G.Thank you heaps for such an efficient service. I was able to book a repair online, outside of working hours. The fix for my spoke, tyre puncture and bits and pieces was incredibly quick but through! I can see they love the bikes and love doing what they do.
I.My partner and I visited Christchurch at the beginning of the year, and hiring bicycles from Action Bicycle Club was the highlight of our trip! Definitely the best way to explore the city! Will definitely be hiring bicycles from here next time we are in the city.
T.If you need a reliable, easy to schedule, and conveniently located bone shop staffed by super knowledgeable and passionate staff, you need Action Bicycle Club. As a commuting cyclist who is also a bit of a novice, I've always gotten really patient and helpful responses to my questions about maintenance, and my bicycle is serviced with care. Plus they stock possibly THE coolest urban bike gear in town.
N.Ken and the team are a great group of people. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We went in to view a few e-cargo bikes, and have now paid a deposit on a new bike to arrive next week! Can’t wait to join the e-bike revolution and not be stuck sitting in traffic in the car, especially when petrol is nearing $3 per litre!
A.It's always a pleasure to visit ABC. Ken and Charlotte are passionate about cycling and it shows in their offering and level or service. They've got some very cool gear for people who like to commute in style. They are also very involved in the community to try and get more people out of cars and on bikes. Go team!
L.Good Bikes, Excellent Service and Good price. We hired a couple of bikes for Little river cycle trail and these guys were highly accommodating, they hooked up a bike rack to our car for free, we couldn't make it back in time so they allowed us to return the bikes next morning without any extra charge. G.Super easy to deal with and even provided a courtesy bike. Serviced the bike, replaced brake pads and even managed to straighten a buckled wheel that other shops said was a goner, all for a steal!
Can see why they are highly recommended, wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
T.Took my commuter bike in to be serviced and the guys at Action Bicycle Club did an excellent job. I now have my brake pads, gears and my rear cassette all sorted for a very god price. They mentioned they have a service warranty so they can sort it if things go wrong. They even offered me a loan bike but I didn't need it! I felt like they went above and beyond. Very happy.
m.I have to say if you come to Christchurch you should rent an EBike from Action and go for a ride. You will not regret it and you will have memories of a lifetime!

My wife and I were after an ebike and a MTB for just over a day and I am really glad we used these guys.
It was a long weekend so returning the bikes had to be on a public holiday. Seriously, these guys made everything work. It was fantastic. "Oh, you might be riding in the dark? Let me put some lights on the bikes for you."
Service was personable too from three different staff members, really good to see a more 'community-minded' bike shop doing so well.
The bikes themselves were a very good too: A great brand (Cube bikes, which has a team in the Tour de France...!) and everything worked like a treat. My wife did 60km on the ebike and the battery was still 60% full!
I would definitely use these guys again next time we are in Christchurch.

d.Super service from Charlotte, Ken and Simon. My trademe bike needed urgent surgery. I was off to Queenstown next day and my chain kept jumping. I had previously had a service at another Christchurch place that clearly just specializes in selling new stuff as they did not fix anything as the problem kept happening. Action Bikes gave me a courtesy bike for the morning and diagnosed the chain skipping issue and cured the drive train. Rides like new. Really great quality service, and most importantly, no "BS" bike store!!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your advice and hiring of the E Bike and the kids trailer.
Our Wilderness Trail Adventure, from Ross to Greymouth, 133km in 4 days, was amazing. Our 4year old twins loved being in the trailer.... even falling asleep a few times!
We struggled for months to try and find a way of doing the bike ride the easiest and safest way. After talking to a few operators I just wasn’t confident we could go on the trip. Time was ticking and I found your page one night and you replied to my queries immediately, after meeting you and visiting your store you showed great knowledge of the bikes and trailer.
You assisted with showing our twins another way of seeing how beautiful NZ is and we are so grateful!
We will definitely be back to hire again - we are just discussing which trail to do!! Thanks again Ken.

S.The best bike shop in Christchurch Otautahi. Excellent service, great rates and top notch products for sale. On top of that it comes with a great community: my bike was recently stolen and because of an action bicycle club sticker on the frame someone found it, called them up and they let me know so I could be reunited! A.What a wonderful way to see Christchurch and the Avon River, hired two bikes for 5 hours, the time went so quick. The bikes were great and cost less than a Tram ride. People at Action Bikes were fabulous.

K.Had a great two days cycling. Really excellent, friendly service from staff who cared about me having the best experience possible. The bike was ideal for Chch. Rode out to Sumner, Brighton, Belfast and Hornby, mostly on good cycle paths or lanes. Also popped it on the front of a bus to Lyttelton, then cycled round to Diamond Harbour. Seat not quite as comfy as it looks, but overall great bike. Would recommend. Faster than a mountain bike.
p.Great Service! These people are definitely in it for the love of biking! This review is a bit late, but back in February I visited and needed a bike. I stopped by and said I'd like to rent a bike for 5 hours. Unfortunately the day was a little rainy, but they let me borrow a rain jacket on the house and even said if I return the bike a little later they wouldnt charge me extra! They also provide locks. Don't mind the handlebars in the picture, I rode a long bumpy route and they happened to loosen up a bit (just had to tighten them up with a handy allen wrench).
C.I found Ken to be very knowledgeable and very helpful regarding ebikes. I would definitely recommend Action Bicycle Club.
N.Hired some e-bikes for the afternoon, accidently punctured a tyre high up on the summit road, Ken promptly came to our rescue by biking up the hill & replacing the inner tube within 20-30 minutes, absolutely amazing service! Highly recommended!

B.Hired an ebike for the day, had tremendous fun riding in and out of Christchurch, got to see a lot more than i would have otherwise, great way to tour the area. Really good, easy bike to ride.
M.The last 2 weeks I was able to use an e-bike Sprint for a trial period and I must say that JOY is one word to express those weeks. The only 2 times that I used our car was when I had to get a basketball team to their games. Even when I'm tired the bike will always get me home. But I actually found that I was pedalling and being active more than expected. It was soooo much fun! With the pedal assist I could choose how much I wanted to pedal or how little. Great!
