We were greeted by the most knowledgeable and helpful guy, Gareth. His friendly and genuine attitude made all the difference when faced with heaps of bikes to choose from. He went above and beyond to try and find a suitable bike for me within my budget. He shared some awesome advice when helping me ensure the bike was the right fit! I'd say Evo is a winner for an all-round bike store and service centre. Staff are generally friendly and receptive and the workshop team knows their stuff. When some compatibility issues meant my fork upgrade was going to cost more than anticipated, they did me a solid and installed it for free. The impression I get is that they want to help get you riding without dismissing less profitable small jobs, and for that reason I make Evo my first port of call.

Hi there Several months ago I put a Giant Liv on hold and was served by a very helpful man - Laughlin - two days ago I went in to purchase my bike and had Erin help me. I wanted several accessories added to my bike and she was incredibly helpful in assisting me to purchase the correct ones for my style of cycling. Today I picked my bike and and Erin helped me again - she is a super employee - never did I feel rushed or stupid - (59yo here) and again her very helpful knowledge assisted me in getting exactly what I needed - just wanted to pass on my thanks to your great staff and in particular Erin!

Good staff. Good experience. Bought a FS bike from them. Oscar did his best to make sure the correct size bike was chosen even though the correct sized one had to be brought from Evo shop in Nelson. Fantastic Service. I placed an online order and 2 days later received a text and an email to say it was ready to collect. Due to a small error in their system 2 of my items had not been ordered in to the store. The salesman quickly sorted this by finding me other items (of superior quality) and supplying me with those instead, all whilst apologizing profusely (not necessary, it wasn't his fault). He then offered to help me put all the extras on my bike, and when I told him it was fine and I could manage, he helped me load all the gear into my car and sent me on my way. Best service I've received from a store in a long time. I'll definitely be back.

Super fast and efficient, happy to help. In June we purchased a scooter from Evo Cycles and they price matched for us, it was super easy and hassle free, we have now just purchased a bike for Christmas and they assembled it for us and really took all the hassle out of it. Nice showroom. Awesome staff who know their stuff, very helpful. I think their labour fees are a bit too dear but that's my opinion. I got charged $10 for a chain change with a chain I bought there so just saying. Quality products are always there with discount sales happening all the time.

Came in Sunday morning. Cant fault the service very friendly dealt with Andy. The bike I was looking at in store was not my size Andy checked the computer and it indicated the Hornby store had one. Andy phoned Hornby and the bike was still boxed up arranged for it to be built so I could test ride Monday lunch time, turned up Monday still in the box. This goes on the back of the poor experience I had in the Hornby store on Saturday.

Awesome Service! I had ordered a bike from Torpedo 7 two weeks earlier but after after trying to contact them via various phone numbers, social media and email I couldnt speak to anyone about when my childs bike would be ready for pick up! I spoke to Evo Cycles and they said they would have one built for me the next day. 2 hours after ordering it i get a text saying its ready and I now have a very happy 3 year old with his new bike! Great pricing & finance options. Easy to make the purchase from Nelson. Mechanic picked up a problem early with a part I bought separately to be installed & he saved me a lot of hassle. They made it easy to change the part. Communication was a bit slow at times but that's being pretty picky. All in all I'm really happy with how the purchase of the bike went. Highly recommended. I have been to Evo Cycles about five times now to buy things for my e scooter. EVERY time the staff have been knowledgeable, informative and friendly. Twice items have been ordered in. These guys import some great kit, but the service that comes with is pretty poor.. I have been into the shop 6-10 times and purchased a bike there. I get the feeling no-one really gives a dam - sale or no sale. The workshop did little or nothing on the bikes six week service (certainly didn't do what they said they would). If you're looking for good advice and good service, or a good workshop service, head elsewhere.

Helpful and friendly staff! I can't remember the names of the guys who helped me when I picked up my new bike and it's accessories but they were so nice. I didn't have a bike rack so they helped me disassemble the bike to fit it in my car.

We were looking to replace our older well used bikes and after looking round several bike shops Evo Cycles made the short list. Mainly due to the great customer service we received, all of our questions were answered and we left knowing we had at least identified the bikes we wanted. I went to the cycle shop where I have been a customer for around 4 years as they stocked the same bike and they had a sale on. Unfortunately their customer service was less than satisfactory. I went back to Evo cycles who matched the sale price of the other store so purchased our new bikes from Evo. I have made a couple of other purchases since at Evo Cycles and the friendly team have made it a good experience. Good up front advice with the tricky bits explained in plain english so I can understand. My new go to bike shop.

