Sinch Jaunt 2 Review
After ten months of use I thought that it would be helpful to others for me to give this unsolicited review our Sinch e-bikes. My wife and I bought a Jaunt 2 each in January 2021. The process was good and Kim, one of the directors, responded to my online query with a helpful phone call. The bikes were delivered to Vanquish Cycles in Tauranga who fitted us and gave some good advice.
I have found the bikes to be very reliable and so far we have had no breakages, rattles or failures of any kind. All of the components seem well matched and the bikes feel agile, responsive and solidly made. Friends have commented favourably on their appearance. I am in my 60's and I am glad that we chose the Jaunt 2 model because it meets my needs perfectly. It provides an upright riding position with the weight of the body being transferred more directly down onto the seat. Some of my riding friends lean well forward on their mountain bikes which puts weight on their arms, shoulders and neck, which would not suit me. About six months ago we put Suntour NCX suspension seat posts on both bikes and these improved the comfort even more. Co-incidentally I note that the new model (MY22) has these as standard, which I think is a great upgrade.
I appreciate the extra features on the Jaunt bikes that make riding fuss-free. The integrated lights are great and the mudguards are handy and add almost no weight. The carrier is a real bonus. Most of my riding mates use a backpack to carry their gear, and even their water bottle, and this can restrict their movement and give them a sweaty back. I carry my lock, spare tube, tools, wallet, phone and food in a 5 litre dry bag that I bungy to the carrier; works perfectly and I can attach panniers when I need more carrying capacity. The cage mount is in a good place to reach the bottle while riding and the humble side stand is a great asset too. It saves me from lying the bike on the ground or propping it up against a tree or a wall as so many other riders have to do.
The Shimano 6100 motor is easily powerful enough. I ride with some friends who have more powerful bikes but I have no trouble comfortably keeping up. As I have become fitter I have noticed that I need to use the lower gears less on climbs, so the nine speed cassette is perfectly adequate. The gear changes can be a bit clunky at times but there is a knack to changing under load that I haven't completely mastered, so this is more about skill than the equipment. The 504 W/h battery has performed well and gives a good range. I have found judicious use the various modes (eco, norm and high) makes the most of the battery power. A recent three hour ride in the Rotorua Redwoods on grade1-3 trails used up only two of the five indicator bars.
E-bikes have become a bit of a 'boomer' thing and I certainly recommend them as great fun and a wonderful way to exercise, enjoy the outdoors and be more environmentally aware. Our Sinch bikes have proven to be really well made and reliable and they have helped us to get fit and explore places that we hadn't seen before. In all of my interactions with Sinch I have found them to have a real commitment to customer service. I think that they make great bikes and I am very pleased to be supporting a forward-thinking New Zealand company that is, in turn, supporting dozens of local bike shops all around the country.

I just love my Sinch Bike, I love it because the design fits well with my old mountain bike. It feels sturdy and its a Kiwi design which is another reason I bought it. The handle bars are more comfortable allowing my wrists to relax rather than grip as there is a larger area to rest my hands. Easy to use and feels very safe and comfortable. I have only had the bike 3 weeks but go every where now on it. I didn't do much research but the local cycle shop did a great sales job. Then I did the research and the rest is history

I am very impressed with the whole purchase experience and delighted with my new bike. The service from Cycle Nation in Havelock North was superb and I was lucky to get the model I needed which had to be sourced from another Sinch sales agent. I am a 70 year old 110kg male with a bad hip and this step through model made mounting and dismounting a breeze. The Shimano running gear and hydraulic disc brakes are exceptional.
The system where the display demo bikes are owned by Sinch is brilliant, and removes a lot of costs and risk from sales agents.

Brought a Sinch Jaunt 1, what a fantastic bike. It really is a breeze to ride. A great product, so comfortable to ride and with all the Shimano running gear makes these bikes a very high quality product. Would totally recommend to anyone considering buying an e bike. You will not be disappointed !

Love my Rush. Originally picked it based on the price point but the quality/battery/comfort/overall feel is way better than bikes that my friends have spent $2-3k more on (to my great delight, and their general despair...)
And the customer service was excellent; had a few questions before I bought my bike and got responses direct from the founders. Love supporting awesome local businesses like this. Thanks

Excellent service from the Sinch team, I ordered my Womens Mode 2 504Wh on Sunday night (not many companies who ring you at the weekend!!) and it was delivered to GMC Cycling in Silverdale the following day ready for collection a day later. I can't wait to ride it!!

Love my Sinch Mode 2 Womens, rode with my dad a few times this week and leaving him for dead, so I expect he will be popping back to your Taupo store to pick one up too.

After a lot of research and asking what is it we want in an ebike. Sinch had the answers in the form of the JauntEz2. The process was easy especially when the decision was supported by our local bike shop.
