I had such a pleasant experience with the young man that loved anime. I don’t review often so I wanted to write! He was very understanding that I couldn’t afford a luxury bike being a slightly over minimum wage retail assistant in the middle of Auckland, so he went out of his way to make a great offer with a secondhand one. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic service, thank you!

Very Nice friendly and helpful staff and good bikes. But as far as accessories go, most products can be found online (The exact same ones) for about 20% less. This business seems to work very well with sales. Sadly it seems they no longer need new business and customers. The only phone you will find on their website are mobile phones. Good luck trying to get hold of the Newmarket branch as the manager NEVER ever answer his phone (Other people have tried more than 40 times over the past few weeks) and the answering message just says: "Hi, this is Chris from Bikes & Beyond. Do not leave a message..." I imagine they are loosing thousands of $ each day with this practice....

My Stepdad bought me a folding ebike for my birthday this year from their New Market shop. The staff is very patient and helpful. I am very happy with my new bike. Thank you Chris and your teammates : )

I've been here a couple of times now and each time I've had delightful customer service and my bike's problem's fixed at a great price. Can take a few days to be completed, but I know it's going to be a job well done. Great stuff :). Thanks again,

I bought my first ebike in NewMarket , and all I can tell is that I had the best experience with all the staff and support I receive from them . They helped me with all my doubts and received a very personal attention . I’m extremely happy with my bike and the support I had from all the staff , including also the manager and owner. I have been back with other doubts of functionality, and they have always receive me very well . I will extremely recommend people to buy in this shop , :)

Great team especially Kenny whose attention to detail is outstanding. He's intuitive about the needs of his clients and was very helpful in setting up my e-bike for me. Kenny really cares about the needs of his clients and has a good knowledge base to call on and was able to answer any questions we had. We're very happy with our bikes. I have been a regular customer of Bikes and Barbers since 2017 and know the owners well. I have had insurance repairs, services and even purchased a new bike from them, and so my review is not based on a one-off interaction. I thoroughly recommend them to you. The negative reviews below really surprise me. From my experience, Darleen and Christian are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and humble. My services have always been completed promptly and at a fair price. I have always easily been able to get in contact with someone directly using their business mobile phone listed. If you are looking for all round excellent bike mechanics, look no further.

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Was dealing with Kenny - he was very helpful when suggesting bikes for what I wanted to use it for. Ended up purchasing a bike that was cheaper than what I was expecting to pay. Thank you for not taking advantage of someone who didn't know a lot about e-bikes!

Really lovely people but I'd go somewhere else for bike service after personal experience.. that was over a year ago though. Maybe now things improved? When I first got my bike, the first day I had a flat tyre. I took it back and it got patched and I was told it got cleaned as well, which is bizarre for a new bike to need cleaning? They could've offered to replace the bike for me since it seems to have been used, but no, and I didn't know better. Anyway, I didn't think much of it, but a month later I got another flat one, took it to them and paid to get it fixed, only to have another one a week later, fixed, then flat again the very next day, and I was told it's just bad luck. I thought to myself let me try getting it fixed somewhere else to see if it's bad luck or if it's the mechanics not doing a proper job, so I went to Evo Cycles and they fixed it for me while I waited, and showed me that the lining in the tyre was worn out so they fixed that for me, and I never had another flat tyre since, and it's been 2 years.. I hope Bikes and Barbers can fix flat tires now 😊 Another issue that was not fair was that I didn't get my third free service. When I went for the third free service I was told that I had three services already, apparently when I took my bike for flat tyre repair they counted it as a service or maybe did a service without my needing or requesting it? Not sure, but the mechanic wouldn't budge and I didn't want to argue too much. It's unfortunate that lovely Darlene wasn't there or I'm sure she would've set the record straight. Anyway, this is history now for me. I still love you guys, and you have the coolest bikes, just don't think I'd buy another bike from you again...

Great selection of bikes and expert knowledge. The online test ride booking system was very useful and meant that I knew I would be looked after as soon as I got there. Kenny in particular was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond for me. And the Newmarket store was a great place to test ride bikes because there are variable contours and quieter streets near by so that I felt safe on an unfamiliar bike. Highly recommend!

Brilliant bike repairs! Just rode home after bike service at Bikes & Barbers, Newmarket. New motor to replace 9 year old General service brakes, chain Bike goes better than new Brings out joy of riding. Super knowledgeable & helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Best bike shop in Auckland. Have been a customer for four years. Great range, great service and the bike mechanics really know their stuff, particularly with e bikes which have some tricky electronics in them.

Have been dealing with Bikes and Barbers since last 5 years and have seen them grow from strength to strength. The team has always given top notch service and have been ever so accomodating. I am onto my 3rd electric bike with B&B so I know its not a one off. Kudos to Chris, Darline and Aman, I can see you guys are successful as you consistently have put the customer first.

If you’re looking for an affordable ebike for getting around the city, best to drop by Bikes and Beyond (formerly Bikes and Barbers). Their store in Newmarket is packed with brands from Smartmotion, Onya, Hybrid, Wattwheels, Evinci, Stealth, UBCO and many more. Oh they also do bike rentals if you’re in Auckland and just want a bike for going around town. Reasonable priced and so many ebikes to choose from. Oh, they also have a store in Waiheke, if ever you want to rent some escooters and ebikes to go around the island.

Bikes and Barbers retrofitted my Pashley with an electric motor. All the staff were really helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with - Aman in particular. Mr retrofitted bike is going really well and I would recommend Bikes and Barbers to anyone who needs this sort of service.

I have been reading the reviews lately about bad experiences of customers with chris. There is one thing that I would really like to say about chris is that he is one of the most decent and genuine person I have ever met in my entire life. I have been working with him for 5 years. I have received numerous job offers with decent paychecks with less workload but I always declined it cause I can clearly see that having a good boss is what matters the most . Lately with covid and everything, repairs and everything went up by 10x and everyone wants their bikes back next day. Is it even possible ?? Receiving 100 calls day is tiresome . We really need to understand that just like you and me , he is also a human being not a machine. ALL THIS IS COMING FROM AN EMPLOYEE. Please Be respectful if not much . Regards

Absolutely lovely guys who know their bikes, great range to choose from at great prices. They were happy to help me with my many questions. Would have liked a larger range of bike helmets but I still got one there as the price was so great. Am already recommending this place to friends.

I got these guys to add a Bafang BBS01 electric set-up to my Marin Pine Mountain (steel frame, no suspension, phat tyres - bought new but real cheap). The result is an excellent adventure, fun & fitness bike which will be tested further during the holidays. Bikes & Barbers' service has been excellent throughout.

Bought an e bike about a month ago and have been loving it! Everytime I have returned to bikes and barbers I have had great service and they have always gone the extra mile to make sure the seat and tyres etc are all adjusted perfectly

I bought one of their e-bikes about 2 years ago. Was happy with their service then and took my bike in for a service last month and am still happy with their service.