Very good service, I buy a 21 emonda sl 6 pro here, but when I found a manufacturing defects on the bike,I was anxious and then I came back the evo,they said they can change a new one for me,the second bike is perfect. I will comeback again

I have bought a couple of bikes from evo cycles. The initial pricing is good and the after sales support (warranty etc) was ok. (I usually buy a couple of mid/high end bikes a year so I have a lot of comparisons). I would happily buy another bike there provided it was the best price I could find.

All round a nice experience to shop with eco cycles. Had help and advice on the bikes I was interested in. Downfall was a young male who first served me left out some information about the bike and bike rack I purchased with lead to the bike rack being useless for me and he didn’t mention the bike didn’t come with pedals until I rode it out the shop. I have been back in since my first purchase and had a lot of help and advice about mountain biking in Christchurch of another staff memeber. All round a good place to shop

Took my 9 year old in to get a new bike after reviewing the website and seeing the breadth of information available to help make the decision. I was riding across the country with my trekking bike and needed to get my bike ready for the flight back home. The helped me out, they got me a box, stuff to box it in properly, they even helped me! They were very kind... I travelled a lot with my bike, but I never got sooo much support! They even let me wait for my taxi inside and offering me hot drinks! I really love this shop! The guys at Evo Cycles have been amazing throughout and made my experience in mountain biking awesome. I got my first proper mountain bike from here, a GT Sanction. They helped set it up and have been great with service etc. Further, I bought a hemet with the bike and had a crash on it the same day. Took my ebike in to the workshop for a small issue I was having, they fixed that but also whilst test riding, the mechanic noticed a bit of noise coming from the headset, that was also fixed with out having to be asked. These guys know bikes and they do care what condition they leave there workshop in.

I bought a bike from this shop in September 2016. I have had 8 broken spokes in ten months. The back wheel has been replaced but still the spokes break. My previous bike lasted 6 years and 45,000kms with no broken spokes. I dropped the bike in with a further broken spoke before going on holiday for two weeks but that was not long enough, walking to work for another week whilst they sort it out. Pathetic service on a sub-standard bike. The manager of the workshop has just rung and it seems they have done a good job of the repair plus done some extra work on my bike for no charge. Apparently it was ready on Saturday so I could have collected it on Monday when I returned but I did not receive the text, seems they don't come through if the SIM card is taken out of your phone, even when it is replaced. Thanks Evolution for the extra efforts.

I bought a ebike from Evo after did a lot of researched on Internet, compare price, specs, et. Evo was is in my shortlist. Came to the shop, talked to the staff (sorry can't remember his name). He is very friendly, helpful and dedicated. Help me a lot on my first bike in New Zealand. I will come back to shop others bike accessories and strongly recommenced Evo to all my friends

Bought a 2017 Trek Remedy 9.8 and right from the get go things weren’t quite right. Gear changes were nasty and there were creaks from god knows where? I took the bike to my local shop as I live miles from the nearest EVO CYCLES and they looked it over. Apparently the rear suspension pivots hadn’t been greased properly so they greased everything and checked torque settings. The headset started making an awful noise so back it went, ZERO grease!!! I’m now waiting on a Trek NZ supplied replacement part for the headset and should be getting it sorted tomorrow? All in all I have to say I’m not entirely happy with the fact the bike doesn’t appear to have been assembled correctly and as a result has cost me money.

I am a total novice when it comes to road bikes and I am training for my first quarter Iron Man. Thankfully my wife brought me here after we found out the bike I was using was two sizes too small, we got some truly fantastic service by Digby and Brad who spent an considerable amount of time showing me different brands and options available, once i finalised my choice it had to be shipped from Auckland, It was here within three days fully assembled and at no extra cost too me. When I am riding now the difference is just amazing, I feel so different having the correctly sized bike which suits my frame, and it is liberating experience when riding now. EVO gave us the best service, we had travelled from Blenheim to view two e bikes. Service and pricing was so good we came on home with 2 Trek electric FS bikes and a Thule carrier.
