D.Yet to purchase from these guys but I must say that talking to them and learning about the different ebikes was excellent. No pressure, just good useful information.
Extensive range of bikes for all ages and riding terrains. Fully equipped workshop to take care of service and repairs.
Plenty of parking right outside.
T.Lots of bike brands , and a whole lot of accessories, reasonably priced . And if you have a club card a good discount. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Ш.great service. seem to be mostly focused on selling the most expensive gear always, and not showing the cheaper gear for customers on a tighter budget, has happened to me 3 times in store. i dont mind spending for more expensive gear, i just thought be nice if they layed out the options to allow for an informed decision.
P.A great buying experience. Picked up my wife's Aftershokz Aeropex headphones and also brought a new lock. Knowledgeable salesperson and clean, well set out premises. I'll be back.

99Bikes Hornby continues to provide excellent service. Max has helped me sort out lights, a panier bag, lock, and an alternative method to carry a water bottle and pump.
Great knowledge, excellent communication, efficient, and really helpful with answering my questions.
The website is up to date and it's easy to check if stock is in store. That helps avoid wasted trips and streamlines things in these COVID times.
Max bikes and he knows stuff.
I recently bought a new fully suspension mountain bike. I had some information and knew what I wanted. I phoned in advance and they put aside the bike I was interested in. Once at the shop I wanted to compare it with another model. There were no hassles and I was provided with the right amount of guidance. My questions were answered with a good knowledge and understanding of the bikes and the differences between them. A different size bike was quickly sourced from the other Christchurch store and was ready for me 24 hours later.
I received excellent service, sharp prices on accessories, and I'm pleased. Communication was excellent and on a subsequent visit I was greeted when I walked in the door. That's the kind of service that makes it likely I'll return again. Thanks guys.
C.My salesperson was Max, I was extremely impressed I felt like a special customer, I found him very knowledgeable, he answered all my questions , which made me feel he new his stuff. He listened to my needs for an EBike and found the best to suit. I recommend when looking for an Ebike definately check Max out at 99 Bikes Hornby. I will return. Thankyou I love my Ebike. A.Just picked up a bike from 99 Bikes. They had a few delays with the courier losing/misplacing the bike when it was sent down from Wellington but the staff were always helpful and apologetic about the delays. The bike has been set up and some extras thrown in for good measure. Really appreciate the communication and good service and of course, the most excellent bike! Thanks guys.

J.I must admit I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews of this shop, but I had completely the opposite experience - I couldn't be happier.
They fitted a new chain ring and guide to my old stumpjumper, on time and budget, and they did a quality job. The mechanic I think? took a minute to explain the work and discussed the maintenance required from me (new o-ring etc).

V.Gotta give Max 5 stars for helpfulness to an old woman looking to purchase an ebike. I give him 10 stars for the laugh he gave me when he described getting tired on his bike ride as being bonked. And while I am sure being bonked can make one tired, I am also almost certain that the meaning hasn't changed with the generation! Perhaps the word most likely to describe tiredness was zonked... If you are bonked on a bike sir, you're wasting your talent, t'would take outstanding balance and attention to detail.
C.Surprised to see some of the reviews. Everytime I come in looking confused and unsure, all the guys here seem pretty engaged and knowledgeable. Finally bought a decent bike today and was helped by Liam. Lovely guy and was so patient with the heap of questions I had. Thanks Liam! Would come back for sure. Their electric bikes look pretty sweet too.

S.Bought a cargo ebike online from Bike Barn due to competitive price and limited availability closer to home. Quite a major purchase to make via phone and email. I delt with the Hornby store and found them really helpful, they promptly sent my new bike and while there was a couple of issues, they did whatever possible to fix them and in a timely manner. N.99Bikes in Hornby is my goto store for all my bike needs. They have a wide range of products and spare-parts.
The staff - both front desk and mechanics are very patient and helpful. When something could not be fixed, the mechanic advised me my options going forward.
Occasionally you can find some parts on great discounts in the specials bin.
