I bought a Hikobike Ascent from 99 Bikes online with a pick from the Takapuna shop, The was not so one sourced from CHCH it took a while for the bike arrive and when it did the battey was missing, but the issue was sorted overnight and thanks to Leyton and Ben I was able to collect the bike and take home with to Whangarei. Very ,very pleased with the Bike so far. Thanks

We bought our baby's first bicycle from Jared today. We cannot praise Jared, the manager, enough. The granddad originally visited this shop with the grandson last week to see if there's anything suitable. There was no solid intention to purchase. However, that interaction with Jared encouraged us to buy our little boy a bike. Jared took the time to answer granddad's questions, allowed the little one to cycle around the shop and get a feel of the bike without pushing for a hard sell. That friendly professionalism really impressed the granddad. A day or two later, we returned to buy that bicycle. 99 Bikes Takapuna needs to give Jared a raise. His customer service is impeccable.

It was my first time at any bike store, and I was greeted by a young man named Leyton. He was knowledgeable, approachable and very friendly. He knew where to guide me and asked the right questions, which helped me easily select my first mountain bike. The experience was even better when I found Easter eggs lying around the store! They were subtle, small Easter eggs until not long I began to find even more and more of them. It was one of the highlights of my day, and definitely being able to get the right size, right colour and right bike at the right time with great customer service just made it even better. Thank you for being around, wouldn't have been easier!

Purchased a Frey M600 electric mountain bike from 99Bikes Takapuna, dealt with Leyton. Found the customer service to be exceptional in every way. Such an easy experience. Great advice on what was appropriate for my needs. Also very pleased with the value of the Frey M600. From my view the engineering quality and set up is perfect for general NZ trail riding. May not be ideal for serious mountain biking but that is not my interest. Will reserve judgment on reliability of the Frey until I have completed some multi day trail rides, but for now I am very happy with both the bike and “99 Bikes, Takapuna”.

I purchased 2 bikes on the weekend, 1 for my brother and the other for my sister in law. I spoke with Jared over the phone and he had both bikes in stock and built up ready to go, and while 1 of the 2 bikes I had originally wanted to buy sold 10mins prior to me arriving at the shop he went out of his way to help me select 2 different bikes for my brother and his wife. I ended up purchasing a GT aggressor and a Norco storm and the brother and his wife are so pleased with their new bikes! Just as I was with the level of service provided by Jared

Service was very good, we arrived in store and we were immediatley greeted. We were asked what we were looking for and were led directly to what we were after. The representative then checked pricing and alternatives on the computer without asking us. He promptly he came back to advise us there was only one model in store and gave us the price (club and standard) He suggested if we were requiring something different he would order it in for us. However I had been online prior and knew exactly what I was looking for. It was good to know that online stock matched instore, with product and quantity. Personal preference for me is. I would of liked a little more time in store to browse before being asked if I needed assistance but it all worked out well and as a result I was leaving with what I needed in less than 10 minutes.

I recently had a GRX lever failure and Ben in the workshop and Danny in the front of the store went out of their way to ensure my lever got sent away and got the warranty part back to me asap. I was extremely impressed with the service. Among stiff competition on Barry’s point road 99Bikes will always be my go store store! The flash frontage of other stores can only get you so far, service is always the real measure! You guys went out of your way thank you!

Bought brake pads online, very cheap... I turned up same day to collect on my ride home. Mechanic was very friendly and let me borrow their tools to install my new pads. All good!

I am new to bike, and need a commuter bike for 1 hour daily travels, so I really want a bike that suits me. Lucky, I met Pavle who is very kind, patience and understanding. I just want Pavle to know that I am so grateful for his help and service. I probably spent 2 hours in store with him, during that time, I asked endless questions and test one bike after another. He is very knowledgeable on bike brands, types, bike structures and gears. I learnt a lot of bike knowledge from him. He also handled each bike super gently, I am very impressed by his work attitude. At the end of the day, I bought a great bike on a nice price (I was on a budget, and every penny counts, so THANK YOU!!) He also helped me install a rack and a kickstand : ), will definitely recommend all my friends to 99 bikes. : )

Great service, when no other bike shop would help! I had a simple problem with my MTB disc brakes. I called three bike shops in AKL to see if they could help. When they heard that my brakes are an expensive niche brand, they all baulked. When I called 99 Bikes, the answer was the opposite: 'Sure, just drop it around'. Wow. The brakes were fixed fast, inexpensively and the mechanic was super friendly too. What great service. A big 'thank you' to Ben at 99 Bikes Takapuna. I will definitely go there again.

Ollie is your man. He knows all the ins and outs and serious mountain biker as well. Super pleased with my wife's bike and things she needed. Told Ollie our criteria and he did the rest. Also a no pressure sale. Definitely worth the drive from Howick to Takapuna, which we did based on phone interactions with Ollie prior to purchase.

Although I was disappointed that a 16 month old bike would have a part so flimsy and breakable, the repair by Bea at Barry’s Point Rd was quick, economical and explained clearly. She’s a huge asset to 99 Bikes!

Took a bike that was not purchased through them for a check over and to adjust the brakes. The service was excellent and prompt with no judging that we had purchased a cheap e-bike from TradeMe. The things that they picked up has reinforced the fact that if you want an e-bike please buy one from someone that knows what the hell they are doing! We only purchased this bike for our niece so she could ride with us but suspect it could of been very dangerous for her if the team at 99 Bikes hadn't sorted this! Purchased a Thule Platform Bike Rack. Very happy with my customer experience. The model I wanted was not in stock at Takapuna so staff organised to transfer in. Was contacted once available. Picked up today - level 3 lockdown in place so contactless at store entrance. Staff there very friendly and helpful - including putting the item in my car boot.

We had been going to another place closer to home for bike servicing and they were shut so drove to Takapuna and heard negative stuff about some on Barry’s Pt Road but nothing about 99 Bikes so gave them a go. The Saturday morning team were friendly and welcoming and serviced one of our kids bikes for a great price and it was ready when they said it would be and actually did exactly what we asked. Very very happy with 99 Bikes Takapuna and recommend them to all our friends and family. I am not the sort of person that writes any type of reviews but the service was outstanding. They are our go to guys now. We even recommended friends in Chch try them down there. Well done.

Upgraded my son's entry level hard-tail to a Marin Dual suspension and took advantage of the Takapuna store's relocation sale. Phoned the store in advance with regard to availability and Danny was really helpful in guiding us in the right direction and then reserved the bike for us. When we went to pick up the bike it was all set up for Lucas, and Danny was great in giving my son the advice he needed in taking care of it. He sorted us an appropriate full-face helmet and his colleague George set Lucas up with some goggles. These guys couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and professional. Thanks a lot! I went in to get a 29 Minion DHR tyre and they were the only place I could find that actually had them in stock so already a win there. I hadn't been here since it was bike barn and I had no expectations. The team sold me on the club membership which was $5 but I got a $20 discount on my tyre so that evened out pretty quick. Before we left we saw a Norco balance bike with a rear brake which we thought would be awesome for our little one on the pump track, so we left with that and saved another $100 with the club discount. I would consider changing my bike from a Trek (from Evo cycles) to a Norco, just waiting to see the Norco Shore in the flesh. Cheers Team!

We have 3 children so we're here often. Normally we get good service and advice, and if it's really straightforward, they won't always take your money (like a quick fix of the bike).
