acknowledgement. It was nothing but a blank wall. The manager did offer this rider a bottle of water, and this was accepted. He then offered the rest of us water, two others in our group said yes....strangely the water was not forthcoming. The manager then stated the bottle was given to the rider with the issue. It was weird, were they meant to share a bottle? It is such a shame that our experience finished off this way. My advice to the business is to clearly state to all users that if you do not take up assistance with any issues or you have a faulty bike, you will not be refunded or compensated in any way. Four of us are Queenstown residents and small business operators. We agreed it is the first was time we have come across this attitude locally. I don't want to focus on this poorly handled customer service example as we had a wonderful day. We also feel overall; this is a great little business.

Amazing experience with Better by Bike. Super friendly staff who gave great advice on routes, great high quality bikes, and amazing shuttle service which can collect you if you end up too far to cycle back to Arrowtown - perfect for those less expert cyclists who enjoy a wine or three at the end of a cycle! We have just finished hiring bikes for 2 days from Better by Bike in Arrowrown. The most amazing service going above and beyond. Great fleet of modern specialized bikes, including e-bikes, Mt bikes and cruisers. Two awesome days out riding the wineries and lake hayes loop. Get given detailed maps and they also offer a fantastic shuttle service so you can ride one way, enjoy the wineries and get the shuttle home. Highly recommend and you wont be disappointed. We will be back to do it all again. Thanks heaps and keep up the great work.

Highly recommend! It’s such a fun day out and a great way to see an incredible part of our beautiful country. The team at Better By Bike are super accommodating and lovely to deal with. I’ve hired bikes from them twice now and they were great both times. I’d definitely recommend getting an E Bike, makes the day more fun & these guys have really nice ones!

Great trail and good bikes but the customer service wasn’t great. Didn’t realise half day was 9-1pm we got there at 10am and couldn’t do 10-2pm as that means he couldn’t hire to the next session, but there wasn’t another tourist in sight and at least 50 bikes in the shop. Got back at 1pm and the shop was closed with a note just to leave them, so clearly no one else was waiting. Better customer service needed.

We had a fantastic day today doing a winery tour by e-bikes hired from Better by Bikes in Arrowtown. Nicki was fantastic greeting us, getting us set up with our bikes and seeing us on our way. Matt was excellent at the end of the day picking us up and returning us to Arrowtown. Excellent bikes, amazing scenery, good wine and food to match and great company. Highly recommend and we will be back.

We had an excellent time with this bike rental. Their bikes are brand new every start of the season and the mountain bikes were awesome. The seats were a little hard but that's part of the biking experience. Haha. The staff were attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. They gave us good suggestions about the biking trails and wineries to visit. A must do while in the region. You can also pay 20 bucks for them to pick you up anywhere along the trail. Great service, great rentals. I'll definitely recommend this place.

Great bikes, Great trails, Great team! Went on the self guide 5 Bridges Trail to Gibbston valley including stops at a number of wineries. First time on an e-bike made the trail very enjoyable. You can race it out on turbo boost or go at a leisurely pace on tour mode. Best kind of cycling I've ever done! Visited a number of hidden spots on route recommended by the staff. They also include a pickup back to Arrowtown if you are short on time or feeling lazy. 100% recommend.

We hired 3 electric bikes and one tow along (for miss 6) on 3/10/18. We biked from Arrowtown to Gibbston, and back again, stopping at 5 vineyards. We biked a total of 47kms in total and had a brilliant day. The weather was fantastic, the vineyards and staff were so friendly. We totally recommend this company. They offer a pick up service if required. The bike pickup, training and support was excellent, the staff were so caring and friendly. 10/10.

Fantastic service, friendly staff and great bikes. Hired bikes for a half day and cycled the Five Bridges route and electric bikes and cycled to Queenstown and back. Loved both routes. The electric mountain bikes were so much fun, especially on the hills.

My partner and I did the bridges trail on ebikes from Better By Bike while visiting Queenstown. The staff were very helpful, informative and considerate. The ride was great fun and I'd thoroughly recommend doing it on an ebike. Having cycled a bit in Australia, I wasn't quite expecting how cold it would be initially. It was very pleasant after you warmed up a bit though

My day out on the bikes was incredible. This truly is the best way to explore the scenery in the area. I took an Ebike which absolutely made my day, the wind in my hair and a big smile on my face. The Ebike really made it so much more fun as I didn't have to sweat up a storm on the uphills, instead I cruised my way up with my eyes on the horizon taking in the views. The crew who work here are awesome locals who went the extra mile to make sure I was set up with the correct bike and comfortable before I set off on my full day bike hire. They have bikes suitable for everyone, mountain bikes, cruisers, ebikes and bikes for the kids so get your family and friends together and book in. 10/10 would do again.
